Remember these plastic fittings are bigger than copper fittings and so might get in the way when relaying the floor boards, you might have to make the cut out notches deeper otherwise the floor boards will be pressing on the fitting and you dont want that.

I’ve seen speedfit pipe pulled out of their tightened fittings through sheer weight of the water in them & because they haven’t been clipped enough under the floor. But this is the only push fit pipe I trust to put compression fittings straight on to.

Really interesting and informative video until 10:16 when it turned into Cbeebies! 🙂

I thought I was watching an informational video, then at 10:25 it turns into one of those videos they put on screens when your queuing up for the rides at Alton Towers, mad scientist included.

Have could you say all this and still inflict the rubbish that 22mm standard pipe is on the trade? Almost impossible to straighten then trying to curl back up after fitting putting stress on the fittings. I take it you coiled it while it was still hot and it never loses that memory. Not to mention the 15mm elbow straight out of the packet that leaked because the O ring was not in it’s seat.

Hi. Im not a plumber. I have two different jg fittings. 15mm white and 12mm black. The white is all plastic inside. The black has metal grip. Ive found inserts with and without seals. Do i need insert for black.. and if so. With seal ir without? Phil

I’ve taken fittings apart after 10 years of being on and the O-ring was already becoming hard and brittle. Especially on the hot water system.
Full houses are being plumbed in these (or similar plastic) and at some point ALL of the O-rings will start to deteriorate around the same time, under floors, behind walls and ceilings.
So after thousands of pounds taking floors up and ceilings down to access every fitting will a guarantee just replace the fitting? Or will they pay for a full house remodel? Or will the company just go bust/change name and avoid it 🤷🏽‍♂️
In my opinion it will definitely be a BIG problem, BIG money for plumbers and BIG payouts by insurance companies.
