When I started anime, and I was kinda scared of it at first, I thought death note would be really gory and scary because of ryuk, but now he seems like a bro and not scary in the slightest

The most intense moment of the show , I got very emotional because I really get in the shape of characters and I try to feel all the scenarios and the way that Ryuk ended Light was really sad , the music , the narration and the actual moment made everything like a piece of art. Final words marked their entire collaboration and the way that he writes his name down the notebook feels like you are on the edge of a cliff and somehow you know you wont survive for long. I can't find any anime that is really similar in this type of drama , a show that brings out the real contextual psychological moments of the good and the evil in a fantasy world. I can declare this anime the most powerful addictive and very interesting show I ever saw.

I feel like Ryuk killed Light out of mercy. Even if he survived the gunshots, he would be getting life in prison. Ryuk pretty much spared him the trouble. He got what he wanted, an interesting show, and was entertained to the end.

The point that i get after watching the anime and reading the manga for idk how many times alr, that there are main drives both Light and Ryuk into doing what they're doing, and that is both of them are bored with life. Shame that only Ryuk is the only one who realized this between the two of them... .

Imo it's Matsuda. I'm biased though, because Matsuda is my favorite character. I admit though that he and Ryuk are the two funniest characters in the series. I wish they had more than just that one scene together. Thanks for watching!

As someone who had watched the anime in full in Dub the first time, honestly, to me, it's the opposite, at least to some extent.
I'll just say that while he is much less emotionally expressive, Mamoru Miyano's voice sounds more appealing to the ears than Brad Swaille's.
As for Ryuk, Brian Drummond really made him seem like an ethereal, non-human figure who likes to mess with people whilst in Japanese, he just sounds like a shady old man.
Honestly, overall both dub and sub have their charms in this anime if you look at both in a positive light.

The voice actor of Ryuk is Shidô Nakamura, a Kabuki actor. Kisame was voiced by Tomoyuki Dan.
