Couple of questions: 1 Are you in the N.E.//Maine area? (accent sounds familiar) 2 What are the bad to good driveshafts on trucks from the factory? 3 How often (average mileage) should this be checked? Thx
(1) Sanford Maine (2) not brand specific and question not easily answered but all of the brands are slowly creeping towards non serviceable components , like staked in u joints that are not changeable and center bearings that can't be removed. The goal to shut out guys like me from fixing things for people . This is a part of the Right to Repair law . They will never stop people, ESPECIALLY ME from repairing stuff . I'm a fussy machinist in a fully tooled up shop (3) It's not a bad Idea to look every thing over underneath any ride when you change the oil .
Yes and 2 bolts on the front flange as well . Yes I always do it that way on all 4 bolt flanges they are 180* opposite each other so they cancel each other out and don't effect the balance factor as long as you run matched sized bolts & nuts . On a 3 bolt flange you have to run them all.
At 3:51 it looks like the top circlip isn't fitted right going by the small gap between the tangs on the clip compared with the other ones.
If you haven’t already check out the follow up vid 455A and see what the wonky looking clips turned out to be a result of . Thanks for watching!
So many points were brought up…what was the fix…?
A new spicer u joint….?
@@offgridmangogrower did you watch the follow up vid ? 455A

@@arsco6125 Thought so. Mike Day Concrete NORTH MONMOUTH, ME has the EXACT same accent.
@@austinmachine6622 #3 I meant where you should take out the D-S and have it checked on a machine. You implied they all slowly go out of balance.
only two bolts at the back?
