    I think it is a bummer that Bouchard is still being given WCs into main draws. Give some other up and coming players a chance to compete in main draws for a change.

    Was just wondering. So at this point, does genie still have an ARMY? lol
    I'm surprise Nike is still investing on special kits for her when she's not even winning, while Simona is no. 1 but she was given the same kit as everyone else. Haha

    • @ilovetoomanythings
      @ilovetoomanythings 6 років тому

      She's still got the following online. But if her ambition is to become a top ranked tennis player she's got a loooong way to go

    • @pomerlain8924
      @pomerlain8924 6 років тому +18

      Yep, I've never understood why Bouchard gets her own kits either, when she's done nothing on tour in over 3 years. And really players that do get their own specialized kits are usually slam champions or top ranked players. Players like Simona and Elina Svitolina have done a lot more than Genie over the past 3 years. And Petra Kvitova has won 2 GS. But they have to wear to wear the same kits as everyone else. Nike is basically saying a nothing player who is now outside the top 100 has more standing than 3 players who are proven winners and near the top of the game. That really does not make sense. Really, it's amazing that Nike is still sponsoring Bouchard when she simply has done nothing but look pretty.

      Mrreciprocat Sharapova has six majors while Bouchard has none. Eugenia is a one and done. Sharapova just lost her edge so she now has to work twice as hard to get past the first. She can do it, but Eugenia can’t.

    Go Sasha. You Got Game

  • @quiddy
    @quiddy 6 років тому +2

    Sasha has deceptive power from both sides, reminiscent of Chanda Rubin when hitting shots on the run. Or even Seles, with a flick of the wrist creating some extreme angles from unexpected positions. She keeps her arms closer to her body and does not give away much clues as to where she will hit her shots (or with what speed for that matter). Amazing technique to be able to do that without the typical requisite preparation on her backswing. Her physique should also be able to withstand and flourish from her opponent's pace (assuming her muscles remain healthy and not prone to injury from overtraining or lack of body fat for shock absorption - yes believe it or not the reason why Sanchez Vicario lasted as long as she did with her game was partly due to her healthy body and lack of body shame issues)).

    Like the fast changeover in WTA. No player for media to make into a demigod....so sickening to witness it. No one can sit on their laurels or have time to show "attitude" offcourt. Almost like new improving AI programmed players closing down the top ones. I would like to see Vickery MAINTAIN the focus and concentration, from continent to continent, surface to surface. You can do it.

    Hey you, genie bashers, get a life for yourselves. She is still among the top tennis players in the world. She's had surprising success at a very early age, more than most people will ever have. Yes, she is immature sometimes but so what. Everyone is. She doesn't have to be a one-dimensional human being like a lot of people. It's good that she explores life at a young age. Tennis is just a game. But if she wants to perform better, she needs to get back to being extra-aggressive moving forward all the time, because she does not have the power to dominate.

    • @tenniswilliam
      @tenniswilliam 6 років тому

      she seems to be hitting the ball well but too short compared to her 2014 season - it seems just to be a foot or two less than before and with less pace - seems like she is trying to put more topspin - also her serves before were more difficult to return compared to now - could be some coaching introduced errors that are hard to recover from - too bad she was dynomite in 2014 - scary good

    • @suesmith9321
      @suesmith9321 6 років тому +2

      There’s nothing special about her game that the other women on tour don’t have. I think in 2014 she was just more unknown but now everyone knows what type of game she plays and can easily adjust. She’s not the most powerful player, or the best defensive player, or best placement which gives nothing special to her game. Her serves tend to be fairly weak. At one point in the video Sachia is standing a few feet in front of the baseline to return a serve.

      Lisa Marie people like you try SO HARD to be PC that it makes me cringe. What’s wrong with wanting an exciting young tennis player who is from a specific country, more specifically, a player who represents your own country. Are people not even allowed to have preferences towards their own counties these days? Geez...

    • @lisamarie3974
      @lisamarie3974 6 років тому +1

      'people like me' right, bc you know me so well, right? I'm not trying to be politically correct, I was just making a point that she her play can be exciting no matter what country she's from. Of course, if any unexciting player from my country is playing against an unexciting player from some other country, I'm probably gonna cheer for my countryman/woman, so there's nothing wrong with that AT ALL. However, I don't let nationality influence which players I find most exciting, because those I like most are not. I'd rather watch and cheer for players whose game I really enjoy than cheer for one from my country and not enjoy the game. But I don't let one depend on the other, meaning a player's game does not get more or less exciting based on their home country, and that was the point of my comment. It wasn't to be PC or attack anyone, it was just to show that I didn't agree with the argumentation: if X is from country Y, game is exciting, if not, game is boring (which is what the comment implied). I do agree with 'if X has exciting game, AND is from country Y, its more exciting to watch. Don't try to make it about 'people like me' or pitting one group against another, we all enjoy tennis, I was just trying to broaden someone's horizon. May I ask whose game you find most exciting (genuinely interested btw)?
