Back in my sprout days, I always stopped and wonder wtf just happened whenever I come across an area affected by a shard of Dalamud. Kinda made sense that people around me just go about their lives like nothing is wrong since it's already been 5 years post-calamity but man... it sure was one hell of a journey of discovery for me as a newcomer to Eorzea.
I just wanted to say that these lore talk vids are my favorite on the channel and hope to see more. And I hope you do get the views you deserve because it seems ff14 doesn't have a lot of lore discussion. Which maybe feels weird because the lore is so much better established than many other MMOs. I thank you guys for all your hard work on these vids.
I've been getting into these lore talks as something to listen to while gathering and crafting, genuinely heightens my immersion and understanding of the world. Thank you for making them!
Vylbrand is a great place to farm things, from a more realistic perspective, things like potatoes(popotoes) or other types of tuber-esq vegetation. Strawberries, if properly kept, can thrive in ash like ground. Ash is heavy in neutrients. But it can burn the roots out too. I believe the farmers of Limsa Lominsa haven't quite figured this out and they struggle to fibd things that stick.
Also, I think-personally anyway-that since they gave us deeper lore for Mhach via 24 mans and through BLM job quests, that Nym and Amdapor need things that are-not exactly the same in presentation-but deeper in how the lore is presented. They could, in my mind, give another 24 man in the next expansion that has us going through the time when Amdapor and Nym as the Fifth Calamity is coming on while they don't know it. Like the first iteration be we warp between the civilizations as they're going through the War of the Magi but help them fight the Mhachi BLMs and Void Mages. Second one is as Nym becomes more involved, the introduction of the Green Death, etc. And the last one acts out how each nation handles the Calamity. Just my two cents
I'm assuming since "Limsa Lominsa" supports the Lalafell language structure the city's common name is from the Lalafell language, and I've always wondered the meaning.
Last comment I'll make. But the quickest answer about war/s and how long or short they are, always remember this: War does not determine who is right; only who is left.
i love these talks gives me a wider view on a world i am very interested in and as a historian i love these small things most people ignore thank you for that

I really do enjoy listening to this while doing roulettes and fates, it is quite nice to learn lore while mindlessly slaughtering random things :D

The new world shall henceforth be known as its founder intended, Ketenland

Hey, as long as I don't have to be an esuna machine gun for Alka Zolka, I'm game for more Nymian lore.😂
39:25 what was that 🤔
I enjoy listening to these while I'm working 😊 So fascinating!
