- I traveled to Japan and the beautiful Nasu Chifuriko Country Club set in a national park 4 hours north of Tokyo. I played a 9 hole scramble with Haraken of Docus Design Golf.

@@letsplaythrutravel I am going to Japan second week of October. I’ll be staying in Osaka. How far is the company from Osaka? I am a lefty do they make that putter for left handed. I also have my specs from club of champion.
@@izzyg75 it’s quite a ways. I’m guessing about 8 hours. They may have LH putters in other models.

From your early review and travel videos to now club collaboration is an awesome journey. Wishing you all the success. The craftmanship and innovation in Japan is always inspiring. I ran sales for Asia for 10 years back in the 90's for the leading US company in rapid prototyping & additive manufacturing technology now generally just called 3D printing and our Asia headquarters was in Japan. Loved spending time there and occasionally got in a game of golf.

As for the grass, I tried to find out, but I think it was lost in translation 🤣. They mentioned it was a Canadian grass and it was very dense. Could be similar stuff I imagine.
@@letsplaythrutravel happy to be along for the ride. I would imagine it's bent blue grass (as I was a groundskeeper at an Alister Mackenzie course) it's what we use up here. Very dense and if they keep the grass over 2.5" it's very difficult to get out of.

I love the looks of Docus clubs. Hope they make them affordable for a mere mortal like me someday. Would love to test out there equipment and compare it to our big brands in he states.

Any chance that deliveries could be earlier than January? I'll be 7 weeks on vacation in Martinique and would love to get my hands on the putter before leaving France!
There’s a chance it could be December but I think January is most likely as we need 3 months to produce.

Gabe what do you recommend between docus and Edel irons? I live near the Edel HQ and can get fit by them, but I’m also going to Japan next year and would absolutely go out of my way to get fit and send clubs home. I’m a 20 handicap and I’m super interested in the custom weighting
I think the Edel is going to be suited more for 10-0 handicaps and Docus really shines for 3-0 handicaps. Sorry, I can’t be more helpful but it’s like choosing between my children.
