Thank you so much for this information. Here in NYC I'm familiar with Islandaire, McQuay and Amana units as well. Is there a 115V heat pump PTAC model available by any brand? Or are they all 220V because of the electric heat. Thanks!

      Hello
From what I have seen they are all 208-230v.

back with another question is the solenoid go bad often and can it be replaced

It's kind of rare when they go bad, but if they do it's pretty easy to replace. It's just two wires and a 5/16 screw

Question so i replaced the coils on my ptec unit (islandaire) i still get no heat any idea what it might be ?

      Hello
I would check the limit switch first, if they are good I would make sure the control board is sending power to the heater coils... identify the heater wires from the board to the heater coil, and wait for the delay(about 3-5 minute), you should get around 230 volts by checking both lines

Just let me get something straight, so the heat pump mode only works if the temperature is 4 degrees lower than the temperature set on the PTAC right? I guess it is to keep the temperature in the room but if the temperature drops lower than or more than 4 degrees then the heat elements start working so raise the temperature, am I right or did I get it all wrong? 😅😅
