- The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What did they look like? Ships, motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways? I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day I got in...

That lil' machinima opening, damn -- amazing work!
No you were right digital horror is exactly what they call it I mean, it sees Zach Stevens nostalgia. It's just for people a little bit younger than us who were children in the early two thousands
I watched Tron: Legacy with my dad when it came out, and it has since influenced my taste in what I perceive a digital landscape should look like. Later, I watched the original and I was impressed by how much work was put into the vision of this neon-cyberspace and how that work payed off. Re-watched Tron: Legacy, and I was amazed by how well the visuals aged (Yes, even the CGI de-aging of Jeff Bridges wasn't that bad imo. Still noticeable, but it kinda blends with the digital environment.)
I've since been working on a Doom project of my own inspired by the visuals of Tron and its sequel. I don't know if I'll ever finish it, since it has been over 2 years since I started and I've scrapped so many maps that there's only 2 left that I'm at the very least satisfied with. But, if it only comes to 2 maps, that's okay. Not everyone needs to make a megawad.
@@Emperor_SPOON I actually kind of love how subtly creepy digitally de-aged Jeff Bridges looks in that movie! That's actually a great modern example of exactly what I was talking about here, I think the effect holds up much better because it's a CGI character that is meant, in-universe, to be a computer-generated guy. It doesn't spoil the experience by looking obviously digital because CLU is an actual digital person. And a little bit of the ol uncanny valley certainly doesn't hurt on your movie's primary villain! The exact same effect is not as good on the brief flashback scenes where it's actually young Flynn because that's supposed to be a real human and we all know real people don't look like that, but I think they knew this because they obscure his face much more I those scenes than they do for CLU.
It's interesting to hear you talk about stuff like the Digital Circus. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like the early 2000s are coming back as our nostalgia now.
@@TheLobsterGamer I've been a fan of Gooseworx's stuff for a long time, it's actually kind of surreal to see the whole world suddenly get on board with TADC! Just the right time for something like that to blow up I guess.
L-L-Look at you Hacker. A pathetic creature of meat and bone. P-P-Panting and sweating as you run through my corridors. How can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?
NOOOO
Ron was about to retire too😢
@@EVgreenio retirement is cancelled! he's going to be working overtime for the rest of the year fixing all these BSODs!
Maybe they wanted you to go back to the start and press the death button again Because now it would trigger something else
@@thedukeofweasels6870 ooh, good idea, I should try that and see if anything happens
