Human Impact, a “band that collects members from three of New York noise’s most important groups - the hardcore-influenced, ultraviolent Unsane, industrial anger mongers Cop Shoot Cop, and erstwhile Lower East Side pummelers Swans” (Rolling Stone), have released a video for “E605”.
The Samuel Mitchell-directed clip visually echoes the gritty, industrial-tinged noise rock on the band’s forthcoming, self-titled debut album. It is the second song to preview the 10-track release, with the band previously sharing the song “November”.
At the time, the New York Times said: “This supergroup’s lineup represents the fulfillment of a noise rock fan’s most fervent wish; the face-melting guitar sound of Chris Spencer (Unsane), coupled with the sampling mastery of Jim Coleman (Cop Shoot Cop), supported by the innovative percussion of Phil Puleo (Cop Shoot Cop, Swans) and strung together with the minimal yet impactful bass rhythms of Chris Pravdica (Swans).”
Human Impact was produced by Coleman and Spencer with recording done at BC Studios by veteran noise rock svengali Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, John Zorn, Bootsy Collins). Additional recording was done at Hoboken Recorders with mixing completed by Alan Camlet.

Chris' vocals are honestly underrated. They are like a punch to the face!
Clean.............. almost metallic in the deliverence. I know this can be taken as negative. 25+ years of understanding. Soooo Good

Puleo is an absolute beast on the drums.
I never thought I would hear Chris Spencer channeling Steve Albini with his vocals, yet here we are. And it's amazeballs.

This is pretty fucking awesome, been a big fan of Cop Shoot Cop and Unsane for years and this doesn't disappoint one bit.
Me too, saw Unsane loads of times in London and saw Cop shoot cop twice.
Cop Shoot Cop is really one of the most musical - gut punch - pull. This is so tight and right on the mark to engage. @@Limesubmusic

I was surprised to see Chris Pravdica and Phil Puleo here! Great! I like Phil as a musician and as a person. To Chris I didn’t speak until now, can only say: He’s a great musician, too! Somehow he always seems to be in the background, but at the same time his playing is important for the Music, brings it exactly to the point, powerful and heavy - Chris on his bass and also Phil on his drums - I love it!
I’m sorry, it’s not easy for me to express in English, because I’m from Jupiter, where we only speak Marsian...

@@NuevaRomay For over half a decade I sat at a computer and listened to 8-15 hours of music a day as part of my job. I can tell you that people get what they get from the art of music. The music scene as a culture always has this "I know influences better than you" reflex that happens. Sometimes it's passion and sometimes it's wank but mostly it's both. This cultural habit may be technically correct in some aspects but at the core, art is meant to be interpretted.
