I just bought the Mic Mini recently and I only use it for mini vlogs using my camera or phone, works great and no regrets as I love DJI and their drones, however, I think this design of new M2S is cool, looks so tiny when clipped and not noticeable. 👍🏻😄
Just to let you know, I don't see a lightning version of the receiver on Amazon, the kit comes with a C to Lightning adapter cable which is great, just not as aesthetically pleasing... not sure if the M2S transmitters are compatible with the m2 lightning receiver. Just wanted to let you know, unless I'm missing it, I'm not seeing a dedicated lightning M2S receiver 1:37
I am waiting on the DJI mic mini S to get released hahaha, Hollyland is kicking butt in this mimi mic sector! this thing is well designed. I am going to be picking one up and selling my original M2
All the mics sound good. The M2 and M2S were a bit hot and peaked depending on certain words that were spoken....not so much the Mic Mini. What was the setting for the Noise Cancellation on the Mic Mini... Standard or Strong Cancellation? A lot of these wireless mics that can be used on smartphones and cameras sound way better than the phone's built-in mics...it's just too bad that Rode does not offer Noise Cancellation on a bunch of their products
Is the holy Land Lark m2s compatible with the holy landlark M2 receiver, vice versa or the transmitters and receivers interchangeable if you own one over the other? If they're not well, I guess they're going to have the same problem that the DJ Mike mini has with the DJI mic. 2. One of my biggest complaints is they should be compatible with one another if you're going to have a true audio ecosystem
The other thing I would like to mention is that they could have put a MicroSD card on the other side of the unit when you're clipping it to yourself for internal recording. Don't know why they didn't do that. They want to compete with DJI. That's what I would have designed into the microphone is a MicroSD card on the insides you can record internal audio and then I would have had it so that you could interchangeably use it with the holyland Lark M2 receiver
I don't need that kind of range. I can't imagine ever needing to be 300 meters away from my subject. If a 10-meter range allowed for an even smaller unit, I would be interested. That being said this unit looks great.
Range was really poor in the examples at the motor show but that could have been a hostile environment for wireless transmission. But I admit that the M2S seemed best, while it was still breaking up even close. For a moment I thought that these new mics might fit in-ear, which is probably technically possible these days, but they don't. I use the Rode Wireless Micro rig for binaural sound when cap mounted, and that really is a whole new way of using wireless mics that nobody else seems to be trying. Noise cancelling seemed to be best avoided unless desperate and unable to do that in post. As for directional audio, I thought all wireless mics are classed as omnidirectional. Maybe there are degrees of omni. Thanks for the review!
There are plenty good options to the DJI mic family. Hollyland and Fulaim just to name a couple. They are effectively as good in the sound quality category but may be at a disadvantage in the connection category.
Which of these supports recording locally on the mics? Due to broadcast / distance interference I like to have the local recording which is unaffected by these.
I'm looking for the same features with internal recording and Hi-fi quality audio. Maybe the Hollyland LARK MAX Duo is the only option on the market. 😅 I hope it helps.
Love the no-logo design of lark m2s!!!!! Better than anything in commercial use!
With all these devices a small piece of insulation tape, colour matched to clothes, fixes that issue very cheaply.
I just love how Hollyland made a product with their logo and gave us a way to hide the logo. Noise cancel sounds good.
Very impressive mic. Especially for its size. Great review 👍👍

You should tell Hollyland. The receiver could have been the storage component and adjustable shoe height or added a shoe clip

M2S audio had more "substance" to it. M2 sounded a bit "thin" in comparison. Cut-outs seemed to be a bit more noticeable on the M2, as well.
Great form factor being even smaller...BUT Aldren I heat a fair amount of sibilence. It's really noticeable. What do you think?

I actually think this sounds really well.
Question, does the wind muff cover the function button and light like the previous version w the dead cat.
I like it. Can it plug-into a DJI Action 4 camera or the DJI RC2 remote?
I always hated seeing the transmitter in the shot, this looks made for me.
Exactly

But why not 32 bits in 2025
I think the Mic mini wasn't in mono from what I listened
M2S sound a little better than Dji mic mini?
Very nice
We don’t need more wireless mics without internal recording & 32bit float 🗣
Don’t buy it, then.
@ you shouldn’t buy it either, vote with your $$$ so companies make real innovated products and not rehashed cash grabs of a few month old system.
Moma m2 😂😂😂
