    Thank you very much.
    This exactly what I've been wanting to know and learn.
    I never had a bike as a child. I'm close to being 50 y/o, and I got myself a folding bike thinking that if I get a puncture or if anything happens while I'm learning and enjoying a good ride I can easily stop, fold it, get a taxi or an Uber, put it in the trunk and go home. But I'm still learning how to hop on and hop off at intersections or wherever needed. So thank you very much, I enjoyed your video.
    Best regards from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico :)

    This is the right video for me to ask you for a video. 🙂 I've ridden in Rio so your videos are very helpful. I live in Florida and last week I rode my C-Type in Casablanca Morocco. On and off the bike smoothly, important! I see you navigate all kinds of situations. Road re-paving, paths that end in a wall to wheel around, etc. Would you make a video about "Riding your Brompton in a strange place." Meaning, a place you don't know. You get out of bed, put on your helmet and gloves, and introduce your Brompton to you-don't-know-yet, you and the bike will find out as you go. Thank you for all you do!

      Thanks for the request. It is always a great adventure ti ride for the first time in a new citty.
      One thing that help me a lot is the App Google Maps. It has a setting that tells you all the bikepaths.

    As an a little too heavy, but rather tall elderly man of soon to be 76 I tried to mount my Brompton about a year ago, and lost my balance during that, so I scraped my nose, brow, knees and elbows rather seriously! And left a lot of blood during that! Not to forget my lost pride!!!
    And soon after we had to go to the funeral of an old friend!! So my dear wife won't allow me to take it on a coming vacation, unless I'm able to convince her that it will be essential for my common well being, if not? I have used the time to find out to make it even lighter and hope soon to be able to reach below 9 kilo, still with my 6 gears and mudguards, as a "Rainy Dane"!
    And I have sown leather on my frame and the stem post, to avoid scratches from my shoes during handling. A Brompton leaves much to the customers, with hardly any scratch protection given from the Factory, except some lousy pieces of "clear tape", of which one had been worn through after the first few folds (I found out when giving it some auto polish soon after my buy of a specially flame painted, topmodel "SuperlightM6LXBrompton" in 2019)! Hi Finn Carl Bomholt Sørensen
      I've just found this comment of yours.
      Brompton is a great bike, but it could be better if had a corrosion protection and some thick tape to protect the sensetive parts
      Keep Safe! Keep Riding!

    When I was younger, this was easy on any bike. Now i am over 60, I am much less supple.

    • @JosefMarc
      @JosefMarc Рік тому +2

      I'm 67. You can do this!

    • @ChrisbyBike
      @ChrisbyBike  Рік тому +1

      Hi Dhardingham
      Time passes and our body and mind get stiffer. It is good to have new challenges.
      That's why I wanted to do it to the opposite side like this, I had the same difficulty as a beginner. The simple exercise starts with taking one leg off, and with time you cross it, and with time and with a lot of practice, you put it on the ground.
      It makes the ride smoother.
      Nice to have you on board!

      Hi Josef Marc
      I love to hopp in and of like that. Wich I'll could do it on all my other bikes, but they have higher frames, so it's is not possible.
      Nice to have you on board!

    Great ! I was looking to learn this I've been crossing in the front and I now I know that's where I messed up

    • @ChrisbyBike
      @ChrisbyBike  Рік тому +1

      Hi Densitydad
      I've seen some cyclists crossing their leg in front, but I think crossing from behind is easier as it gives you more time to get off the bike.
      I'm glad you like it!
      Nice to have you on board!

    Hello Chris, when you dismount the bike, have you tried to put your right foot in front of the left one and step on the ground with it first? It seems to me that it could be a little easier because you have nothing in the way, compared with the first method where the right foot has to find it's way between the left foot and the bike ! I think I'll try it myself as well, see how it goes. Best regards, you rock ! 🤘

      @ChrisbyBike  7 місяців тому +1

      Hi Crosca 1982
      Tell me later if it works.
      The reason I pass my right foot to the back of the left foot is because it makes it easy to step on the floor and easy to take the left foot out of the padle.
      Nice to have you on board!

    I tried the left exit drill last week and did it after some practice. It feels so easy and relaxed to do it this way. Rather than lift your leg over the saddle. The hard part of it for me was judging the distance from where I wanted to stop and when I should start the manoeuvre. Practice, practice.Thank you
