  • Installation of rear coil spacers and camber control arms for 2010 Honda Element. This is an instructional video to help install components for a 2.5 inch front and 1.5 inch rear lift spacer and camber kit sold on eBay.
    ((WARNING I had lots of issues with the front end vibrating during acceleration because i pulled the knuckles out of the cv shafts while squeezing the front lifted struts back in. BE CAREFUL NOT TO PULL THE CV AXLES OUT TOO MUCH.))
    ((I'M NOT A MECHANIC)) More like a shade tree mechanic. (INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU OR YOUR VEHICLE BEING DAMAGED)

    Dave, Thanks for your video. I just got done doing a 3 inch front, 1 inch rear lift on my 2011 Honda Element, 4WD. They were a great help. I would like to add some suggestions. Being in the NorthEast, corrosion played a big factor on getting any bolt loose. So having a 1/2" air impact gun, breaker bar with cheater pipe extension, propane torch, all came in to use. Also, since I have 4WD, I bought a MacPherson Strut Spring Compressor Set from Harbor Freight. Item #63262. It was money well spent. I was able to compress the struts which aided greatly in installing them, and not pulling to hard on the CV joints. Your tip on loosening the front stabilizer link on the front install is something that has to be done. Look for the allen key socket in the end of the stud if you are having problems with it rotating. Again.... Thanks!

      No problem. Just glad it can help others that have no instructions with their lift order.

    You actually want to make the adjustable upper arm shorter than the stock one because the control arms are pushed lower making the tires tilt out further.

    Did you ever try the spring rubber) spring spacer?........I saw you point out the camber thing in the back but it doesnt look like it does much. I am having issues with noisy rear bearing when i tow because it seem like the camber is too much and im hoping the spring spacer will help.

    Does anyone know if you can survive without replacing the control arm? My control arms are on there TIGHT! took hours with heat and a air gun and still no luck.

    Coolness Dude! You on the Off--Road elements page on FB? I just did this exact size lift on my E as well, except I made lift blocks and added longer studs to new mounts. One thing I hated to see was the angle of the rear struts once installed with no compression on it. Angle was really wonky!

      bisket2003 unfortunately this element is at the graveyard! It was totaled after a side swipe deployed the air bags and cause some damage. Now were sporting a 2007 Honda ridgeline. Very nice truck with lots of hidden features ahead of its time that would be very useful in other brand pickups to this day. Plus the best part is the center console because the element had none.

      I am vey happy that this install has been so helpful to many. I know I was lost when looking for information on it before purchasing the lift. Couldn't find anything online and thought if I do it I'm going to document it! Apparently I'm on an off road element Facebook page so that tells me its helping allot of people.

    Any issues with the since you installed this? In particular with the the CV joints?

    • @davidhuffman8100
      @davidhuffman8100  5 років тому

      Well the element was totaled about 7 months after install. Side swiped by on coming traffic. As far as the CV joints I had to replace both with newer ones and my problems went away. Be prepared to possibly replace yours if they are older and or if your not careful tugging and pulling on everything.

    is this on the all wheel drive or the front wheel drive model?

    • @davidhuffman8100

      James Rowney this was on a front wheel drive.

      David Huffman would this process be different on the back end of an AWD?

    • @davidhuffman8100
      @davidhuffman8100  7 років тому

      James Rowney I'm sure it would be but it would be involved with the cv axles attached to the rotors. kinda the same thing up front except in the back.

    • @MrHurricaneFloyd
      @MrHurricaneFloyd 6 років тому

      No, it would not be any different. In the Honda Element the rear suspension is identical between the FWD and AWD variants just with the rear axles omitted in the FWD.
