This is far and away the best bd pedal vid I’ve seen. Clear and precise - have to say you’re a product of this century switching from inches to centimetres mid sentence. Love ya work mate 👏🇦🇺✌️

Thanks so much Markie, we appreciate you too! 🙏
Haha love the imperial/metric mix, tyre sizes spring to mind. 195mm tread width on a 6" wide wheel? 😂

A tip. To cancel out the ' Spring Song'. Jam a foam earplug into the spring tube. Annoying in home practice, unless you have the bass drum miked at the pedal during a gig.?? Aka Drummer's Vengeance.

It's possible to play "heel up" without burying the beater, also known as "ankle technique" -- the heel is in the air but the primary motion comes from just moving the foot (rather than the whole leg). Unburying the beater can be achieved by relaxing the ankle/foot when you drop your leg.
Kinda disappointing that you don't mention any of this.

We're really sorry to have disappointed!
This was just a quick video on 3 kick drum tips, can't cover it all unfortunately. You're absolutely correct, you can bury the beater heel down and you can play heel up with rebound, but we just covered the most common applications in this quick overview 🥁

What about burying the beater vs letting it come off the head with every note?

They didn't really address it, they just lumped burying the beater in with heel-up playing. Heel-up tends to lead to burying the beater, but it doesn't have to (see my comment).

Mildly hurtful, but thanks 😂😳 it's really tough to keep white-soled shoes clean in the countryside! No noses were harmed in the making of this lesson, we promise 👃
