I remember once having a conversation with a difficult colleague and when I left their room, I felt totally tired, both physically and emotionally. It took me years to realize it was my pattern of absorbing people's energy. Thank you so much for your guidance. I'm still learning on how to protect my energetic space.
Thanks for posting this cleansing ritual- I have to say- although I just discovered you and The Gay Men's Brotherhood today- I feel like a light is shining - guiding me toward Authenticity-:)
It feels pretentious to me to call myself an empath, although I am a hardcore INFJ, quite sensitive, and meditate on empathy. 😆There is a Buddhist meditation practice we use called “taking and giving,” or tonglen in Tibetan. We imagine taking the negativity out of others and the world by breathing in the imagined black smoke of their negativity. We then give white light by breathing out. When I was a new practitioner, I actually made myself sick doing this. Upon further instruction, I got much more skilled at destroying the negativity and not getting sick. This is a practice that helps cleansing oneself of negativity originating from the outside. We also have internal purification practices that are similar, by releasing our own negativity as imagined black smoke, which approaches an enlightened being, and they destroy our negativity. This kind of speaks to our interconnectedness. These practices can be formal on the cushion or even just moving through one’s life, either by the laity or the ordained. For many hundreds of years, tonglen was a secret practice for only the most realized of the ordained, but we teach it openly now. Also, I love the Star Trek TOS episode titled “The Empath.” ❤🏳🌈🙏
I love this comment and thank you for sharing it. I have no issue calling myself an empath because it is the closest label that can accurately describe my experience of the world. What you call tonglen I call empathic healing. Thank you for all you’re doing to make this world a better place
Oh thank you! Combining techniques can deepen self-awareness. Keep nurturing yourself with these practices. Wishing you continued growth and inner peace on your journey. 💫❤️

Swimming in the Caribbean sea, my greatest blessing. The salt water completely cleanses my aura and brings me home to awareness of oneness in love. ❤
Wonderful!
I feel like if we were next door neighbors, we would be BFFs. ❤🔥🏳🌈Thank you for all that you do to help our gay brothers.
🙏❤️🌈

I sometimes practice a cleansing visualisation called "shower of light". But I find your advise very helpful too ❤

Is it really that simple?
Everything is intentional. Do you want it to be that simple?
GO OUT AND DO SOMETHING FOR YOURSELF GO INTO NATURE AWAY FROM THINGS AND PEOPLE
