😂😂🤣
Keep dreaming 😄

Great
I'm a huge Nirvana fan and so getting a Mustang was a dream come true.
I think if I buy this guitar, learning (or re-learning) Nirvana riffs will be the first priority. ;-)
I used to own an original 1966 Mustang. That thing sounded great, but it refused to stay in tune. The squire will be much more reliable. I'm still sad I sold the '66 though...
I’m about to buy one of these actually
@@creamydistortion I only know three notes of Come as you are as I am a newb. I don't play it with a Chorus though as I need a pedal for that but the kind for his sound are expensive (not all Chorus pedals are created equally).
@@generalawareness101 I got a sweet little Moskey Analog Chorus, with a bit of flange to it. $20 or so, here in China.
I love this guitar. Got it to get back into guitar after I sold my old one due to financial issues. This thing is awesome. I'm a big Rock N Roll guy, which its great for. Easy to learn on too.
Rock on!
I grabbed one off the rack randomly to try out an amp.
I quickly forgot about the amp and was amazed just how much fun this little guitar was.
FF a few weeks and GC had them on sale for $129, I snapped a white one up so fast.
So happy I did! Quickly becoming one of my favorites.
My fretboard was dry as heck.
FF has the sunburst on sale for 129 dollars because they sold out the blue ones to scum bags on EBay in multiple guitars.
Next time you change your strings , run some furniture grade steel wool up and down the fretboard. Don't be afraid to dig in a little. This will remove stickiness and grit. After that, oil the fingerboard. Most people recommend lemon or mineral oil. Olive oil works too. Makes a difference.
@@kennybluet5527 wholeheartedly agree, Kenny. I just did the same on the Bullet Telecaster and it plays just as good as guitars that I own that hover around $500 or so.
Yep. Indian laurel fretboards are dry. I use f one oil. Works really good. I had to file down the frets as well.
Mine to. Onna squire sea foam green STRATOCASTER... But damn WOW what a guitar. Even the employees were throwing a $4,000 custom shop next to me while I was playing 186 dollar squier strat and it didn't compare I was on fire killing that Stratocaster you can do everything on that from Stevie Ray and Robin trower and I've been playing 40 years and believe me you couldn't tell the difference between this guitar as a matter of fact The squire sounded better than the custom shop fender and that's a fact even the employees were like I think they got a little upset some of the younger employees not the older employees the older employees understood that it's the player not the guitar you know the younger employees after I went in there the next couple days later and we're like you know giving me snobby attitude so well I'm sorry that I played well and blew the doors off of you what do you want me to do you know it's how I play sorry it's not my fault it couldn't be cool about it you know like some of the older a manager is an owners where they were very cool with me but anyway that's my own s*** so I just don't understand you know it's I went in there I f****** slayed on 186 fender squier strat and they were pissed the younger employees some of them most of them
So I’m not much of a guitar person, but I’m getting into it now, and this review really helped me know what to start with, looking forward to getting it and learning it
Glad it helped!! 🎸🎸
Good review . Lot of truth here. I've got two of these . I've been playing for almost 60 years and these are my main gigging guitars. The short scale is extremely comfortable for an old geezer like me and the tone is phenomenal plugged straight into a Fishman Mini Loudbox. Cuts through the mix very well. For humbuckers they sound almost single coil---like . Especially the middle position. Got some quack to it . Absolutely love 'em.
Thank you for making these videos so clear!! I have watched so many trying to decide on my first electric and this is the first series that makes sense to me as someone who has only played acoustic lol
Glad it helped! This would be a great first electric for you or the bullet telecaster is also a good choice. Rock on!
This was one of my first guitars. Electric anyways. I bought it about 9 months ago and believe me you should definitely buy one I'm surprised they don't call starting for at least $250 because of the humbucking pickups in them
The lightweight design is great! Just really happy with it.
🎸🎸🎸
Wow, I didnt know Jonah Hill is such a good guitar player.
Do you mean jonah hill
@@seemeethanator1444 I did. Guess I didnt see it autocorrect.
STFU!
@@dadasha chill dude, it was just a joke!
these are great gigging guitars as well, i've borrowed a friends one for a couple gigs and they play like a dream live
I have a Bullet Mustang in Imperial Blue. I modded the crap out of it with P90s, white pearl pickguard with P90 cutouts, copper shielding, locking tuners, roller trees, blue metal control knobs and I shimmed the neck to pitch it back slightly. I also have the new Sonic Mustang SS in Torino red with most of the same mods (except I kept the single coil pickups.)
The stock pickups on a Bullet Mustang are the best humbuckers you'll find on a budget guitar. I switched mine out for P90s, but I put the stock humbuckers on my cheap Glarry imitation of a Mustang (GMF HH) and they sound great on that guitar too.
found one of these in a guitar shop, exact color. went home with it the same day.
Had one for a couples of years. Still my go-to sofa guitar. New strings, polished frets and lemon-oiled the fretboard. Sweet. I like the matt neck too. 👍🏻
I just got my mustang and I love it! definitely a good beginner guitar!! (^:
Sweet!!!! What color did you get?
I am about to turn 40 years old that I am finally getting into a guitar playing and learning. This was actually my second guitar. I got the black and white one. I love this guitar because it is like the style Kurt Cobain used to use a lot. And it is very lightweight and durable. I would not change a thing except making the plastic knobs Chrome or metal. And that's just about it
@@bsideguitar I got the black and white one. What a great beginner guitar lightweight and durable
The Mustang is more than a beginner guitar.
@@timculhane625 The black knobs are gualky.
I have the 2020 Squier Bullet Strat and Tele. Both fantastic guitars which I gig with regularly. I need to get this for the trifecta. Love the light weight and the short scale neck.
You need to make it happen!!!
This guitar has a way louder output than my $3,000 strat. I lnow louder doesn’t mean better but I was actually surprised at how good it sounds for the price I got it for.
I don’t know how or why but this guitar and the pickups to my ears, are siiiiick. Like palm mites are so crisp, there’s no sort of noise..I genuinely like this guitar better than my 7 string Ibanez and contemporary tele with a hotrail humbucker
I just bought a 2020 in black for £90 and love it .Basswood body on mine is super light 5.7lb and Now I'veI fitted locking tuners ro;ller string trees and a TusqXL nut it plays like a dream. My fret board is darker but made it even darker with Monty's Montypresso Relic wax ,it brings out the grain too .Yeah I taped over the pick ups and polished the frets on my Squier with steel wool .Such a great little guitar ,can't put it dowm...
Bought one of these for £80. It's a fantastic guitar.
$179? I waited for them to go on sale for $119 and got myself one. Nice video.
Where did you get it?😊
@@Lucia-fz3bg Musician's Friend at the beginning of the summer.
@@801guitar3 did you have any issues ordering from Musician’s Friend? I want to order this guitar from their website but I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews about their service 😖
@@caylacummings1954 I have always had good experiences with them. When you buy something from them, open the customer service chat and tell them what you want and ask if they will tack on the 15% off coupon they almost always have running. I have found that they will let you use the coupon even on things that the coupon isn't supposed to work on.
lucky you, it costs 200$ in my country also the Squier Strat😪
I own a Fender Jazzmaster and I feel like buying this so I can modify it. Thanks for your review! 🎸🎧
It's funny people modify guitars better than they are players.
I am leading worship at a smaller camp this summer, so bringing a thinline tele and a huge amp isnt ideal so I got this little thing and should have a little bit of fun
These guitars have the most comfortable neck I've ever played. 24" with a 12" radius & super thin. Almost as thin as a Wizard neck. Too bad they only come in kiddie colors. Would be amazing to have a higher end version.
I’ve been to rockin robin a bunch of times mostly bc I like their signature picks, cool to see the shirt
The headstock looks gigantic!
@ x00p3... I cut the headstock on my Mustang down to a more Tele-like shape on the end, giving it a 13/16" radius. This removed just over 5/8" of wood from the bottom edge of the bulbous CBS Strat-style end lobe of the headstock, as measured opposite the high E tuner. To rejoin with the edge of the headstock under the logo, which I left as-is, I gave it a smooth concave transition that is centered opposite to the B tuner. You'd be surprised how sweet this looks and it's much more proportional with the body. Some folks like the big headstock but to me it just overpowers this sleek little guitar. If you've done any woodworking, this is a simple mod that can be done with very basic handtools and sandpaper, and the raw edge refinishes nicely with matte wiping poly. Reply if you'd like advice on exactly how to do this. It's not too difficult and it really looks great on the Mustang.
@@markpell8979hey mate, did this help with the neckdive the Mustang has? My Mustang neckdives bad, I'm thinking cutting down the headstock and putting on some lightweight tuners could help. Otherwise I'm gonna try to put some weight in the body. This is my first guitar but idm modding it 😅
@@lucasjames8281Reducing weight/neck dive was not my goal, it was just for looks, but I removed about 3oz of wood from the headstock and that's about 3% of the guitar's weight removed from the farthest end of it. "Gravity never sleeps" so I guess every bit of mass reduction helps counter neck dive. I also added shielding tape to all the body cavities and I guess that added a few ounces to the body. Like you, I have considered adding mass to a guitar's body to make it balance, and with a Mustang starting out just over 6lbs you could add pretty much dead weight before it got too heavy. Maybe attach a couple lead fishing weights to the wood behind the control plate? You mention using lighter tuners- it is surprising how heavy a set of tuners is! But the ones on my Mustang work so good I left 'em alone.
I just got mine today and for 196$ with a gig bag and strap not too bad, I’m impressed
Rockin Robin here in Houston. Cool!
Love it! I was there 3 years ago :)
How beautiful your guitar is
When I bought this guitar I didn't have a clue what I was getting because I never heard of a Mustang by Fender or Squires but Musicians Friend stupid deal of the day it was a FSR Limited Edition artic white Squires Bullet Mustang and it matched my Bullet Strat and I just received my stimulus check and they had 2 left so I bought it in two days free shipping and I tuned it up it was a beast in sound and the girl I rented from yells turn that down running through my new Spark 40 and it was a HT just like my Bullet Strat HSS HT. Unfortunately my Bullet FSR Limited Edition Tele was the Red Sparkle with and universal bridge for string through or HT. Coincidentally I received a duplicate Spark 40 but that's another long story.
These were originally 150 brand new a year ago. I was upset when they upped the price $30 within a year. They sometimes have sales at 129 but now I just buy em used for $100 or so and Mod they hell out of them then sell. They go fast!
I grabbed a couple when they were $99. I absolutely love the neck. It's the only guitar on the market with a 24" neck with a 12" radius. And it's really thin.
The only thing I MIGHT change would be a heavy wound single coil on the neck.... but that's a sweet sounding slab o lumber.
That is the weakest link of this. What would you suggest in its place?
@@generalawareness101 I'm not sure... I know a guy who makes some really good pups... ... But my ego would make me try to make my own (despite having varied success with my wraps)
@@stephenmosack4496 I purchased some 42 gauge for some other stuff (not enough feet to do a PUP) and I can't work with it as it breaks if I even look at the stuff. The 32 gauge is much easier to work with but far too large for a PUP.
Just tried one today at GC - felt fabulous - Tag on the guitar said 24.75 inch scale -
Great guitar to learn the thumb over chords.
Squire makes beautiful guitars along side fender
Aren't they the same brand? Like the brand Fender makes both?
@@Random_Fanatic fender makes better quality instruments. Squire is entry level or something to have around the house. I cherish my fender Stratocaster while I use my squire Mustang as a guitar I can take around to beat and gig with
my fav guitar guy
You don’t look old enough to remember the B side. But as soon as I saw the name and I play and love Guitar. I just had be a Subscriber. Rock on, my Man Bsiide
Actually I just Bought a Classic Vibe Mustang, it’s pretty Sweet.
Rocking Robin! Such a wonderful place!
I have the same one, same color. 2018 though, and it was the GC floor model so i haggled it down to 120. Was gonna change the pickups but decided against it because the stock ones are pretty versatile if you know how to use your tone and volume knobs. All i did to it was put in a tortoise shell pickguard
Where did you purchase it from as I want to add some mods and need some spare pick guards.
I have expensive Gibson's as fenders but this guitar gets just as much use as those guitars. Imo the pickups are actually awesome. The bridge is bright and articulate even with high gain. Pinch harmonics are a breeze. I think everyone replaced them because it's a cheap guitar. A lot of those people might praise those pickups if it were a more expensive guitar. All perception.
Mustang with a tele neck looks sexy to me. Any option out there like this?
You can do a really easy neck swap if you buy both the Bullet Tele and Mustang or I think there's something close to what you're looking for in the Squier Parallel Universe series
Build one..
I have that bullet mustang in blue imperial color
Really want one of these so I can upgrade the pickups and have a nice gigging guitar that won’t be a thief magnet
Buddy, I’m 42 and have been playing since 1992. Since i was 12, 30 years ago. I own vintage guitars older than my parents. Probably older than your parents as well. This little beater couch guitar or beginner guitar as it’s being sold is a serious little contender with a heavyweight tone. Chunky sound yet still proportioned. The indian laurel fretboard has to have something to do with the fat tone. Mo way i can prove it, but it’s what I suspect. Pickups are quiet but hot, and I suspected i would have needed to replace the pots and tone capacitor, but nope! However, the tuners do suck in all honesty.i just keep a Snark tuner on the headstock for minor adjustments between songs . This is a classic vintage guitar in the making because it’s so cheap, most people are gonna trash theirs so the few that will remain intact will be worth something someday, when I’ll be long dead.
Thanks man! I’ve been looking for a beginners el-guitar on the internet for a while. This helped me make a decision: I will buy the squier bullet mustang HH :) . Btw, the squier mini jazz master HH looks almost identical. Is there a big difference between those two?
Thanks for the review Jonah Hill!!
I have this guitar really it’s song very nice
For the price it is really really nice!
i wonder if they make those specific hundred dollar squire necks dry as a desert on purpose because it would come across too good for the price and demolish the sales of higher priced guitars or if it’s just naturally budgeted that way
Shoenice has cleaned up his act
I dont know whether to get the bullet mustang or the bullet stratocaster 🤔
i’m in the same position
@@jazizq i ended up getting the mustang, its a grungier look
@inc3sticide_ MUSTANG way less generic, way less people have it, humbuckers are a little more universal. This was my 2nd guitar a few years ago, I've done mods since, but this is definitely not a guitar I regret buying years later, I probably would have regretted the strat your talking about
@@reece_v0391 good choice lol, also its shorter scale than strat (24 and 25.75) so easier to play
@@grvhntr3003 thats true, im a little annoyed though, i ordered it over a month ago and it was set to be delivered on the 11th of march, then it got delayed to the 16, then a day later delayed to the 30th. The wait is killing me lol
will it sound nice if i play hendrix / floyd / mitski / cigarettes after sex ? great review!
I'm not going to do anything as far as moding because I have the Strat HSS and Tele Squires!
Awesome! Which colors did you get?
@@bsideguitar I bought the white Limited Edition to match my Bullet Strat! What is a limited edition because it's been out for a couple years and I paid 129 dollars as a introductory guitar 🎸 because they said it's better than the first one!
Very cool! So stoked for you!
In my opinion that there's absolutely nothing to change except for the plastic knobs. Maybe change them to metal. But it is just perfect as it is out of the box and for the $179 I paid for it was just too good of a deal to pass up

*What was the weight of it.?* I cant believe i am saying it: I find my Strat a bit too heavy :O (not as much as a LP obvi) but a pound or two less would be awesome :)
Mine is on the way here on Wed and the weight is less than 6 pounds compared to my Alder Squier Stratocaster that weighs almost 10 pounds. I lifted this in the shop and almost threw it because I was not expecting it to be this light. Plays fantastic.
It's a great guitar 🎸
Sweet!
What size strings goes best with this guitar??
It comes from the factory with 9-42s, so you can’t go wrong with those ;) if you want to get a little more bite, you could easily go to a 10 set.
5Box Music thank you
11s to get similar tension to a strat, 9s are too light
Idk, to take this one or the ibanez grx 70qa?
Def go with the mustang. Unless you're a shredder guy. Then go Ibanez.

Honestly you will not go wrong with the Mustang bullet Squier. It is the best guitar I ever had and for $179 brand new out of the box is unbelievable
@@timculhane625 I decided, I will take the

The best for me 👌
Cant decide on one of these or a jazzmaster mini
It appears they changed the graphics on the headstock
yo what colour is that ?
what strings would you put on that mustang?
I would put 10s on it but if someone is new to playing I would go with 9s.
On the Mustang I put Ernie Ball 8"s earth strings for a longer sustain. Everyone is different.
I like 10s or 11s, any lighter on a shortscale makes it feel like rubberbands
Until the last few times you played, I had a difficult time hearing the difference between the pickups. How does the bullet compare to the affinity?
Thanks for the feedback, I will keep that in mind for future videos. At this time, to the best of my knowledge, the Mustang does not have an "affinity" version.
@@bsideguitar Thanks! I mean what's the difference between the Fender Squier Mustang Bullet and the Fender Squier Affinity electric guitar? I have the Affinity and it looks close to the Mustang Bullet.
Gotcha ;) ... the Affinity (generally speaking) movs up to and Alder body (vs Poplar in the Bullet) and better electronics.
@@bsideguitar Thanks!
There's 2 types of the Affinity. One has the string through body with the maple fingerboard. The other HAS the rosewood FB and the string at the bridge. One is China and the other is Indonesia made.

what tuning does this guitar shine in because of neck length?

Would this guitar be good for math rock(genre)
So I finally bought this guitar and I tuned it and used my squire amp , the tuning said it was perfect, but the sound was worse than any 50 dollar guitar I've played. It sounded like it had the guts but the strings were not tuned even though they were. Any thoughts much appreciated
Is it set up properly?
Yeah..new nut. Plastic nuts suck.
Maybe you should get thicker strings! Considering Mustangs are usually shorter, the strings tend to stretch more causing it to go out of tune, make sure to have it set up properly as well (PS. I recommend gauge 10s on mustangs)
Did it improve with the set up and the string change?
