      Definitely not true dude the downfall is these mainstream shows tryna get social media traction with their shitty takes.I like youtubers who actually talk in depth about sports where it's at times less filtered and definitely more variety in different topics then the same 5 things all day everyday for years

      The pattern of narrative driven MSM across the board is disturbing. Everyone with differing opinions on social media only highlights the issue… one is by design and one they try to censor.

    This is so accurate, incredibly well done. I remember shows like NBA Coast to Coast and others where it had analysts do what they actually get paid to do...talk sports. As you said, now I listen to creators on this platform 99/100 compared to TV sports networks.

    Rachel Nichols’ conversation was “leaked” because they wanted to move on from her and decided to throw her under the bus to make it an easy break.
    But the funny thing is that Rachel Nichols was hired in the first place because she was a diversity hire. It’s just that she was getting older and they decided to replace her with a younger, moderately attractive woman… except this time, she’s black! So it was hilarious to see Nichols get upset over being replaced by someone who was hired for the exact same reason she was.
    Sports networks love to do this, put a woman in the middle of a man’s sport, give her some cleavage, let her mediate and guide some broadcasts, rinse and repeat as soon as the woman can be replaced by someone a little younger and more attractive.
    Personally, I miss Lesley Visser on the NFL sidelines. She was reporting until she was dirt old but nobody cared because we all loved her. That was back in a simpler time when networks weren’t catering to the 19 perverts watching the game just to see a young woman. Pam Oliver was another recent woman who got screwed over and replaced by a younger woman for no reason.
    Sports networks are so shady, it all sucks now.

    Espn hasn't been watchable in forever. Shit all network sports talk shows to be completely honest. There are too many good podcasts and content creators to suffer through ESPN's BS today. Like I used to be able to sit my little 8 year-old ass down and watch ESPN all damn day in my room. It was on a constant loop and the content then was so fun and enjoyable and most importantly it was kind of informative. They had debates, talked it out like adults and that was that. When somebody had a "heated" argument it was exciting because it wasn't an EVERYDAY thing lol.

  • @logicaldude3611
    @logicaldude3611 Рік тому +1

    The problem is that “analysis” is based more on hot takes and clickbait now than anything else. If you absolutely suck as an analyst, it actually helps the company because it provides more views and more advertising money.
    You’ll notice how networks have gone completely towards shock jocks or two guys intentionally taking opposite opinions in order to create controversy (and therefore, views). That’s also a part of the reason you see politics infiltrating sports coverage so frequently.
    You’re better off listening to a random UA-camr.

    I think the biggest issue facing ESPN is that cable TV is an outdated business model. Cable packages are way too expensive given all of the cheaper options out there today. In order to compensate for the lost revenue from canceled subscriptions, ESPN keeps increasing the cost of a cable subscription. You don't have to be a business genius to see how this only furthers the cancelations, creating an eventual death spiral for the company. ESPN needs to better adapt to the current media landscape, or they will face extinction.

    • @KratostheThird
      @KratostheThird Рік тому

      The era of cable was the late 1980’s to the early 2000’s.
      Whether or not cable itself is dead is another discussion. I’m not spending my money to watch a bunch of children in their 40’s and 50’s spout off about nonsense.
      Podcasts and smaller YT channels that cover sports do a far better job.

    First the world has become too complicated to simply escape into sports at this point.. Secondly, it really is just ESPN that has fallen completely into the toilet.. I think that most people still love watching Skip and Shannon on Fox.. I won't even watch a UA-cam video if I see Stephen A. Smith's face. Lastly, both ESPN and Fox are going to have to find a way to incorporate Sports UA-camrs into their telecasts.. I dont really care about the persons politics but normally when people say i dont talk about politics what they meant is i dont wanna yalk about x and y and z topics.
