I was sold at "bought this car for myself, not to make a buck on it"...that is always the right reason to buy a car.

Had a similar acquisition and did the distributors, plugs, wires, and valve adjust and new aluminum billet valve covers with three overhauled injectors. Knocked out 90% percent of the and runs much better. Yes that was fun while in the car, but a Quick-Jack helped alot.. She is back on the perch (QJ) now awaiting a new flexible hydraulic hose for the clutch, but the other lasted 31 years, so can't complain. Requiring a lot of love now, but my gosh what a solid car that Porsche built...

Don’t forget the 30yo fuel lines too. Car fire is one of my fears so that was on the top of my list. I agree after buying my Quick Jack doing work is so much easier

Lovely car, the best version of the classic Porsche. Good luck with the repairs and upgrades. A rare find these days!

Interesting and well presented. Will gladly follow. Previous owner of a 993 and now Carrera T. The 993 had 150.000 km and low in maintenance and repairs. These are solid cars.

It’s interesting that the title says it came from Germany because it was most likely first sold in Japan or the UK. Nice find and welcome to the 964 owners community.

great video, I can tell this is the first in a long series. I bought a 993 for the same reason and no matter how many little things there are, driving is still a blast!

If I may add one thing as a fellow owner. First mods should be a fire extinguisher. And definitely look into your fuel lines they are in the engine bay a a few just under the intake manifold. A lot of people over look this or wait until they need to do the engine. Which sometimes can be too late after the engine catches fire. I had to have my engine resealed when I first bought mine which turned into a full build so it was on the list. Food for thought.

    Good Luck. I have 964 C4 92.
Lots of upgrade options on these car with regards to exhaust, suspension etc. If that is all that is wrong with it you found a bargain.

Good luck with the work. I got a 964 last year at a good price as well and have been working on it over winter. Condition was not as bad as yours (I paid more as well). The engine mounts need to be replaced as well from seeing the video. Also replace the transmission mount. Both are very easy to do and will change the feel of the car dramatically. Good luck!

*I always wanted a 964 (or any air cooled 911 really) but the only 911 I could afford to buy was a 996. I figured that Porsche will have tried hard to make them drive every bit as well as any air cooled 911's and I wasn't wrong. I think even their looks have got better with age and owning any 911 is better than not owning one! I look forward to seeing what you do with this. Will you keep it as 4 wheel drive or convert to 2 wheel?*

These look like Cup II wheels, which were original to the 993. The 964 had Cup I wheels, which have flatter spokes and were all 16" in the normally aspirated cars (turbos had 17"). Good luck with the restore. Looking forward to more videos.
