Yes, a webshop with dog accessories, a coding YT channel + Patreon & digital products, freelance as main. Raising: saved up, took my losses on digital currenc and put it towards my webshop + freelance work. I started my Portugal channel by now @fleedum
I've tried a goat and sheep business, never made any money, but not only i managed to minimise to close to nothing the work and cost of cleaning up the bush in my property for the fire season, as i've been self sufficient on meat for a few years. In the end, it payed the cost of buying the animals and building a few shacks and fences, and just a little dose of ration (seeds, not flours), as they grased free all they long. Maybe i try it again one day. Or go for some other animals. I've also thought about breeding dogs, but what do i do if nobody buys them? i can't eat dogs. It would be a true loss.
I have watched many property videos set in Italy, France and Portugal. And many of the properties that are in decent knick--Still need a quick Power Wash. A ten minute wash and on average--who knows a 5-10% higher realized sales price? Market that to agents plus everyone else.
If you have skills, there is plenty of money to be made in Portugal working for (mostly retired) expats. I mean odd jobs, like plumbing, gardening, building garden structures etc etc. The expats i know have endless trouble dealing with unreliable Portuguese workers who often try to fleece them. Basically, an extension of your man with a van idea. Obviously, I have not done this. I have the practical skills of a small pebble. Another idea would be to set up a service installing and helping set up starlink in rural areas (for expats - the Portuguese would never pay). MEO is the dominant player in the countryside and I know a lawfirm in a nearby town and the only type of case they work on involves people trying to escape from MEO contracts and the various charges etc. Getting people off MEO and into an alternative is like an open goal.

I know a guy who has yapped about starting a woodchipping business for years but he can't afford the machine... hire it, I told him... I'd lose half the profit, he said... You just can't help some people.
I have spent last few years getting re educated and learning new skills ready for Portuguese life ❤ next few weeks I'm pulling them all together to start something special for me 😊😊 I'm nervous and excited but if I work hard at it and give it my all at least I have tried 😃😃😃 if your new business is traffic control in the village I will bring you out a cuppa during your very busy schedule 😂😂😂

How about starting growing hash in Portugal, The land is so cheap there and plenty of water. Do you think that would work as a business idea?
