Thank you for a clear instructions, I’m going to try this now,I love the polka dot purple strep.
Hi I really liked the video but I wanted to see a plantlet actually lifted from the mother leaf and potted. I have reached the stage you end with, but don't know what to do now!
I love the yellow and tinge of white Zlotko ! Thanks for your tips!
My pleasure
Just looked up Zlotko. That's zingy.
Hoping this works well for me! My cape primrose got knocked over in the middle of the night and it broke off 4 huge leaves from it and while I was devastated at first, it gave me the courage to try to propagate them. If I followed this tutorial correctly, I should have cape primrose plants taking over my house!!!
This is the first time hor me to try this. Thanks for showing how to do it. Please
And REILLY enjoyed your demonstration. Thank you
Excellent Presentation Leigh...I always enjoy, you make it very clear...🍀🍀🍀🤗
You are going to need to buy a streptocarpus now. 😉
GreenTipsGarden Yes...they have a beautiful flower on them also...I have put your cactus in a bigger pot...I hope it will do well...🌵

Is any month a good month !! Great video will have to try this thanks for your time 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Well I have grow-lamps so they provide sufficient light all year round. I took my cuttings in the autumn and they were fine. But they may struggle with lower light levels in winter. However these have so many leaves I'd say give it a go any time of year.
Is one way faster than the other?
Hi unfortunately I've only been able to find a red and pale lavender here where we live In Velddrif Western Cape South Africa ❤
Thank you so much! Where could I acquire either seeds or cuttings of that dark purple - Targa? I live on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. I started some from seed, though none as vibrant as the dark purple I once had. Thanks
Hi Jane, I don't think these would come true from seed. You'd need to find a local retailer.
Hi. Could I use the vein rather than the leaf? Also, would this work with primroses and cow slips? Thanks.
Hey Mark, I've seen a variety of methods in propagating Streps, but they all involve the leaf. But the growth seems to focus around the veins. I don't think you could use just the veins. Regarding primroses honestly I don't know if the same method would work, but usually they are propagated vegetativly by division. Which you can usually do once a year. Let me know if that helps
How often do you water the cuttings?
After the initial watering, I seal them in a bag. So they don't need additional water. I open the bag occasionally to check them and freshen the air.
My Streptococcus propagating leaves turn brown.
How do you remove the plantlets from the leaves to plant them please?
Once the planlets have grown a little either the original leaf dries up, or you can remove them from the soil and gently pull them apart from the original leaf.
