I think the fights they've had are amazing on this show. They look so real, you just cringe thinking someone's really going to get hurt. They really know what they're doing. Thanks for this!

Great fight scenes and analysis from Aidan! You see what it takes to pull off a convincing fight scene. And the resets!

I found it interesting that he mentioned that he was being difficult in that scene. In an interview I heard Eleanor say that both she and Aidan are very stubborn and didn't always agree on how to play a scene. But when they're interviewed separately they always say very complimentary things about each other. I hope, or would like to believe, that they liked each other off screen. I would often see Eleanor and other cast members socializing and Aidan was seldom with them and they would say, "has anyone heard from Aidan?" He does seem to work a lot, going from one project to another. I do think that the cast members got a little annoyed over constantly being asked about the scything scene. Anyway, I hope they all get along and I would love to see a reunion of the entire cast someday.

Since they shoot the drama for a long period of time, as they repeatedly mentioned each season took them six months to shoot, whether it's because they're really tired or they might face other issues in their personal life I think it's natural for these actors to get into some sort of conflict with each other from time to time. Just like how it might happen between us and any of our colleagues when we work in one place for a long time. But I believe, generally they were okay with each other that's why they had such a great chemistry and also the show went on for five seasons, which I think it's rare for a BBC show to go on for more than four or three seasons. I believe all of them got along well and enjoyed doing the show. About the scything scene, I bet Aidan himself was also sick of hearing about it over and over again and whenever he's been asked related questions you can see in his face how annoyed he is. I've never seen him trying to show off about his physicality or looks on camera and he seems kinda embarrassed whenever they bring that up. Maybe that's why after first season he didn't show up in that many interviews unless they were bts interviews for pbs. Because in every goddamn interview they kept asking him these nonsense questions.

@@zahrablythe3376 If you have seen some of Aidan's other films, the man is not shy about taking his shirt off or any other clothes for that matter. IE:. Desperate Romantics, And Then There We're None, Hattie. He is a phenomenal actor but I do think it was a shame that the scything seen overshadowed the real point and that was Demelza on the morning after sleeping with Ross for the first time and seeing him in a totally different light.
Eleanor is a wonderful actor and I'm sure playing opposite each other only served to help them both raise their level of performance. I don't feel that Eleanor received the recognition she deserved for taking the role of Demelza from an urchin to Lady of Nampara....an unbelievable transition.

I think Jack who plays George is a great actor the charismatic Aidan attracted fans and they did not pay attention to him which is unfair as he is great as well

"Go back to your scullery maid". (or "please punch me")

I just finished watching Poldark a bit ago. Why is Ross so offended when someone refers to Demelza as his scullary maid when it is plain to see she is much more than that?
He claims he is indifferent to the standards of the gentry. Seems not so indifferent to me.

People (mostly George) spoke about Demelza, in a rude and derogatory way - that made him feel offended on her behalf.

I guess when he tells George he is indifferent to gentry standards, George makes a mental note..ah-ha a button of Ross's to push. Ha.
