One of the best series ever made... brilliant cast...great love story...amazing script... brilliant sets... terrific character actors... I can’t think of any show that had so many seasons that mesmerized me so... he was truly the most gorgeous manly hero that made it all so intoxicating to watch... the series is unbelievable!!!
Thank you for posting this to UA-cam! I especially enjoyed Aidan's discussion of his efforts to create a voice and manner of speech for Ross. As I have commented elsewhere, what I really love about Aidan's invocation of Ross is how completely he extinguished his own exuberance and body language to create a persona and a physical presence for Ross that stands independent of his real self as Aidan. That is his brilliance as an actor.
I remember the original 1970s Poldark, and I begged PBS to "bring it back" for many years! Now, I just wonder how I ever LIVED without the present version! It's going to be a long, hard wait until "some time in 2017." I'm 85 now, and I MUST live long enough to see more POLDARK. Better yet, make it multiple, please! What I wish for ALL of us is Part 3, and then, 4, and 5, whatever! I'm a confirmed addict with no chance of a cure anytime soon!
+Elaine Cummings/ Oh, I do agree. I believe the story can appeal to everyone regardless of age. Living in Sweden I have not seen the 70's version, but this version got me hooked at once. I wanted to find the books but they are not for sale in any bookshops here. I have found part 1-7 in the library though!! I guess I will have to order the remaining 5 books online. Debbie Horsefield has made an outstanding adaptation of the books - and the casting is excellent. Fingers crossed for as many adaptations as possible!
I know how you feel. I'm 70, and you never know what's going to happen. I just hope I live long enough to see the entire series. But my mom is 98, so you have a good chance of living long enough to see them all. People do seem to live long lives these days.
I've been reading the books, too. But I'm only a little into the third book. I must say, I like the adaptation better. What can I say? It's just so gorgeous! And then there's Aidan Turner! LOL But the books are the ultimate spoilers, and I like my dramas dramatic. Hard to be that way when you already know what's going to happen.
NordicLight365 I'm pretty sure it's going to keep going. As more people discover it through various outlets like Amazon Prime or just sitting in a rack at Cosco, it can only grow in popularity, seems to me.
Aidan really impressed me with his thoughtful responses, and warmth. I am so glad someone of such quality was found, to play Poldark, to do justice to these excellent books. All the better that Robin Ellis, who played Ross Poldark in the first rendition, which I saw as a young teen in the late 1970's, also played a role in the rendition with Aidan. I highly recommend the rendition starring Robin Ellis as well. Worth owning both Aidan's and Robin's renditions on DVD. I plan to explore Aidan's other roles too, including And Then There Were None. Thank you for providing these wonderful interviews!
I love him. He's so beautiful ❤️💙😍. His voice... I just melted....He did such a great job playing Ross Poldark. The dialogue in this show is very captivating. I was hooked. I didn't think I'd like but I can't stop now. He's so awesome. The story is just beautiful in itself.
Before they started filming the first series they visited East pool mine and I gave them all a guided tour of the engine house and I treated Aidan like a normal person not a celebrity and he loved it
It’s always great when you like a character, in this case Poldark, to find the actor is charming and honest and committed to the part they are playing.
hes lovely , gorgeous and love his sense of humour, love his accent, but love his english accent that makes him sound sexier as ross, but who cares hes a good actor who happens to be beautiful too, love everything ive seen him in.
Aidan Turner is a fabulous actor and very very good looking , his interviews are honest and entertaining , he has a very natural confident personality , this guy is up there with the Brad Pitts and George Clooneys of this world , Love him xxxxxxxx
I love watching Aidan interviews. Aidan and Eleanor were the perfect couple. Excellent choice of people to play these characters. Poldark was one of my most favorite show. I never missed an episode and had a difficult time waiting for the next episode. So sad it has ended. ❤️
Barb Samples I’ve always said this is the most excellently cast show I’ve ever seen. I’m sixty, so I’ve seen quite a few. Everyone! is just PERFECT. Kudos to the casting director/s.
Aidan has so many flavors, like sometimes he looks clean cut, then he looks like goofy, nice guy, then he looks angry and brooding. He must just a really expressive face.
What I think is so great about Aidan Turner -- his character is so serious, but in real iife he can scarcely contain his glee about his work. I love the part where he talks about Robin Ellis who was amazing in the original Poldark. Aidan Turner definitely does the part justice.
Have been in love with Captain Ross since the original series but Aiden is such a great actor his facial expressions are so in character. The depths of emotion show in his eyes. Brilliant series again need to watch it all again.
Aiden has a lovely Irish voice I could listen to him all day and his accent on poldark is spot on.He really is a good actor very unique and his smile makes me smile and happy thank you Aiden I would really like to meet him one day. Anita Barnes
It's AIDAN, not Aiden!! to all of you who fancy him will you please spell his name correctly, as the other Aiden is USA celeb!! sorry but it really bugs me when fans talk about him in such a nice fashion but get the spelling of his name wrong!
I love this show. Let's hope it continues to cover all of the books . As well as the acting such stunning production values . Watching Demelza waltzing across the beautiful Cornish countryside with her red hair flowing through the wind. The red hair was Eleanor's idea. Not only a brilliant actress but talented in making sure she had the right look. Aidan brilliant to , acting , looks make up . He is the perfect Poldark
I heard Eleanor adopted red hair as a nod to Angharad Rees who played Demelza in the 70s version. She might end up keeping it. She says she really likes it now.
Speaking as a Cornishman, this series ticks all of the boxes for me. Casting brilliant, photography stunning, locations just perfect, the opening titles & vision mixing has created the dark mystery associated with the era, I would have loved to have been part of this crew. Only one very minor observation, why not a mention or even sight of the ubiquitous Cornish Pasty? Thanks actors & behind scenes crew.
OMG, that scything scene triggered me as well, same with the wood splitting. I can hear my grandpa's voice in my ear, saying "that's not how it's done." LOL
Checking him out as possible James Bond. Yes, he's got the looks. Reminds me a bit of Timothy Dalton. Lots of acting experience too. I bet he's offered at least a test.
Woah, yeah. Turner would be perfect! I was just thinking recently, there's literally nobody touted for James Bond who even looks right. Some have little schoolboy voices, some are terrible actors or have no screen presence and some are in their 50s already. This could be our man...
Think you for sharing with us the behind the scenes look of Poldark. It really takes a lot of hard work . The performing Arts is a lot of hard work. They sure make it look so easy. Bravo ladies and gentlemen 👏👏👏💓💖👄👄

I having guests for lunch they are quarreling about the war each one on a side so in order not to take part I watch aidan and I told them have a look at this beautiful. Man they did and remembered him and forgot about the war for a while.
My father was randomly walking by when my sister and I were watching the scything scene. He's a farmers son and often uses a scythe to cut the grass for our pet goats. He finds it to be a very relaxing activity as well, so indeed didn't understand how someone could be so infuriated and savage cutting...
Well, HolandaChiquita, he had a lot on his mind at the time. It was the night after, and he was probably mad at himself for taking advantage of Demelza. He wasn't a guy who slept with just anyone, and he was probably taking out his conflicting emotions on the wheat or whatever that was. :)
amazing program love it found out my ancestry worked in the tin mines in cornwall the collacotts very proud , the rest of them in the pits up north .ha

I'm rewatching the complete series now in 2021. Too bad they didn't do more. Was there more in the books to make part 6 and 7 ? Could be interesting to return to the story when they are middle-aged with children getting married and the country in a totally different place with a new king. Now that Daniel Craig has delivered his last 007 is there talk about who will play the new Bond ?
Hi Magna! Yes, too bad they did not continue. This TV adaptation is based on the books by Winston Graham, they are 12 in total. The TV series ended around book 7.
Yes. Just discovered Poldark now. We're having Poldark Nights at a friend's house once a week and mid-way through season 4. We are sad that we only have one season left! They need to finish the series!
