- On a few recent trips, I have collected some new Mega 360, down imaging, and side imaging snapshots and video footage. My settings for Mega 360, DI, and SI can be found in earlier videos on my UA-cam channel. Using chart speed adjustments and spot lock enables you to get the best possible M360 images. See how down imaging can enhance and clarify what you see on your Mega 360. Utilizing all forms of technology helps you put together the pieces of the puzzle. Revisiting an area where I found 3 boulders off a deep weedline, I decided to side image the area. Side imaging revealed that these boulders were actually located on a point of weeds! I will definitely fish this area differently knowing what I know now. Learn how to use ring distance and structure images to accurately cast to targets. Today’s Humminbird Mega 360, down imaging, dual spectrum chirp, and side imaging become your underwater eyes giving you clear images of what’s happening
below the surface of the water.
Thanks Steve, all I need now is a Hummingbird 12” and a 360
My little helix mega Di 7” won’t do that.
With all that said Steve thanks again great video 👍
Thanks again Malcolm, the Helix 7 is a great unit!
Thanks for the how to. Just got 360 and a Helix 12. Have had it out once. It’s going to be a weapon once I fully learn how to use it. When you cursor over and mark a waypoint with 360 does the entire 360 screen move? Mine did when I put a waypoint on things I saw. Hard to explain, but with SI only the cursor moves.
Once you get used to having the Mega 360, you will quickly learn to rely on it. Knowing where to cast and how far are key components of the effectiveness of the M360. As far as saving waypoints, there does seem to be a little bit of “play” in the accuracy of the waypoints. They are certainly very close but a little bit off.
My Mega 360 settings and images video has a lot more detail on settings.
Steve, hope you see this to answer a question I have: I realize that the transducer is constantly rotating while 360 is in operation: what happens when you switch to another screen, say , for example, you leave the 360 view and switch to your side view screen and it's specific transducer: does the 360 transducer STOP spinning, to conserve battery power and does it continue to spin regardless of whether you are watching the 360 view on the head unit or not? thank you!
If you are using the Mega360 for side imaging the transducer stops spinning and is oriented front to back so that it can shoot signals to the left and right. It f I were just not wanting to use it which almost never happens I would put the unit in standby mode with the power switch if it’s a dedicated unit. If you have a single unit and switch to a different screen image, I believe the 360 does continue to spin because it is controlled by the two silver buttons which are the wet switch. If I find out otherwise I will let you know. Great question, I will have to research that one.
How do you get the waypoint to show up on the 360 view
You need to have an IPilot Link trolling motor with a heading sensor with proper updates completed. An optional gps puck can be used but not needed if you have the link trolling motor. The navigation on feature must also be turned on the settings on your Helix. For more information watch my UA-cam video on Steve Chiasson Fishing on Mega360 Settings and Images.

14 pin is for the built in transducer, 9 pin is for external transducer ✅
Need to clean screen.
You’re absolutely right, I likely forgot my microfibre towel and cleaner that day.
20cm water ?
Not sure where you saw that in the video. I use feet for depth.
You need to clean your screen
I will do better next time.
