- Sharing my thoughts on the new Geek and Gorgeous moisturisers and how I think they could just be the best drugstore moisturiser for your skincare routine.
Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin where in this video I want to share with you my thoughts on the Geek and Gorgeous Moisturisers which have just launched. The geek and Gorgeous Hydration Station and Geek and Gorgeous Happy Barrier have already taken the skincare world by storm but how good are they really.
Geek and Gorgeous are one of my favourite drugstore skincare brands and they offer wonderful formulations at really affordable prices. We have waited a while for a new launch from them but they havent disappointed when it comes to their new moisturiser which is quickly becoming a skincare holy grail in my skin care routine.
There two geek and gorgeous moisturizers are as follows:
Geek and Gorgeous Hydration Station - A lightweight but hydrating moisturiser which is a wonderful addition to an oily skincare routine and best of all it is fungal acne safe.
Geek and Gorgeous Happier Barrier - This is the more heavy duty version of the hydration station which will leave the skin feeling super moisturised but also have some great barrier supporting benefits too.

Basic is exactly what we need sometimes. So glad there are no hyaluronic acid, no potentially irritating actives because you can get them from the serums from G&G. I think the thicker one would do well for slugging. Looking forward to trying them.
I completely agree with you Rob. 50ml is so small. Soooo much packaging for so little product. I really hope moving forward, we can start seeing bigger sizes especially when it comes to sunscreens. x
I would love to see brands doing larger sizes like you say its better for the environment and for our wallets.. Love you hun xxxxxx

i wish they made a bigger version of this!! 50ml for a moisturizer just isn’t enough. something like a 100ml version for 13€ - 14€ would be PERFFFect

Ikr that's why I love the Revolution Ceramides moisturizer. It comes in a big bottle, I think almost 250ml besides being a nice basic moisturizer
Agreed I purchased both and was so disappointed in size and feel that for a moisturizer which we use at least twice sometimes more times a day needs to a larger I feel like it will be gone in no time at all so far though I do love how it feels on my skin and smooths and nourishes my skin I do love it I an using the barrier bc my skin is dry in winter but will repurchase and pray they go bigger on size
I have la roche posay efaclar moisturizer its 40ml and way more expensive
So happy you reviewed these, I don't expect much from my moisturizer but quench my Atacama desert of skin as I use actives separately. I'll absolutely add the richer one to my next order.
Would love to try both!!! I have dry mature skin. Hydration, first then Happier on top. As I'm in Maine in the US, where the winters are very cold, harsh and dry, both at once would be the way to go!! Many blessings!!💖💖💖

Hi Rob most moisturisers are around 50mls - it is the industry standard size. I will add the richer of the two to my next G&G order, but that will probably be in the Spring (I just did an order recently with two bottles of Agame, two stressless and a spritz toner). I think (going by the texture shown) it is a bit lighter than my current cold weather favourite (the PC clinical ultra rich moisturiser), so it will work better for me once the worst of the Winter is behind me. The price is great and obviously better than PC, but truthfully for the skin comfort I get from the clinical ultra rich moisturiser I will pay the extra. I like trying other things once the weather improves and I used the Pacifica vegan collagen cream during the early Autumn (which looks like a similar consistency as this one). It's not enough for my Winter/cold weather skin, but it was fine in the milder Autumn weather we had up until lately. Best wishes.
LRP Toleriane Double Repair moisturizer is 75 mil.
@@mtngrl5859 In the UK and Europe LRP moisturisers are 40mls in size.
@@lorainemcgillivray77 That's interesting ;) I wish they would have spf in 400 mil sizes. My LRP Lipikar Balm comes in 400 mil size, lasts a really long time.
@@mtngrl5859 The body moisturisers are available in 200mls and 400mls sizes here too. My ultrasun is actually available in a 400mls size lol/

I love the name “hydration station” 💧I do believe that packaging comments are helpful. I ❤it when a brand has answered the question, “how will this travel?”

I purchased the barrier moisturizer cause I wanna find à substitute of the Stratia one ( the shipping and custom duties prices have become unbearable) so as a EU inhabitant this will be very convenient ♥️. Can’t wait to try it

I have about a gazillion moisturisers to get through but I want both of these!!! Probably the lighter one for summer but the other one sounds like a winter and drier skin must have!
I also would love to see a bigger tube. As you say you can buy a few at the same time but having a nice big tube would just be preferable.
Yes! I've been craving this video ever since I first heard G&G was releasing the new moisturizers. I just couldn't decide which one would be best for me, and I still can't. I would usually go for the lighter one, but my skin has been getting pretty dry lately so the heavier one would definitely be useful. I guess I'll just have to buy both and go from there. 😄
I'm curious, how would you say each moisturizer compares to your MAS moisturizer in terms of heaviness and consistency? It sounds like MAS may fall in between the two?

Hungary didn't have G&G moisturizers in the stores I visited. I was hoping G&G to have their own stands alone store in Hungary.

Hi! Thanks for the video. Should I be concerned using the happier barrier with squaline if I am also using the ordinary retinol in Squaline. Would that be an overload of the ingredient that is?

Hi! I need a moisturizer without silicone or silicone products. Embryolisse is wonderful but a little too heavy at times. It’s hard to find moisturizers without silicone or silicone products. Geek and Gorgeous might work for me!

I am using the new Stratia Interface as a "serum" and on top your High Impact moisturizer. This combo is wonderful for my skin type (Mix to dry mature skin)

Please let us know your thoughts on IT Cosmetics, I’ve been using their stuff for a little while and honestly it has stopped me from breaking out the make up is lovely stayed put for 12 hours for me ❤

Is the barrier cream fungal acne safe or safe acne-prone skin?
Hi Rob, thanks for the review of these, I've been waiting to hear your thoughts on them! I've just bought your Mad About Skin Maximum Impact moisturiser and love it so far, it's everything I've been looking for, for my combination-oily skin! LOVE that it's 100ml too 💜 Having said that, as a G&G fan girl I'll definitely be ordering both of these to try because I can see myself finding uses for them too (Hydration Station for oily t-zone/in summer and Happier Barrier when my skin's having a really bad day 🤣) Keep up the great skincare content, much love xx

Looking at the inci-list I think that maybe the Hydration station is better for dehydrated skin because of the glycerin - but it also a little dry… hm maybe I need both 😂
Haha I think this is the issue, most people will buy both and probably get use out of both lol.. for me the hydration is more than enough for day to day use on oily skin but the happier barrier is great for the drier days and for hands.. love xx
Hi mad abt skin , when I use salicylic acid cleansers, my skin feels tight & peels but few hrs Ltr it gets rlly oily. I tried the ordinary,la Roche possay & Bioderma & corsxy salicylic acid cleaners and it all makes my skin tight dry and feel but produce a lot of oil over a few hrs & I have open pores, clogged pores and tend to get closed comedones what should i do

Is the hydration station hydrating at all ? I don’t have oily skin at all but I deal with seb derm ( malezzia ) which is the same as fungal acne and need to find a safe summer moisturizer
Although these look like good basic (in a good way) moisturisers I think unusually for me I will give these G&G products a miss. I have been through many moisturisers from around the globe looking to fill the evening routine role and after all that have settled on one from just 25 miles down the road. Yes, the Maximum Impact moisturiser, which does look to be a little heavier than these but just performs perfectly in this role, for my skin at least. I am really , really, waiting for the new Anti-oxidant moisturiser release from MAS . Anyone have any news !!! Nudge nudge!

They do ship to the US, but I thing there is a higher shipping cost (I know it’s not cheap to ship to Canada).

@@eloisepharmacist found the UK store it was way down on the Google search engine but they do not sell either of the products mentioned in the video , not even showing them as out of stock if the did have them. Shame I would have tried them
