he's so unbothered behind the arc. what insane shooter he is. And yet i believe he's far from reaching his potential. Hope he wins a ring this year. deserve it after what he's been through.
"deserves it after what he's been through". That's such a dumb thing to say. By the same logic, Greg Oden deserves a ring too? He's been through much worse. Dummy.
He's only made 3 of his 22 arc attempts in the Finals. It's insane how badly he''s gagging on wide open shots but the rest of the team is still good enough to win despite him.
@@Bricknose91 just medically the surgery process is getting better. Probably evidenced by the recovery rate from stuff like arthroscopic knee surgery or tommy John surgery. Once upon a time players wouldn't even come back still talented from those. Nowadays they can perform at even higher heights like Adrian Peterson running for 2k yards a mere 9 months after tearing his ACL. So recovery wise it's just not as daunting as it once was. Also, another example is when players get paralyzed. It used to be permanent but modern innovations in surgery and recovery mean that people have been regaining the ability to walk in just a few years or less now. Its amazing how far we've come so fast in terms of taking care of the human body
I remember the KD comparisons , he aint KD but he defly a better shooter than KD was early on , he jus doesnt have the creation game yet thats the next piece to his game
His career also took a different path. KD was on bad teams for like 3 years to start his career and was the primary shot creator on his team. MPJ doesn't have to be that, and doesn't force it as much as people think he does. He plays within a system which is hard to get guys of his talent level to buy into a role.
Need to take advantage of mismatches and get him in the paint for easy turn around jumpers over smaller defenders when 3 isnt falling. If he improves handles and face up game a notch hes a legit all star
He needs more weight and post moves to go to the next level. He should be our shot blocker and rebounder instead Aaron. Aaron at the small forward would be unstoppable!
Frightening thinking about how good he would have been absent the injuries. He’s still fantastic and his interviews on the JJ Reddick podcast have been a revelation (to me). He has the silkiest smooth jumpshot, it’s a thing of efficient beauty. So good to see him doing so well. (Maybe one day he’ll learn how to play defense lol.)
He's actually better defensively than people think. He gets lost in scheme situations, like rotations and defending swing passes and stuff, and he likes to help off a little too much. But he uses his length on ball very well, is a terrific rebounder which is like 50% of good defense; end the possession. At this point I'd say he's underrated defensively.
Watching some of the ill advised and logic lacking shots this guy has taken in the playoffs has been utterly eye opening as he is bailed out by the competence of his teammates. Iono, MPJ is a eyebrow raise to a question mark at this point for me. Dude needs to DRASTICALLY grow in decision making and getting other players involved.
I don't care if he passes or not 😂 He shoots at an extremely efficient rate and the team already has enough passers. If his job is to score I take that. He is a rook on a chess board.
@@Hamp10boy ok? He’s getting carried & gets paid 31 million to drop 2 points & shoot 5-29 from 3 the last 4 games LOL. He’s a bum. A rookie is easily outplaying him. Sorry

The Nuggets getting MPJ at #14 and being patient with his injuries was an incredible move.

It’s crazy how he can still move the way he does even after the back surgeries
@butter fingers which one of his 3 back surgeries before the age of 25 proves that surgeries are getting better?
@butterfingers8842nah, just genetics. A normal person would barely be able to jump

Tracy ,carmelo and michael porter jr have the smoothest shooting i ever seen
Porter without injuries is legit superstar potential..glad he is willing to play basically a Harrison Barnes, Iggy role on the Nuggets ..
I reaalyy love his jumpshot 🔥🔥🔥
I watched him and Trae Young live playing for Mokan when they were like 16 or 17, MPJ is underrated af, I wish him and Trae were teammates again.
has been great watching him grow into a great defender and good all around player, his prime will beg reat for this team
He got his career high in assists in the playoffs. Truly one of the greatest passers of all time showing up when the lights are brightest.
Dude had 3 back surgeries and is still balling like this, crazy!
I’ve been a fan ever since I saw his debut game in NOLA. Hopefully he stays healthy and show the world what he really is capable of
Amazing player good jumpsshot
Denver Nuggets are fortunate to have Porter. He can be a superstar on other teams. A great potential. He was once prospected as nos 1 pick
Facts🤲🏽💯🔥nuggets gotta keep mpj he a superstar waiting to happen
@@Zaybo263 The team is waiting on him. MPJ keeps choking on Wide Open shots, 3 for 22 at this point.
Mad underrated X factor for Denver 🔥🔥

At 5:54 Murray already knew he wasn’t getting that ball 😂
His accuracy is insane.
Mpj journey soon to be known all ova been here since day 1 let him get more touches🐐

damn maxamillion given props to the whole denver starting 5🏆

there's a reason MPJ was consensus #1 in his high school class.
He had a career high 6 assists in a big game 3 vs lakers

I hear MPJ is an under-rated passer. When I finally see him make a pass I'll let you know.
He's the Kevin McHale of outside shooters.
He goes to my church in Columbia, Missouri. weird flex
Leave this kid open let him get a few buckets in a row and you'll see him go for a quick 20 in one quarter he's that talented.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a confirmed good shooter left wide open so much. MPJ is literally open for almost the whole highlight.
jokic gravity
Not really he just gotta fast release so by time you try to guard him the ball already gone
Not that easy to guard 6 foot 10 on jumpshot even if youre not too far from him
I wish we had him I. Dallas

Porter’s side step 3 is prettier to watch, and probably a higher % look than a Harden step back 3
