I hope the show goes 7 seasons
Shorter seasons but less is more. I hope SNW gets the magic 10 seasons, great show. In fact, as an ageing 60-something Trekkie, its one of the best ever.
Anson has always been a good actor but he makes a solid Star Fleet Captain. He was born for this. His character is the embodiment of what it is to be a Star Fleet Captain.
Pike is becoming my favorite captain! I hope SNW gets 10 seasons!
What a nice person Anson is!
He is an amazing actor and killer in the show.
The best of the Captain Christopher Pike.
Id love to see Harry Mudd on Strange New Worlds.
10 eps a year, they used to do 26, you don't know how good you got it.
Hey, I'm old...I can remember when a series was 38 or 39 episodes -- that was the hour-long Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. Ten measly episodes barely whets the appetite. I tend to think of SNW as a mini-series that reappears every year. Ten episodes? Stargate SG-1 and Supernatural managed 22 episodes per season. White Collar, pretty much the last series I watched "real time", managed 16. I got rid of broadcast/cable/satellite several years ago, and now just buy DVDs. I occasionally get a dud (based on someone's recommendation or a impulse purchase), but overall I don't feel as if I'm really missing out on anything by cancelling broadcast TV or cable subscriptions.
If you had no knowledge of Star Trek and I showed you the first two seasons of SNW and of TNG, which show would you think would make it 7 seasons?
Excellent interview.
Lovely interview, thank you so much
Anson's hair is starting to look like he could play injured "beeping" Pike on TOS now... ;-P
When is the musical CD "Subspace Rhapsody" going on sale? I'll by multiple copies for gifts to friends. I can't be unique. "Don't leave the money on the table". Scared? Bring 5,000 copies to ComicCon San Diego and watch the frenzy. As the actress said to the bishop, "Come on, bring it out"!
NO MORE musicals, that was so wired and out of place. Not in a good way. Garbage!
We want great adventures!
S1E6 was Top Tier amazing twist. "Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach"
Do not stray from original concept and theme. No more musicals. That was insulting.Remember your base, these people are the reason why star trek has survived.Trust me kids hated.
It sounds as if they're throwing everything they've got at the season just like they've done in the previous ones. So, comedy, drama, musical, fantasy, and whatever else they can conjure. So, predictably, I'll probably like one or two episodes of the "season" -- or about 20%. I guess that's a good average these days. Whatever happened to finding a show's *identity* and embracing it? It certainly isn't science fiction or fantasy, although it occasionally exhibits traits of both. It's not a comedy, or a musical, or a drama. I like the characters and the actors who portray them...but the plots are all over the map and pretty pathetic (in my opinion), but I want the show to succeed despite the mostly erratic stories.
Even BIGGER swings? I'm afraid to see what abominations they have next. Sorry for what they've done Gene.
With over twenty "executive producers" listed in the opening credits, they probably can't decide if the show is science-fiction, romance, comedy, musical, or satire. Talk about a top-heavy show! There's an old saying about "too many cooks..." and this show is a prime example of how to spoil a good recipe! Creation by committee seldom succeeds; if it weren't for a stellar cast, I wouldn't even be watching it. Akiva Goldsman and his merry crew need to leave lest the show show suffer even more ridiculous plots.
@@lindamaclaren1866 I'm guessing you don't like it when your food touches either. And that's ok. Star Trek is a multiverse and there is room - and a need - for everyone and everything. The offbeat, out of canon episodes provide enjoyment and spark the imaginations in ways Gene Roddenberry may not have imagined but he would have enjoyed.
Sorry, too old for Klingon Boy Bands, let alone smart arse, insubordinate, subordinates.
I don't know how old you are, but I'm 65 and I love Strange New Worlds, and I love the Subspace Rhapsody episode. (I even listen to the soundtrack frequently.) Age of body need not mean age of head!
@@joanlansberry9160 I don't watch Star Trek to see musicals and people being in touch with their feelings or telling their boss that they are an idiot.
I watch to see professional explorers encounter and deal with issues in the galaxy.
If people want a soap opera that's fine - I'll happily watch previous content on DVD.
