Thank you so much for this very informative vid! You've covered many extremely useful techniques that a whistle-noob like me can use to express myself.
You know every video on UA-cam, no matter how good and honest, will have dislikes. So, are there people who actively see each video and dislike them, because I don't see how some videos, like this one, can be disliked by anyone?
Eastern Cowboy maybe try blowing a lil harder for a clearer pitch. If it still sounds off then get a new whistle try a different one. I've recently changed from using a brass one to a Clarke tapered one. never got on with them until now.
Thanks for the comment (sorry, it got stuck in Spam for months!) . That'd be a LOT of work to transcribe. I can tell you it's in A minor, so would suit a C whistle. To get you started the riff at the beginning starts AAGAEAGACEDG AAGACAEDEG. Good luck with the rest of the piece!!
By "ethnic" I think hes confusing weird with Microtonal (which makes me realize that you could jab new holes between the notes to make it microtonal if partial fingering doesnt work)..that being said, good video. Thanks
I would love you as a teacher. I tried the penny whistle but all I got was screeching notes. This gave me and anyone in earshot a headache or worse burst eardrums. 🙃 Not a good sound.
If you can afford to splash out on a Warbl.xyz, you can practise with headphones. See my review here: ua-cam.com/video/a1CCAQsSqI4/v-deo.html And you can learn some fingerings via my free site Whistle It!: www.creativemedia.org.uk/whistle-it/
Fun Fact: Some traditional penny/tin whistle players would be disgusted at the idea of vibrato using your stomach or diaphragm. They instead would rapidly move one of their fingers on and off the hole to slightly change the sound back and forth while keeping the one breath. Ps: When i say disgusted, i mean physically sick on the verge of vomiting at the thought of it but it's not very common Edit: Basically like the fluttering section in the video
One of the best sharing/teaching posts I’ve seen. Thank you very much!

Do you have a playlist for your tin Whistle videos.

i can see it, I dont agree with it. very good video that really helped me
Some people are just hateful and do it because they're either jealous or bitter.
When I go for the high octave my whistle sound cracks. It just won't do it. Wonder if I got a bad fleadog?
