Don't bother with leftist MSM. They'll bury this. You gotta get in contact with Rebel News, National Post, Toronto Sun, and other outlets that have something to gain by running the story.
The Fraud Bubble is worth investigating. G D had opened his account 16 years ago and the problems started when a new manager arrived. As G D asked "what kind of training did the teller receive"? Why do all enquires get referred back to the branch and not to the fraud department of the bank?
Weird i have CIBC, decided to use a person instead of the money dispenser, used my card, pin then i had to show ID lol. I guess they handle things differently, not saying it's a good bank, but there might be more security.
TD is incredibly sketchy in all financial matters. I banked with them decades ago tried to charge me to close an account with less than $7 in it! I blew up in the bank (with customers in the line) and they just shut it down in my favor so fast. They were also in the news recently about laundering $$$$.

Absolutely INSANE I went to TD as a legal trustee on behalf of my Mom who ended up incurring a life changing brain injury at age 50. I had the proper legal paperwork after talking and paying $5000+ to a trusteeship / power of attorney lawyer. She provided me with a “Notarial of trusteeship” which is equivalent to power of attorney in my Moms situation. These GENIUSES at TD refused to recognize a 100% legit (and expensive as hell) legal document because they thought they knew more then my lawyer???? It took 6months to close her accounts down after setting up meetings with THREE DIFFERENT managers at the same branch????? Every other bank I had to do the same business with helped me out within 1 day. TD should stand for Totally Demented lol!

Equality means we should all be treated the same. No matter gender, race, sex, or creed. It is crazy we have reverted as a society. If employees were not fearful or reprimands or getting fired, they probably would have spoken up about it. It sucks for actual trans people but that's part of the battle. My friend went through it, and she is now a happier better self after going through all the hoops and trials. Banks questioning her was a part of that before all the paperwork and new ID's went through.
I can’t believe they’re putting gender politics over security. This is ridiculous! I’m happy to support transgender people in every possible way, as long as it makes sense and does not get in the way of security of others!
TD Bank, as a gesture of goodwill, should have offered to cancel all debts taken without your consent. Also, you don't just show up to a branch with a different gender identity to take out large loans without raising red flags.
They wouldn't even need to question their gender. Just, OK, what if your SIN, what is your address (if they have to look at their license you deny them). IT was SUCH a simple task to overcome sjw REEE culture or not. I hope OP sues and wins and rips TD and the big 5 banks a new one.
I'm pretty sure the loan is already paid off for the bank. I'm not 100 percent sure, but when a bank provides a loan, instead of waiting for you to pay it back, they instead go to a third party company that buys debt off those banks. This allows the third party company to gain interest of the payments and creates a zero risk situation for the banks.
Fraudulent loans are cancelled, this gentelman is not liable for the loan. He can get his credit history corrected so he isn't on the hook for 7 years. It is a pain in the ass that he will have to clear up because the bank can not do that for him with the credit agencies.

My aunt deposited a multi thousand dollar bank draft from BMO into a newly opened TD investing account to start investing into her retirement. She was told it will take a 1-2 weeks to clear. Two weeks later still 0 dollars in the account. They do an investigation and a week later they tell her they lost it and are doing another "investigation". Another week passes and they found it. It apparently was sent to the wrong department in downtown Toronto. Another 2 weeks pass and they money finally shows up in the account. That's 6 weeks after the initial deposit. She planned to buy S&P500 stocks during that time and basically lost hundreds of dollars in growth during a bull run that happened during those 6 weeks. When she complained, TD gave her a $20 Tim Hortons gift card for the loss. What a joke.
A TD financial advisor took $20,000 from our account without our authorization . We noticed right away because the funds were needed for a purchase. When we demanded that this money be returned they said it would take a week to 10 days. To this day we don't know if this employee got and kept his commission or was fired.
@GarixDover I'm not sure how it works in every different jurisdiction. However, this happened to a close friend, I'd guess 2006, and the card was skimmed. They issued a card without said signature. It is the law. You have 2 years to take it to court. TD dragged it out over 2 years. This guy thought everything was being dealt with as both TD and the RCMP made it seem like they were working on getting the issue fixed and by the time he finally talked to a lawyer it was already too late to go after TD as the 2 years had passed... If he had a lawyer take TD to court any time within the 2 years I think this would have been an open and shut case.
Closed my TD account a few years ago because of the fees. They refused to close the account unless i provided a reason. I kept telling them i dont need a reason other than not liking them. They insisted on needing an official reason for the record. I eventually told them im closing the account because : "im going to go party in the USA" they got pissy with me and closed the account.
I had a similar issue at BMO. My card was eaten at an ATM. Minutes later the branch, which was closed, started racking up charges to my account. I was getting notifications of $400 transactions every couple of minutes. I went to my home branch when they opened the next day. They all but accused ME of making the withdrawals… It was clearly an inside job as the ATM was only accessible to employees. It took weeks to resolve the issue, despite my being in THEIR camera when the card was taken by the ATM. A little while later I closed my account. I didn’t appreciate being treated like a criminal on top of their many mistakes. Shortly after that my regular credit monitoring showed me I had a “negative” notation next to my closed BMO account… BMO had reported me as closing my account improperly and it out a negative remark on my credit score. Took a year to clear it….. Big banks blow chunks.
Actually, it makes sense they were asking. But not for the reason you probably figure I am about to bring up. Usually people figure it's just because of security reasons, etc. In this case, it's because the big banks are on life support right now from the BoC, with them receiving huge payments to help keep them afloat. They are scared of a run on the bank, and are trying to keep any and all assets in their holdings as much as possible. They've been worried for a while now, but it's only been getting worse and worse. I heavily suggest anyone reading this to consider switching banks. Away from the big ones. They need to fail, but it needs to happen after everyone smart enough to listen does exactly that and switches before it is too late. Doesn't matter if there is insurance covering your savings like the CIDC for instance. It is what they are meant for, but if the banks fail badly enough it will require being bailed out. That's the result we do not want as a society. They need to fail after everyone has left their service, so that the bail out isn't necessary. Go look at cooperative banks in the mean time, or some other bank of some other form. Basically any other bank that isn't TD, or Scotia, or RBC, etc. And make sure they aren't a subsidiary of them. Tangerine for instance is Scotiabank.

The hero in this whole situation was the car dealer who noticed red flags and immediately did the right thing to inform the victim, asked if he wanted to get the police involved, victim said yes and the police set up a sting op to catch the criminal. Police acted accordingly in service of the public. Anything that happens with the criminal now is up to the courts, these days judges are pathologically leniant to criminals, so expect nothing much. The main gripe is with the banking institution which apparently doesn't know how to safeguard anything and is off the hook from any legal recourse. That is where the corruption is to be found in this situation.
@Wernerbrandes8088 No offense intended, laws are in place. The problem is the laws are not enforced unless one presents them in court to have them addressed. The court system is representative of an elitist society. One needs cash and time to access the court system to petition them to address a "perceived infraction". I say perceived infraction because justice is supposedly blind and it is up to the plaintiff to justify their position and ask for restitution. The plaintiff must pay to access the court system, pay to prove wrong doing, regardless of what any law states or who witnesses an infraction. I hope I've successfully illustrated that in Canada justice is not equal for all but is paid for and exists only for those with the most resources and not on written laws or morality. Any corporation or person can get away with a crime by simply outlasting the funds of their opposition. We as a society can outlast deep pockets by collectively and publicly boycotting an offender, holding them publicly accountable until restitution is made. Without customers TD will lose money quickly and attract the negative attention of their shareholders. If we do nothing then we by default show TD that they are right and innocent of any wrongdoing. The law, like freedom is only as powerful as the number of people willing to stand up for it or the amount of money that can purchase it.
This country has become parody. Like this story sounds a premise that would happen on South Park, and here it's just life. Sorry your going through this man.
The bottom line is the lady there handed out your password, when she was not supposed to. She breached company protocol. They have camera footage of the person going in with your card. All the evidence is there. Based on the money you lost and time you had to deal with this you should be sueing them. There are many lawyers of you bring them a case like this they will work free until a settlement is paid and then they will take there cut. But that's good a lawyer will look at the case and say, "yes this is a good case", which it is. Even if they take 50percent, there's no pressure on you because if they don't succeed you don't pay. They are also driven to work as hard as they can be cause the more they get the more there payed. I think it's called working pro bono. I think a lot of these banks think they can do stuff like this because you won't fight back. But then when you do, there go into panic mode. And from what I understand they'll will try and settle the matter out of court and fast. Let's say they offer a settlement of 200k and you get 100k. I think that's pretty fair, and would likely compensate at least for a portion of this screw up. Definatly leave a bunch of messages for some lawyers or write a general email and send it off bulk style. I believe you should definitely be compensated for this. You may have to meet with a bunch of lawyers but most of them will do a free 30 min intake I think. They don't want to potentially have to pay millions, and it could mean a really fast settlement.

one time I cashed a fake cheque at td bank by accident. they blocked a lot of features on my card so I made a new bank account at cibc and td bank took money out of my cibc account because I had a negative 50$ balance on my account. DO NOT TRUST TD BANK.
You should take this to CBC Marketplace or news outlets. Would also get a second opinion from a different lawyer. The statute of limitations shouldn't limit you because there could be an argument that TD created this delay. Also, I despise TD!!! Without my consent, TD put insurance on my credit card, student loan, and chequing account. When I complained about the fees, they could not verify any document or recording I sought or consented to it. They did this illegally. TD is garbage, has obvious sales quotas, and has never given advice in the financial benefit of their client, always for themselves. They are truly deplorable. So sorry for your experience. Stay strong!
I would obtain a civil lawyer and sue TD Bank as well as their employee for your losses and damages suffered as of the result of this action by TD Bank. I'm sure that they would be more than willing to resolve this issue rather than go to court.

Wow! If you were overpaying for 12 years, that would be $1,440, more in potential money considering the money could’ve been added over time into a savings account and increased over the years.
It's a bit ironic that people say you should only trust your banker when they are probably the least trustworthy. They directly benefit from your financial investments in their institution and are pushy with shoving unwanted unsolicited offers down your throat. They would happily bury you in high interest rate lines of credit without properly explaining how any of it works. They would then pat themselves on the back as your home gets foreclosed and all your belongings get repossessed. They are worse than a car salesman, at least the car salesman has an excuse and didn't study for a finance-related degree. These people went to university for 4-6 years to study tactics to squeeze your wallet dry.

I had the proper legal paperwork after talking and paying $5000+ to a trusteeship / power of attorney lawyer. She provided me with a “Notarial of trusteeship” which is equivalent to power of attorney in my Moms situation.

Equality means we should all be treated the same. No matter gender, race, sex, or creed. It is crazy we have reverted as a society. If employees were not fearful or reprimands or getting fired, they probably would have spoken up about it. It sucks for actual trans people but that's part of the battle.

Wow that’s insane ! Where does this business end!
Thats hilarious
That IS insane, like Paypal attempting to *punish* wrongthink 👎
Only in Canada where it’s criminal to question someone’s identity
Get a good lawyer that will make TD feel that "ouch" feeling from their failure, with a hefty compensation, and pay your lawyer(s) max 10%, they'll be happy to represent you. Lawyers love these cases. TD messed up, teach them a lesson.

Capture ? I'm sure the catch n release program is in full force here in Canada...you can see the results.
That's horrifying man, I don't understand how they can steal your money and not be held accountable. Sickening.
Simply disgusting. Laws need to change and banks need to be held accountable.
Agreed!

The system is designed so that the house always wins. Period. Anyone who has been through the complaint process with Canada's federal banks, police, healthcare, or other institutions will have experienced this firsthand.
Agreed
I have bad experience with RBC, too
Td sucks in New York too.
Damn, I was going to drop Scotia because the customer service is abysmal. Royal is awful too. What to do?
I left TD in 2013. They lost multiple important documents that had my sensitive personal information on it. I was livid. I have no idea who may have them. They also put all my deposited checks on a 5 day hold despite having a great credit rating and being a customer for 20 years. I left TD and split my assets between another bank and a credit union. When I heard about the money laundering scandal involving TD in the US it did not surprise me. I work for another bank and they make you take courses about money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud and cyber security every year so the training seems to be there at least at my bank.
Wow! That’s wild! I never knew. Thanks for sharing! Good on you for getting out of TD!
Td also has the training. Worked there for many years. I think they are pushing employee sales goals so much, that the employees are focusing on that, so missing other things they should be catching. It takes time between clients sometimes, where you have to have the teller close, to complete documentation. When you have lineups, supervisors are on your behind to be open.
Easier for fake person to do the crime; than the real person to fix the crime. Crappy, something ain't right.
Blows my mind brother! Blows my mind!!
Hey GarixDover, I am saddening hearing stories like this and how Canada has gone off the rails in every which way since COVID. I am sorry you're going through this. Justin-
I have a friend that is going through something similar right now. She was caught in some "beekeeper" (a movie) kind of scheme... she was called by "RBC" because her account was scammed (plot twist: it wasnt RBC) and by the time she realised it was sketchy and not RBC she was minus 15000$ through loans and stuff. Someone at RBC didnt do their job and same as you, theyre now telling her that "its going to take time" and shes told not to leave RBC because its going to be shady (theyre still trying to pin this on her) ... shes 40. A week before that she was stoked because she managed to pay a good amount of debts and her credit score was in the 800s . We work in the corporate world
... shes told that she cant act up at work because of tgis but it litteraly ruined her life. Shes getting gas lit from all sides.. feeling paranoid (rightfully so)
Its fkn awful. I dont wish that on my worst enemy 😔
Will never use TD if they don't remediate this. Not a bank we can trust if this is how they operate!
Yup! This is the sad reality
This is how every bank operates. We just happened to catch td with their pants down
Do not forget that TD was very cooperative closing accounts for Trudeau and Freeland and the Liberal-NDP Party of Canada.
Unfortunately All the banks did. It’s fuking disgusting

@@callias6007...TD has the same thing. If you keep a balance above a certain value, they will waive your monthly account fee. I think it’s $2000 or $2500, can’t recall the exact amount
@@callias6007 TD has that, you just need a balance of over $10,000 in your chequing account at all times throughout the month.
I'm so sorry this happened to you and the lack of consequences for a maliciously complacent financial institution. To me this just drives home that no one should ever trust their bank.
I heard from workers at TD that their bosses tell them little tricks to scam people to think they're getting a better deal than what they actually are getting
You need to bring this story to the media so it gets spread everywhere.
The media is overrun with incompetent woman just like that teller.
the bank teller should be the one responsible for not following bank guidelines put in place for these reason did she call your original bank to find out more information about you in front of her
Nothing was done , until I came into my bank to see why my card wasn’t working!
I became a TD customer when they purchased Canada Trust some 25 years ago. It's been down hill ever since. We parted ways last year. I now do ZERO business with TD.
I miss Canada Trust :(
@@clobberella ...Mee too...that was a very sad day when they sold out to TD.
You still can get a lawyer and you should still get legal advice. Generally the two year rule applies from when you realize there's a problem and once TD could not solve your issue the two year would have started ticking from that point. Also if TD were delaying the process on purpose that may also be grounds for a lawsuit so please seek legal advice I cannot stress that enough!
So sue the teller personally . Shes responsible she handed out your information. Sue her ass off

I would suggest consulting a lawyer and the maybe even the Media to address this issue.
I’m currently a victim of identity theft and my life is F€#&ed the ability for someone to take your identity and go into finical institutions and get loans is insane. You have no idea how much I want the ☠️ penalty for these types of crimes, but let’s remember we live in Canada where criminals can do whatever they want and the average Joe is expendable.
Daum! They got you too eh! Sorry to hear that ! Hope it works out for you in the end this shit sucks
There absolutely has to be a way to sue, regardless of that 2 year clause they claim. Especially if they maintain control over the time period for "internal investigation" it would be easy to argue they can purposefully go over that timeframe. Hope everything gets sorted for you keep fighting because they are incredibly liable for this.
Back in the 90's I assumed a mortgage which was through TD. When that mortgage came up for renewal they would not negotiate a lower rate. Rates were in double digits back then. They wanted to renew me at 12.6% I went with BMO for 6% TD phoned me and wanted to know what rate I got with BMO, I told them to phuck off instead.
TD Bank has been the worst for a long time. I left them over a decade ago and never looked back.
Smart very very smart
This is like a allégorie on what recently fucked up my life. Was in a bad medical mishap. I recovered fast enough..
But precautions demanded me to be halted from, lots of things, including work. Government enforced. Got bills tho. “But don’t worry there is many programs to allow you income”… Denied by them all since medical documents didn’t prove to them I “could not return to work sooner”. I have to eat that shit muffin and be happy about it.🎉
Wild story! I’m sorry that happened truly not fair at all! Hope everything works out for you my friend !
@@GarixDover A truly divine government policy saved me nearing the final stretch. If no symptoms from a medical conclusion shows for 6 months, I am free to return to work/drive. Even doing followup with my doctor: "Wait, you're driving who cleared that?" "Oh... the government"
Kinda funny how surprised they are to not allowing myself to be screwed over. But much like you. Starting from scratch but rebuilding.

That's #TDBank😔 for you! A lot of rich people bank here... 🌎💘💰
Completely unacceptable. I wouldn't get off the fraud line till they refunded me.
I've been with TD for over 45 years and they have recently denied me access to my accounts so I can't pay rent or even buy food once I get the proper documentary I will be dropping my accounts with and most of my family has already dropped their accounts with TD and have already benefited but not such line ups and costumer curtisy
I was in hospital for 6 months with a spinal cord injury and in the chaos that follows such an injury I let the 1 year time period to claim my insurance on my mortgage and line of credit expire. This is how banks screw you out of your coverage, this should not be allowed. I paid for that insurance and just because my health delayed my application is no reason not to pay out. Banks are crooked in general but Td screwed me also😢
That’s so sad to hear ! I can’t believe that. Hope you’re doing better! Wishing you all the best!
Thank you,it’s not just banks it’s the insurance companies as well, you think you have coverage until you don’t. I also wasn’t paid out on a disability insurance claim for $500,000 because my SCI has to be “permanent and irreversible” and I have “limited” return of some use of my legs. The whole system is corrupt
The time limit required by the statue of limitation is for a personal law suit for damages, they can still be charged criminally for fraud. Pressure the authorities to charge the bank for professional negligence and for being an accomplice to fraud.
Thanks for this video. This cemented my decision to pull both my personal and business accounts from TD and switch somewhere else.
I was already considering it with some other hassle I experienced with them related to my new business and then I saw this video recommended to me this morning and I listened to it on my.drive into work and decided to pull the plug today. I should have my new accounts with my new bank by Wednesday this week.
I'm sorry you had to go through this. I hope you get this sorted out ASAP.
This is crazy. How stupid that teller was. Its too bad the 2 years time limit passed because they certainly owe you compensation for what they put you through. Thanks for the video. I have a line of credit with them but never use it. I will keep not using it and let it sit dormant. I will stick with BMO. They were awesome when I had an attempted fraud on my account. They shut things down before I even caught on which was a day later.

I am honestly not shocked. I had a wallet stolen and a man of a different ethnicity walked into my home branch, cashed my paycheque, closed my bank account, took out all my money, and left. The bank did help me in this case... but then they made my life miserable doing extensive identity verification and basically treated me like a criminal at every transaction for the next several years.
TD of course.

I am so sorry to hear that. I have also been a part of a scam recently and have reported my case to Canadian Anti Fraud team and I have not gotten any response from them yet. The legal system in Canada is very messed up right now.
Definitely would have lawyered up sooner!
And in the digital age stuff doesn't take time, it's instant. When people say refunds or stuff takes weeks I'm like "no it doesn't, you're just making this take longer so you can stall and keep the money longer"

@@GarixDover so basically now the criminal gal (or guy) is still using your identity ? i feel like there would be a way to start at a government clerical level, maybe sin number etc, then continue with an equifax request and Transunion, get them to revert your account to the date previous to the attack. if that fails, maybe a more aggressive lawyer (a Jimmy McGill type) combined with a direct action to the media outlets, especially investigative journalists.

Thanks for the heads up, I was looking for a bank to invest with and this scratched TD off my list.
one time I cashed a fake cheque at td bank by accident. they blocked a lot of features on my card so I made a new bank account at cibc and td bank took money out of my cibc account because I had a negative 50$ balance on my account.
Shared your story …hopefully you get some help from the media…who knows… ❤️ something similar happened to my husband with another bank, full protection for the scammer and made my husband’s life hell.
Thank you I appreciate that!
TD tricked me into getting the most expensive monthly chequing account option when i was 18. Did realize i was overpaying by $10 a month till my 30’s
The most expensive model is 29.95 a month now.
I am so sorry this happened to you.., I have this fear for me too because someone got a hold of my passport copy long ago pretending to be an agent (I wasn't educated enough on the matter), so I had to put alerts in place with the 2 credit unions and also filed a report for fraud alert.
