This scene fr made me cry. It was beautiful the music they hype the speech he gave everything. This game was a masterpiece and this scene was an amazing way to sound off the beginning of the end. Best game I’ve ever played. Thank you Santa Monica
It’s how it should feel seeing Kratos beginning something as insane as ragnarok. Plus the whole game up to the last few hours has been trying to prevent it but now in this scene Kratos says it they’re not here because of prophecy and it’s up to them who is guna win or lose this fight.
When I saw this scene for the first time it gave me goosebumps like wow I thought I was just gonna charge into Asgard and fight Thor then Odin but they built up the hype before doing so
I love the contrast and the double-meaning to the phrase "We have suffered enough." Here. Kratos says that because he's so tired of war and he has seen so many friends and family members suffer because of war. That's why he does not want this war. On the other hand, Freya says, "The realms have suffered enough." because Odin caused them all so much pain, and now they want payback through war. You suffer because you go to war. Or you go to war because you suffer. It beautifully highlights how truly desperate they all were.
This scene is the most hype scene to ever be put on any screen (in a videogame.) I've never been so excited and terrified at the same time. This game is a masterpiece.
I’d like to think that people can change given time. The fact Santa Monica made the most unredeemable person into an actual hero is proof :) this scene made me cry too lol
I love the little nod he gives when Atreus says "For Brok". It was a simple, yet deeply personal statement of what the blue dwarf brother meant to them. And how Atreus always thinks about Brok, and most likely misses the blue vulgarian as Mimir once called him.
2:12 Speech starts. The music slowly building up to a big climactic boom really rumbles my insides. I also love the horns in this game, gjallarhorn sounds lovely.
This scene is so addicting. Seeing Kratos give his soldiers an end-of-the-world pep talk, Freya chiming in and then standing at Kratos’ side, and then the sound of Gjallerhorn. It was just a beautifully crafted scene
I come back to this scene more often than I should. The transformation back to Spartan general mid speech fires me up... "Wars are won by those that are willing to sacrifice EVERYTHING". Then all he says before blindly charging into Ragnarok "Ready yourselves". Absolute GIGACHAD.
This is like when he united the Titans to fight Zeus, except the difference between them and now, no one is using anyone as a pawn. Which is why they win.
Replayed God of War 2018 again, and realized the same three notes used when Kratos looks at his axe, are the same notes used when Kratos gives Atreus the knife. The track may have been used other times, but this was the most prominent for me since it's more recent
Just finished this Masterpiece today and keep watching this scene over and over again. The whole endgame was intense, but i couldn't breathe during this scene....wow! And from that point forward, throughout the rest of time, whenever men rode forth to battle, for good cause or for evil, they did so under the watchful eye of the man who had defeated a god. They were driven forward by Kratos, the mortal who had become the new... *God of War.*
Man I played the 2018 game so much and you just keep hearing about all of these prophecies and mysteries about the end now to just be there with the whole crew from this game and all the Valkyrie’s it just hits different. Like Odin captured and corrupted the Valkyries in the first game and now we know why and it feels like such good pay off to know fighting all those crazy battles tied into the main story. Like when sigrun call Kratos general I’m just like oh you crazy bitch I’m so glad you’re on our side hahaha.

The scene of all the realm gates activating with the Ragnarok theme playing is one of the greatest scenes I have ever scene in a video game. I just get so hyped when I see it.
I don't think there was one time any of these scenes didn't put tears in my eyes. To even call this a game is an insult, there is no level of how much this was crafted into a cinematic masterpiece.
They have nailed Kratos in any possible way. This is a legendary character. As a Greek I can say that Kratos isnt what this game promotes, but i do love it. Edit: The game represents more the actual meaning of Kratos, which in Greek means "Rule, Government etc", its a word filled with huge power and responsibility and thats what GoW is.
And now, at long last, Kratos is taking fight to Asgard. Because, as we know, if one branch of tree(Yggdrassil) is sick, we know what to do, don't we? *WE CUT IT DOWN* . It is also most awesome thing to see all Gates being lighted up. It is as if all other Realms answer sound of Horn, and agree, that Odin, and Asgard with him, has to be brought down. For good of everyone living in The Tree.
Oh shit cuz that was actually said that if the tree is damaged they cut the limb off. So it’s like doing trying to avoid his fate is what caused his ruin. Like so perfectly foreshadowed.
Kratos running through a portal armed with the blades of chaos, leviathan axe, The Draupnir spear and a dauntless shield is the most bad ass thing ever. If he comes to your aid, youre in luck.
To this day no one can convince me that when Kratos and his Loki first heard that horn from the first game. that it wasn’t from the future when it happened especially with timelines
They were on track to fulfilling prophecy here. It wasn’t until Kratos told Atreus to open his heart that he finally broke the cycle and defied prophecy. I finally realized that the other day.
Man, this hits hard. Kratos says that the does not want this war becouse he came to these lands to escape his past. But then he says that he can hide no longer meaning that he will still fight in it and that is becouse he says that they have suffered enough. It is also becouse in the dream faye told him to open his heart to the suffering of the people, which is why he decided to lead the army and why the reason for him to stop hiding is that they have suffered enough.
