Wonderful talk. Never get tired of listening to VDH. It reminds me of what it was like having discussions with my grandmother who passed away in 2012. The wisdom she imparted in me made all the difference. He really hit the nail on the head about the useless and absurdly expensive degrees being given out these days. My grandmother, who was the first in our family to go to college and was one early graduates from CUNY Lehman in the 1970s, saw this storm brewing 20 years ago. No one needs a BA or an MA to make coffee, but no employer needs an employee with a useless degree and no real skills. And now all this talk about canceling student loan debt. I think anyone who voted for Biden expecting debt cancellation is going to be sorely disappointed. The taxpayers can’t afford it and we should not be on the hook for it. I pay my taxes and my student loans. It’s not easy. But we must pay for the choices we make in life. That is the cost of freedom.

Schools could be stressing how the subjects taught in school relate to future professions. I never encountered anything like that. The future was never mentioned in a tangible way, yet we were expected to contemplate the world's major problems... it seems so silly in retrospect. Quality parents are the key- especially when it comes to college and beyond. Parents need to be advising their children on finances, majors, the future. So many people seem to be living in LaLa Land. In a way, you can't blame the university for selling its product- people don't have to buy it.
As usual, I agree with and appreciate VDH; however, when the discussion turns to who can follow or replace Trump, I'm not so sure. My view is that there may be young leaders who could come along and who agree with Trump's ideas, Trump's strength in the face of relentless attacks would be difficult to impossible to duplicate.
I would like to see Devin Nunes run in 2024. He is from a rural area in CA and seems to be a strong Constitutionalist. Even though Devin is from California I believe that he understands what our Constitutional rights and freedoms are and he seems to appreciate what American entrepreneurship means to our country. As well as wanting LEGAL IMMIGRATION into our country. I LOVE TRUMP AND I HATE BEING SCREWED BY CHEATING. DEATH TO ALL TRAITORS/DEMOCRATS/COMMUNISTS!!!
If I may, I live in California near the border in a city much like VDH's hometown. I'm retired but work part time at the local Lowe's. Last night at work a mechanic originally from Mexico, here legally, told me he has changed jobs several times in the last four years because the Trump era slowed down the flow of illegal labor and employers were willing to pay him better wages. He told me that other's told him that he had "sold out." He told me he tells them "No I bought in" to the American Dream.

These are crazy times...there was a time when you could draw a circle and place all the things you desire in government (as a Democrat) and a republican do the same thing and there would be some overlap. Now the circles have moved away. I try to imagine how this year and last four will look in thirty years time but can’t. Hopefully Biden will be limited by judicial legislative branches of government but I’m really doubtful. So I’ll try to ignore the news cycle. Does that mean I’m sticking my head in the sand? I just can’t see anything whatsoever coming out of the next administration being positive. Hopefully kamela Harris will make a good president. I don’t see it happening. Just a fun fact: you can tell Trump was a great president because almost all of DC hated him and a second term would have been too much. Try draining the swamp with a small bucket some time. Hopefully the Trump will take his loss gracefully. If he actually loses. 99.9 % sure he will and biden will have to go down in history of being one of the best cheaters known. Obviously it wasn’t him literally. There are a lot of people who are just programmed to fight the good fight. Their version of good. I just don’t understand some people’s world views. Especially people who live in large cities who throw off one whole state because they seem to have group mentality in a political sense. I’m hoping vdh can clarify. I’m not a huge Trump fan but his policies are pretty sound. Liberalism on the other hand is like someone being drawn to nudist beaches: it sounds great until you get there. Bill

I know that you realize that people are going to go to their graves wearing those College Debt Millstones garnishing their Social Security pittance to keep paying on those loans until they die. I have valued the Hoover Institute and the Heritage Foundation and learned much from Victor Davis Hanson. Each step forward with technological extension empowers the autonomous individual and diminishes traditional cultural values that require stable families and steady support of education through the age of 25 , through which the cortex must integrate . Non- Darwinian events ate increasing exponentially. From a scientific standpoint highly sophisticated analyses dwindle into the maze of perspectives that yields less and less information. Therefore I would challenge Victor Davis Hanson to engage You Tube to yield up a range of comments directly to himself, and in particular this comment from myself : WHY DOES NOT THE HERITAGE FOUNDATION INVITE MAJOR THINKERS SUCH AS RICHARD WOLFE TO DISCUSS MAJOR DISAGREEMENTS IN A HIGHER DOMAIN ? What America, the hope of the world needs is a HIGHER FORM OF ENGAGEMENT AMONG INTELLECTUALS THAT ENSUES AT GREATER POLARITIES. The information that comes with these civilised clashes is greater. to the degree that it is COMPREHENSIVE. Thus, " the general picture" becomes sharply defined for each listener. WILL THIS MISSIVE BECOME USEFULLY EXTENDED TO VICTOR DAVIS HANSON AND NOT MERELY ANOTHER BOTTLE THROWN OUT TO SEA AND A MERE WASTE OF TIME ? : SPACE IS PUBLIC; TIME IS PERSONAL. Alfred B. The sole purpose of the federal government in domestic policy is to just protect the protections of the constitution. Allow the states more autonomy short of violating the US constitution. other than that, most power should be diffused to the local level because detached central powers never know everything that's needed. localism is more free market friendly.

Thank you Professor Hanson. So glad to have discovered you and your writings, strangely enough, from debates held with Christopher Hitchens.
We Need More Professor's LIke Him for Our College Students Who Need a Real Education, Not Indoctrination by Professors....
Sure wished I could have taken one of his classes truly a good Patriot
Right on the point with American education system right now.

@@goodtalker Peter Strzok said, in his Congressional testimony, that his contact for the dossier was SIDNEY BLUMENTHAL. Strzok said he NEVER spoke to Chris Steele. Strzok said that Blumenthal was his ONLY contact. Trey Gowdy said the author of the dossier was SIDNEY BLUMENTHAL. Dick Morris believes SIDNEY BLUMENTHAL wrote the dossier, because he commonly wrote sleazy stuff against the opposition when he worked for the Clintons. Chris Steele was employed to have an appearance of MI6 authority for the dossier, but at the time, he hadn't been to Russia in 8 years. NO Russian was involved with the dossier. The deep state FBI is protecting BLUMENTHAL, in order to cover up that Hillary was involved with the dossier. As of September 24, 2020 {really January 2017}, the FBI {really Peter Strzok} has named the "Russian" "spy" Igor Danchenko {really Ukrainian, U.S. high school and U.S. university educated, had worked for the CIA, wrote papers with Fiona Hill at the Brookings Institute where he worked for 5 years, and currently lives in London where he works at Chris Steele's analyst firm} as a subsource for the dossier in the hope that bull dogs, like me, stop digging. US Senator Ted Cruz said that Danchenko was "NOT a spy, but a well known DC swamp rat" {committee hearing, November 10, 2020}. THE U.S. SENATE MUST SUBPOENA SIDNEY BLUMENTHAL.
What this looks like---Peter Strzok, in panic mode, needed a Russian subsource for the dossier in order to divert attention away from SIDNEY BLUMENTHAL as its author. Strzok attempted to hide that HILLARY CLINTON was the originator of the dossier.
Note: In January 2017, Peter Strzok was the Lead Investigator for both the Clinton use of an unsecured server and Trump/Russia collusion cases. There was NO investigation into the Clinton e-mail matter, because Strzok did NOT interview any witnesses. Strzok and Andrew McCabe went to London for meetings with intelligence contacts for the latter case.
There was more than one version of the dossier. People, such as Hillary, always leave more than a few ways out of something they're in the middle of. Blumenthal and Hillary probably authored it together on Blumenthal's computer or Clinton's computer. Investigative reporter, Lee Smith, discovered there were four "proto-dossiers" and they were particularly salacious--These were Blumenthal's work.
From there, they got other people involved to lend confusion to the matter, a staple of Hillary's. Clinton, through Perkins Coie, retained the intelligence firm Fusion GPS, whose CEO Glenn Simpson's wife said that her husband wrote the dossier. At the time she claimed that, the dossier was popular in the liberal media. DOJ official, Bruce Ohr's wife, Nellie, who worked for Glenn Simpson, wrote a version of the dossier, as well. Chris Steele said, in a UK court, that he worked for Hillary Clinton and she knew of his anti-Trump research. {U.S. Rep. Devin Nunes said that Chris Steele took the dossier produced by GPS Fusion and slapped his name on it.} It's a matter of who wrote the dossiers, and on whose computers, and getting to those computers before they're erased.
The following information is probably the proof that the dossier was SIDNEY BLUMENTHAL'S IDEA. On October 6, 2020, DNI John Ratcliffe, released hand written notes by former CIA director, John Brennan, where Brennan briefs Obama that he sent an investigative referral to James Comey via Peter Strzok {Comey testified that he never saw this referral.} in regard to an audio recording of Hillary that was recorded by Russian intelligence. Brennan briefed Obama on “alleged approval by Hillary Clinton on July 28 {2016} of a proposal from one of her foreign policy advisors to vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by Russian security services.” That foreign policy advisor had to be SIDNEY BLUMENTHAL.
Hillary's motivation was to distract the public from her use of a private mail server. Brennan's referral to the FBI noted an allegation about “Clinton’s approval of a plan concerning US Presidential candidate Donald Trump and Russian hackers hampering US elections as a means of distracting the public from her use of a private mail server.”
{Remember in 2012, the committee hearing on Benghazi where US Rep. Trey Gowdy interviewed Hillary and we learned that Hillary had been on the phone for hours with SIDNEY BLUMENTHAL, so she was too busy to do anything. Also, Rep. Gowdy brought out that Hillary had sent thousands of e-mails to Blumenthal, more than any other person. Blumenthal held no government position nor official capacity, but was only her long-time campaign employee.} During Obama's presidency, he didn't trust Blumenthal, and had him banned from the White House.

Right on. I am POC and had always believed in gun control. However, now I am a firm believer in 2nd Amendment Right and building up my courage to buy a gun.
Don’t be scared. Get an experienced shooter to learn with. Safety first. I couldn’t stop at 1 gun. I’m up to 17😁😁😁
Get a gun safe and soon you won't be able to tolerate it being empty. I have a gun closet that looks like a scene from a 007 movie. Don't allow people to shame and deter you from self-preservation especially with the real possibility of a mob rampaging in your backyard.

VDH is the best. No one spells it out better.
Victor is exactly right smart man
in school today. AND ALL OF THEM ARE ADDICTED TO THEIR PHONE.

What has been revealed in the last four years is breathtaking.
Now that we've seen the truth , we are responsible , right ?
Great show!
Saving the best for last. Just like President Trump.

Extremely insightful
What a genius.
How u take anything, VDH, in a SMARTMATIC DOMINION whirld ?
Which election u consider winning?
Victor should talk about those Lincoln Project creeps. Talk about smelly fingerprints, sheeeeesh.

Why is Live Chat not available, UTube?
I am up here in Ontario, on UTube. I see only one comment by David Well, 6 hours ago. I can only conclude that comments are being dramatically censored by UTube. Other talks by Mr. Hanson are seriously dated. Nearly all, are pre-election. Is anyone else experiencing this?
No. Here in Australia I am seeing videos from the election on.
In Estonia I see all comments .Yet. And videos about the election too.Yet.
I do! And you know who did it !

The Dems did a hatchet job on the Jan 6 youth.

I like Right Wing Noam Chomsky...but you have to admit...seeing a podcast called Young Leaders Circle starring two old men is kind of funny.
Living in California with so many latinos, I would expect Mr. Hanson to have a word about US policies about Latin America within Biden administration.
Yes, Victor Davis Hanson is a great professor a genius, but NOT fighting for President TRUMP, FOR THIS ELECTION, OR FOR THE VOTING INTEGRITY FOR THIS GREAT COUNTRY
Great
Wish him and his young family all peace and joy in Christmas time.
Bill

Victor, great job!!! The last few minutes of your interview is really on the point! I have come to the conclusion that college loans should go back to non Government Guaranteed and allowed to be resolved thru Bankruptcy. I know that you realize that people are going to go to their graves wearing those College Debt Millstones garnishing their Social Security pittance to keep paying on those loans until they die. The University's and Colleges are selling a lie worse than two bit hustlers by graduating people with no way to make a living and repay the debt.
In other words, we are lost - the administrative state has so much power that it appears transparency will be impossible to attain.
Probably good to skip this one, I normally listen but host is not on top of election challenges so he’s talking about Biden’s next four years.
TRUE

Victor Davis Hanson is a #JollyGoodFellow
I don't know how serious the hashtag is, or what it means if anything, but thumbs up for Prof Hanson! New to me, I always check Manhattan Institute now. Thanks!

Obama’s foreign policy, “how much can I give you for you to agree with me”. Very little for our citizens.
The sole purpose of the federal government in domestic policy is to just protect the protections of the constitution. Allow the states more autonomy short of violating the US constitution. other than that, most power should be diffused to the local level because detached central powers never know everything that's needed. localism is more free market friendly.
