Award-winning short documentary by Quickthinking Productions that takes a look at the life of a travelling fairgrounds. I love Carters Steam Fair. I just took my daughters to the one in Prospect Park, Reading. I was admiring the quality of the painting and the steam engines. Fabulous.
I ran away with Carters stream fair in 2001..best summer of my life, I met my husband, travelled the world and had my boys.. If it wasn't for carters I wouldn't have anything.
brilliant film so positive i have been following this steam fair since the 1980,s watching it grow and evolve thanks so much for posting, and to the carter,s thanks so much for keeping our heritage alive you are all doing such a brilliant job.
Thank God for Carter's Steam Fair! Modern fairgrounds are packed with strobe lighting which could be dangerous if you suffer from Epilepsy, like I do. That's something a traditional fairground doesn't have.
Eddy2730 I quite enjoyed the strobe lights personally as there are big part of the atmosphere but I've always known for most fun fairs but I can understand your concern.
If you were to go on a particular ride you could always ask them to switch off while you're on it.
But Carters deafly offer an alternative and something very unique so I would really love to visit one of their grounds some day.

Carters steam fair is fantastic if you have never seen it you dont know what you are missing ,i have been to weston supermare a few times when they are on the sea front .
They are a real nice family great fun
Brilliant documentary the Carter's steam faire is amazing!
I would rather go to carters steam fair and take my family than go to a modern day fun fair I hope they continue to run for many many years to come

Excellent documentary. No wonder it was award-winning. This is one amazing fair. Wish them all the luck in the world for the future success - not that they'll need luck I'm sure. :)
