Hello there! :) HAVE YOU EVER MADE SOCKS? First episode where we make some fun cards and reuse gift bags, here - ua-cam.com/video/sy1XHcKsbT0/v-deo.html
Norway - yes!!! You know, I have been to the North Cape in Norway -so beautiful, breathtaking! And yes, I bet the dog is happy - our animals, they are so wonderful!
Hi from Vancouver area, BC Vancouver. Something positive for me that happened yesterday is my neighbour girls came to my gate (I’m teaching them to sew) to talk about making scrunchies. We worked out a plan where they will do hand sewing, hand work at their house and I’ll do the part with sewing machine. So good to talk to them and their mom
Thank you for sharing your sock making journey, i will try to print out the pattern and make some too. My happy moment was sharing a laugh with a beloved friend who is visiting from The Netherlands...his biggest challenge is getting back home. Sending love from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
I hope your friend will be able to get home soon... but it is great that you have a friend to share great moments with! It was lovely to read your comment, thank you!
I wonder if you could make them with polar fleece for the winter and use fabric paint on the bottom so they grip and you don't slide. Would be a sweet Christmas gift.
Hi Alisa hope you are well I am from Doncaster South Yorkshire in the uk 🇬🇧 and I love watching your videos and the amazing ideas you have thank you so much 😘
Hi from Denmark, Scandinavia 🇩🇰👋Great video! One of the good things today was drinking coffee in the sunshine on my resent build balcony. It extends my apartment to the outside world, in these days when it’s not advised to leave your home here in Copenhagen. ☀️☕️ Stay home. Keep safe. Let’s flatten the curve 🌍😷👍 Happy sewing everybody 🧵❤️
Thanks for this video. I've knitted socks but I never thought of sewing them. Now I know what I'm going to be doing. I'm an American from Washington State but I now live in Northern Norway up by the Arctic Circle. You might have to google where I live before you can find it on your map as it's a small island. Try to find Sandnessjoen, Norway and there you have it. Wearing socks is a way of live up here even on many summer days and always in the winter, in the house and under boots.
Thank you I have just found your channel I love your happy attitude your smile and the way you explain things is wonderful easy to follow so happy I found you I am in sheffield uk you mentioned abakhan in an other video I have been there is it wonderful keep up the great work xx
Hey Missy so I am in Roy Utah and one good thing from yesterday was I got to spend time with my little cousin and I taught him how to cut fabric and today we are going to be making some facemasks
I’ve always said , you should have your own show on TV. It’s so uplifting. Especially the chicks and chickens. Our son is getting chickens that lay blue and green eggs. His oldest son Jase, the three year old, just loves the colour green and he’s over the moon that there will be green eggs.
Oh yes, we have those too, Rhode Island Reds - I think.... beautiful eggs, for sure! They lay them often too, about 5 eggs per week, so your grandson will have a blast eating fresh eggs! And they are pretty independent too, chickens are awesome, but they do have a character! ;)
Thoughtful Creativity - CRAFT, SEW, DIY yes. Very true. His youngest son, Remi is the same age as Artemis and is very excited too. Absolutely precious moments to watch.
I have made so many pairs of these socks. They are super cute and all so different . If you have any nice T-shirts that are still good but you are tired of them, use them to make socks. They come out great! Give it a try!
Hey! I only live about 2 hours from you! I live close to Cookeville, Tennessee. That is a close city to me that most ppl know. It is exciting to have a semi-close sewing friend 😊
Crystal, yes you do live pretty close! There are quite a few people here from the are around Smokies, we should do a sewing get together for people in the area when this whole "thing" ends, that would be fun!
One good thing: I got chatting with a really old friend over Facebook and got some much needed news from him and his brand new baby, as well as his job on the front line as a doctor in ER. Here in France, the peak is due next week, but he had loads of positive things to tell me. Mainly: stay home and safe! So that's what we're doing (We're in the French Alps, near the Swiss border)
Lovely to see you Alisa - watching from England. A few days ago I received a pastel portrait of my dog to mark her passing. My daughter is artistic, I’m not. I appreciated both her talent and thoughtfulness in giving me this gift at such a time.
My one good thing... was able to complete 1/2 of the face masks I am making to donate to a local community hospital. As for my location... I split my time between South Charleston WV and Dandridge TN. Hope you an your family is well!!
Stacy, me too! My husband just dropped off 3 parcels at the post office with over 50 masks - I am out of supplies now.... no elastic and I have plenty of fabric, but I don't remember the content of all of them, and I am afraid to make something out of polycotton, even if I do the burn test...
@@ThoughtfulCreativity So good to hear you are making them too. I am making 30 and my mom is making an additional 20 or so. Basically we are sewing until we are out of supplies.
Aww that's wonderful! By the way your chicks are adorable! it brings back so many memories for me, because i grew up on a Urban farm in Fremont, and witnessed my own chick hatch! I can imagine how happy your little daughter must be to have a chick too!@@ThoughtfulCreativity
I got a chuckle out of you keeping the socks on your hands while talking. I'm going to try making some with a stretch fabric that has rubber dots for the sole. I received it as a mystery fabric of the day from FabricMart.com and can't figure what I should make.
One good thing is watching the honey eaters wash in my bird bath and feed from the Grevillea bush in my front yard. I live in Adelaide South Australia.
Love this video! But maybe I can avoid the heel alltogether by making a tube sock. I have big calves/ankles and I need to figure out how to keep the socks from slipping down. In knitting you have the ribbing to kind of keep the sock a little cinched. GREAT IDEAS FROM YOU ALISA!
I have that sock pattern too! I'll will print it out today. Positive: my two siblings, me, and mom are in a group chat. We were laughing because every other text from mom, we received in our individual chats... Not in the group. ... So we got so confused about what mom was saying!!! We all ended up using gif to show how isolation is making all of us delirious! Bonding in isolation. Sewing in Upland, California.
One good thing was I finally got some REST!! I slept ALL DAY! I was so stressed that it was too much!! Today I'll be sewing and feeling amazing!! I'm from Memphis and we're quarantined!!
So happy to hear that you had some good, long, much needed sleep - I think that is going to be me in a few days :) Yes, we are in the same boat - but we will make it!
A year late, but my happy thing yesterday is that I used my new sewing/embroidery machine for the first time and made a receiving blanket and a couple burp rags for someone close to me who is expecting. I think they turned out great and was very happy with the results. :)
These look really cute. Now that I've seen yours, I think I'll try. My 17 year old grandson with VERY large feet loves unusual socks. Surely I can accommodate that kind of taste; I have trouble knowing what to try for him.
You made me smile, VERY large feet - same goes for my husband! Yes, you can totally accommodate that kind of taste! :) have fun sewing some unusual socks! :)
Australia! That's exciting, we have quite a few people watching from Australia here! Garden sounds great, I will try to spend some time tomorrow in our garden as well! Thank you for sharing!
Coming soon - I just finished a blanket for the living room, nothing fancy, but looks nice - I will make sure I show in the "March sewing makes" video, which will probably be uploaded this weekend! :)
I had 2 cups of latte sitting on my couch yesterday 😋. I’m in Los Angeles participating social distancing. I used to work at Starbucks also back in 1996-1999. Good times!
Oh wow, that what I need to do - I don't drink coffee latte, but tea latte - yes please! 96-99, wow, I had a supervisor that worked for me who's Partner Number started with 1 and was only 4 digits long, that's how long he has been with Starbucks, can't imagine! Good times indeed!
Now that you've made socks, do you think you could try tights? I'm looking for something warm and colorful to wear under dresses for fall. I wear long dresses usually (if I wear a skirt at all) and a fun peek of an interesting print like yours would be so cool! I can never find opaque tights in my size.
Love those socks, I’m definitely having a go at that. I’m still going to work, looking after adults with learning disabilities. For your map I live in the New Forest, Hampshire on the South Coast of England, right opposite the Isle of Wight 😊
I always wear my store socks inside out because I find the toe and heel seams uncomfortable. I'm excited to try these and putting my seams on the outside.
I got to have quality time with my husband! I'm in Illinois. Where did you get the pattern for the socks? They turned out really cute! I think this is perfect for gifts, especially sewn in velvet! Thanks!
I want to make these socks since I saw your video about fabric scraps, I've already tried to make gloves( and failed but I always want to improve my sewing skills), and by the way, I'm from Reunion Island , it's a french island in the indian ocean
Do you have any videos highlighting projects by recommended fabric type? For example, I have a pile of linen fabric and a pile of quilting cottons I’m looking to use but am not sure what projects they would be appropriate for sewing.
Hi, im Lithuanian living in UK. Love your videos. Can I ask where are you originally from??? You have pointed at Estonia or Latvia on the map when talked about your heart being in Europe?
