Thank you Dan. I worked on them today and I know them already (sort of ) it’s another useful way to know the fretboard by heart. That is what I try to accomplish. By ear.

I never knew my hands were deformed until I picked up bass a few months ago. My fingers don't spread like that.
Don’t worry at all. Just do what you can. Maybe you’ll need to shift around more but you don’t need ‘perfect’ technique. Just have fun.

Here’s my dumb way that I use to remember harmonic minor and melodic minor. Start with the minor scale. Then sharp the seven because what’s the “harm”? And then you really like it. So you decided to also sharp the sixth and you realize that it’s actually “mellow”. Stupid marijuana reference but it works for me!!
