Patrisse Cullors started the Twitter hashtag that launched a movement. Today #BlackLivesMatter is the banner of this generation’s civil rights movement and a call to activism nationwide. It is now also a global foundation supporting Black-led movements in the U.S., U.K. and Canada-and a 2021 Nobel Peace Prize nominee.
Join us on March 31 at 2 p.m. for a virtual event with Patrisse Cullors, where she will be talking to the Wayne State community about the new administration and how activists will hold them accountable through the collective power as a movement; abolition and the role it will play at the local and national levels; and the role of creativity and art - how it will help activists stay resilient in these collective moments of grief and despair.

since before the inception of this so-called organization I've started multiple go fund me attempting to help my family through homelessness. Tell me why not a single one got a single dollar ever. How can they explain any of this? I've had to work very hard for everything I have and still had things taken from me wrongly! Even By some of these activist! I started working at only 14 to pay my mother's bills. And I know many people who live the same story. So if they have all this money couldn't they have assisted anyone?

"Change Systems" like removing the father from the home so same sex couples can be rooted as normal and healthy for child development?
My thing is the mission statement was not conducive to the movement from the very beginning. They had no trustee board, balance sheet, or income statements and only produced financial records when pushed by the media. Granted, we all should have read the fine print, and maybe we would have understood their mission was not designed to align with the movement. That being said, willingly or unwillingly, they hurt the overall movement with what must be classified as a lack of knowledge or a lust for greed.
They didn’t grift millions from people while being stupid. Nothing to do with lack of knowledge, they KNOW we (black ppl) are EASILY duped and quick to impulsive reaction and emotional, Democrats have led us by the nose with that knowledge with little effort for decades. It’s greed that drove her simple as that.

The California DOJ has threatened to hold the leaders of Black Lives Matter personally liable over the charity's missing financial records
The organization has 60 days to disclose records about its $60 million in donations or it could have its tax-exempt status revoked
The charity could also face fines for 'each month or partial month for which the report(s) are delinquent'
The DOJ said 'directors, trustees, officers and return preparers' could be liable for 'all penalties, interest and other costs incurred to restore exempt status'
Charitable assets cannot be used to pay the costs associated with the matter
It is unclear with leaders would be held 'personally liable,' especially since all three co-founders are no longer affiliated with the organization
The notice comes just days after it was revealed that BLM has not had anyone in charge of its finances since co-founder Patrisse Cullors resigned last May
