Well, it’s not 18, but when I was rolling my stats for my barb (with the DM watching) I ended up with my lowest stat being 14, so that’s what his INT is.

Alas, this prophecy is also cured for disappointment my friend.
For while the Barbarian is Intelligent, The Bard is Chaste, The Wizard is Mighty, and The Ranger is Excellent....the eldritch beings, these creatures greater than gods who control these champions of light...are plagued by conditions we cannot begin to comprehend.
We only hear brief snippets of it, but we dare not decipher their hidden meanings: Scheduling Conflicts, Sheets Being Lost, Virtual Tabletops Offline, and then this reoccurring plague of Real Life / Work keeps being mentioned.
Someone do this, because the world could really use some saving right about now.
I once made a parody bard that was actually very faithful to his wife it was fun
he was a rich noble and kept adopting kids together with his changeling wife however people kept assuming he was a playboy because he had 50+ kids and every time he went around with a different looking girl

2:50 silly bard. The joke was that he had 36 kids because he was running an ORPHANAGE, taking care of kids who lost their parents in vicious monster attacks. And the reason he went on this adventure was to earn money for the ophanage, find the cause of these vicious monster attacks and maybe stop them so more children don't end up without parents....like him when he was their age. Music was the only thing that reminded him of his parents, who taught him to play the lyre in the first place, the only thing that brought him joy in life, and he had to rely on it to earn money while growing up on the streets, barely scraping by til his next meal. It's why his stats are low. It's why he is so weak, skinny, clumsy, unintelligent etc. Which is why he wanted to give others a better life
but after the player had enough of your constant ranting and incessant nagging, he finally gave in and turned you into the very thing you were afraid of becoming
One of the other members of the party was going to be a rouge who lost his parents at a young age and turned to stealing to survive. But one day, he tried to pickpocket the bard. The bard caught him, but instead of trying to punish him, he took him in and treated him like a son, giving him the love his parents never got to give him. He was moved by this gesture and stopped stealing, instead using his abilities to preform with the bard, doing tricks of sleight of hand to amazing crowds as the bard played accompanying music. Moved by what happened to him, he was ready to travel out with the bard on his noble quest.
But now that the bard mouthed off, the rouge is just someone who helps the bard kidnap children, still bitter about never knowing his parents.

He can't let them out cause the party is on to him, they think it's BBEG, just BBGG.
I believe that is canon. He keeps them in an alternate pocket dimension that gets stored in the basement thanks to warlock and wizard. That way they can raid snacks without waking the whole house.

depends are the dragons either silver or gold because if they are then they can turn human/humanoid so yes and no

@@joshuaholland5279 Are you talking about ones that live their whole lives in trees? Then no, simply because the dragons grow so large, but some do live in forested areas and swamplands. There are also smaller dragon-like creatures, one is called a Pseudodragon that could live whole lives in trees. Drakes and Wyverns can live in forests their whole lives as well. Or how about a Plant Creature, shaped like a dragon?
That being said, you want a tree dragon? You can have a tree dragon in your game. Draw up the rules or use a dragon template, such as for a Green Dragon, and say they only grow 15-20 feet large, unless you have massive trees that can hold the weight.

I thought the twist in the end would be that they are all adopted and he's the best and nicest person in all the realms. He is sick of a horrible, dibilitating genetic disease, but he tries his best.

Bard Skills aside, I’m surprised Ranger hasn’t gotten the gist yet. Was he really that hopeful? I helped my brother build his first DND character for a one shot I ran, and he kept pace with a Barbarian’s DPS, doing about 40 damage a round. They need more love.

I know right? I played a ranger in the previous campaign I was a part of, and everyone had really good builds and I was easily doing the most damage out of everyone. The campaign was cancelled due to circumstances when we were level 13 but as a dwarven ranger I was easily doing more damage than anyone else.
Ranger's have been getting some love for some time now, specially in Tasha's.

True story, for a campain I played a bard, then for the next campain, I played his son. Considering how things were with my bard, when I played his son, each time we got to a new city, the DM told me to roll a d20, which was the number of sibilings he had in that city...

I believe, the "bard is just a rogue who is into music" style is underestimated. The smuggler bard who is always in some trouble is one of the best characters I have ever played. On the other hand, I'm not sure if it is funny to watch.
I gave my bard the criminal background and it was the best descision I've ever made. I asked my DM if he could do a crime before joining the party (getting out of town would be his reason for adventuring), DM asked if I would mind if it was a plot important item, I agreed and next thing you know my boy is on the run from a crime syndicate for stealing a dragon egg from them.
I have a bard like that, a yuan-ti assassin bard using the criminal background. He is now on the run for treason since he couldn't bring himself to kill a child. and is somehow one of the more moral and sane members of the party...

Saw a person who played a bard and in there backstory they had adopted an entire orphanage. They went with noble background and his call to adventure was to help make money with their performances and not only support them with their family’s wealth.

the worst part is that i purposely made my bard on being more of a con man thief who only seduces people to strait up rob them....recently we as players found out that he may have single handedly brought his species back from being endangered (in this world his sub-species of elf were almost wiped out due to a disaster a hundred years or so ago)

Reminds me of the bard who thought they were a paladin but all the miracles ended up being terrible party tricks. So he “renounced” the gods and went full evil, praying to the one god who listened to him-Cthulhu. Eventually multiiclassed into goo warlock. A lot of orphans got murdered in temples

This is a really sad stereotype for bards. I love bards, easily my favorite class to play. But people can be really annoying with the whole seduction thing (even if bards are particularly good at that). I've seen plenty of warlocks played that way, paladins too. It's just annoying when some of us want to be a fun support character. Wonderful video!

Yep. Just got myself out of what was quickly becoming one of those DnD horror stories because our horny bard had the subtlety of a brick. His entire personality was "I'm charasmstically smiling" and "I have a boner." That's not me summarizing, those are the actual words he used.
Due to story reasons my level 3 wizard got access to the Black Tentacles spell. Of course all the horny bard heard was "tentacles" so he pestered me over and over again to cast it on him.
It only got worse when his friend joined. He was playing a Source (it was a Witcher game) and his magical trigger? Sex. Of course.
I just wanted to go on an adventure, not have to sit there and listen to two dudes erotically role-play. I don't ever want to play a game with a bard in it again. All that anyone ever does is make a horny bard.

One of my favorite characters was a Bard who was a jester. Their spells were even themed as such - magic missile looked like little pies, etc. (older dnd edition)
I was looking at some of the skills of a Ranger the other day, and they do have some nice skills I wouldn't mind trying.....if only I can find someone to try with.
Rangers also have really good spells like Goodberry, Conjure Animals, and Pass Without Trace.

I have an idea for a bard who's actually super wholesome. He's really introverted, and hates being the center of attention, but he loves writing and playing music and he's really good at it, so he just gets in the zone and starts playing and forgets people are around. Of course, then he finishes playing and he's super uncomfortable with all the applause and he basically just hides from the crowd. Also, every single time he finishes writing a piece, he sends it over to his sister who training to be a wizard at a wizard academy, because she's the one who taught him to play his first instrument and he misses her.
I laughed until my eyes teared up. For me, that's very rare.

For those who like the ranger, I salute your devotion to the single best exploration class in the game who is also pretty good in a fight. For those who need some convincing or want other options, check out the revised or spell-less ranger; both are pretty sweet (I personally REALLY like the spell-less ranger). Just double check with your DM to be sure if its ok
My favorite bard is a warforged who has a magnetic pink mustache as his disguise, wraps himself up in Christmas lights that my DM lets me use as a makeshift whip to do cool stunts with, has a small hoard of cats, and just wants to open a cafe to house all the cats he's picking up. No one knows how the Christmas lights are on. We just went with magically enchanted. Oh, and apparently he smells like cinnamon according to my DM. I love him so much.

I've got a bard who really does not understand sex. In the most recent session someone thought they were flirting and told them that she wasn't interested and their response was, "what are you talking about? Is that a sex thing?"

My Cleric that I've been working on has stats that are actually a little similar here. She's high in wisdom and charisma, but is exceedingly low in everything else. That plus the negative modifiers, I accidentally made an weak, air-headed idiot, who is so charismatic that no one cares.
Ooohh that is actually a great idea. Unassuming but grim dark Bard, like the Pied Piper of Hamelin. Except Pied Piper got 130 kids while this novice only got 36.
People make fun of him, or cheat him, he smiles amiably and says they shouldn't have done that and leaves. Next day the offender's life becomes a living hell and no one could find hair nor hide of the bard ever again.

After making each class, come back to the Ranger and make him with the highest rolls and a wicked background.

I am so down for this to be a recurring series, with multiple videos for each class, exploring various jokes/tropes/ subversions.
Plus, there’s always subclasses to mix in…
For some reason my brain went much more wholesome than the ending. I saw 36 kids and immediately thought, okay they previously ran an orphanage; good starting point if one/some of the kid/kids were kidnapped or if the building was burned down from arson/dragon. Would also explain all the negative modifiers cause that shit will just eat your soul as time goes on.
I played a Bard. His was a wareforged named Box... well, the DM set him to be a prototype wareforged. Making him a foot tall and he only needed four hours of rest... but completely shut down, as in once I was out nothing about wake me up. He was played as a child type running around with the group and was used to help the party get away with stuff and get discounts "Pwease I would like to get a heawth potion to protect my fweinds". He was cute and I love him. My party even said if anything happened to Box they would kill everyone and destroy the universe. When one of his friends was sad about not getting a card collection he wanted Box sat and made him cards to make him happy. The guy thought he was going to get the Deck of Man Things but it was a trick so Box (not understanding what that was) made him cards that said stuff like "Box will get you the nicest rock around" or "Box will tell you one of his most popular stories".
Oh these skits are amazing!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do one for every class!!
I made my bard a gold dragonborn himbo whos to dumb and sweet to tell if anyone is hitting on him and doesn't actually intentionally hit on anyone. Also i made him a sailor

The Outlander background if I remember correctly has an ideal option that reads "I must produce offspring for my clan" (or something like that)

The Bard runs an orphanage and his backstory is that a pied-piper like Rival trapped them all in a phantasmal state. They are currently being watched by clerics in the protected basement of the orphanage.
He’s on a quest to find his old foe and free them, bringing the children out of the basement and back into reality.
As usual, you took every expectation I had and threw it straight out the window! "36 Kids. . . in his basement!" 🤐
As for the poor dear ranger. . . . SIR HOW DARE YOU!
Bard is probably my favorite class in the game, for 5e. You can do so much with them aside from just seducing everything, even though the meme for bard is absolutely true and I am guilty of playing it a few times.
But being a full caster with a really good selection of spells, being able to inspire the party and debuff enemies significantly on top of being decent at all the different skills to fill roles that no one knows might be needed... It's the ultimate support role. Through spellcasting and your mysteries of being able to take any spell in the game, bards even keep up at dealing decent damage.
Even though the party usually forgets to use their buffs unless I remind them EVERY GODDAMN TURN! Either that, or they use it for their next attack roll immediately, and fail the next saving throw that is the reason you gave them it in the first place... C'MON! I GAVE THE PALADIN INSPIRATION FOR THEIR DEX SAVE! They just use it to hit one of their bajillion attacks instead... This is why bards get a bad rep in 5e, not because they're bad... But because people don't use their abilities right.
My bard (first character) has 9 strength, 10 constitution, and 20 charisma. Her charisma is so high because she's very persuasive. My goal is to get to the BBEG fight and pull a fast one on my DM with the peasant cannon. Until then, she's just gonna do what she wants and get away with it by convincing people that she didn't do it. (She also multiclasses as a domain of trickery cleric)

Sorcerer: Stops concentration on the dragon’s turn.
Rules as written, the dragon loses two turns.
With the inability to take actions until after it’s next turn, the party should be able to destroy it, right? If not bloody it?

I'm confused. Wouldn't Jack of All Trades just makes those all -1? Like I'm not crazy right, it's only half proficiently rounded down right? So at most, at level 20 it's a +3 boost making all those ....a whooping +1.

My bard character I've been thinking of using has an interesting twist for things
Thinking I might make a bard that acts seductive but when you go to there room they make you close your eyes and then they slit your throat for the dark lord. There also part warlock probably should have mentioned that.
I'm a DM, and the best NPC I've ever created/played as was a tiefling bard. The hook was that she was 50-ish, but because tieflings age slower than humans, she was basically an adolescent. She lived at home with her "super old" mom (72, but human, so actually old), volunteered at her local library, carried her lute everywhere, and was trying to impress some local human young adults because she wanted to join their band. She was bright pink with frizzy hair and talked like the perkiest 14 year old you've ever met.

Bard is 100% my fave class. I always had asoft spot for Life Cleric 1 than tossing in College of Lore Bard for the rest.
I've started doing Order Cleric 1 since Tasha's - not as much healing, but letting your allies attack on your spells feels so good as a support 😁

-Tobias, a Bardblin. He just goes around playing music and trying to talk about goblin lore and such. He's very sweet, but also lowkey a gremlin. Hits you with a spell then hides or runs off.

Played a Paladin for years, never seduced in my life. I was too busy controlling the party sense I was 'the mom' in the group.
Now Warlock, slightly the same, but I did terrify the shit out of some of the npcs when I played a Fiend Warlock.
Bards are still the top seducer. I had my bard in one session that I just played slept with two women... which found out they were doppelgangers and killed me in my sleep. Never seduce npcs who you found along the side of the road to go to baldur's gate.
Ok but I internally shiver every time the dm asks me for a strength check. It’s not even that bad, just +0.

Frankly, a secretly evil bard who uses their charisma to move suspicion away from them sounds like such an interesting character if you and the DM manage to actually communicate and get it to work in the story correctly

I just spent a couple of minutes thinking about the twist in the end, and I just realized that, since he's a bard, he is the Pied Piper who lead the children in the basement as a revenge to a town.
I've actually played a bard before. A NG tiefling bard name Leucis Gelmori to be exact. He may engage in light flirting, but won't go past that. There is already someone he loves dearly, but can't be together with because of past events that split up the guild that both of them were in. She is also the one that gave him the lute he carries with him. He just loves to see the smiles on people's faces as he plays. Of all of the characters I had played before, he was the one I had the most fun playing. Unfortunately the group I played him in was only able to meet once. I hope to play him again sometime.
My winged tiefling bard survived a TPK, I feel offended for him lol
