I baked this cake this evening. The cake is very light and tender. The crust is crunchy and i put leftover lemon cream cheese frosting on my piece of cake, which was still pretty warm. Very delicious cake!

This recipe is gold. Do everything she says! Be careful not to over mix once you start adding flour. I also added a pinch of salt to flour and sifted together once. This is a delicious cake!! Add more lemon if that’s your thing but I love the way mine turned out..

Before you put the batter in the pan spray the inside of the pan with bakers joy. I let it cool for about 20-30 minutes and it should come right out the Pan.

I'm going to try your recipe. I failed making pound cake. Found a recipe called Nana's pound cake where it said to beat the batter(flour already mixed in) for 20 minutes! I knew it's not going to work and should have followed my guts but followed the recipe as is and my cake crust was hard and inside the cake was gummy like it's undercooked.
Yes this recipe is very easy to follow and no you should never beat the batter for that amount of time with the flour... yeah when you said 20 minutes I knew the outcome wasn’t gonna be good! Lol let me know how it turns out for you. Thanks for Watching!

Hi, yes preheat your oven. I use both bakers joy and the grease & flour method either is fine with the bundt pans I find it a little easier using the spray.
HunniDae, this cake is gonna be a hit at Christmas dinner. Let me know how it turns out. If your baking in a gas oven the baking time my be 10-20 minutes less.

I've never used that technique of separating the yolks from the whites and then add it back to the batter with the egg whites. That I have used the technique so adding two or one more yolk to it and I never use sour cream in my pound cake that's must be something I must have to try

Hey, yes it works just fine with a hand mixer. Just make sure it has the whipped cream texture, you will get the same results

Baking soda and the lemon juice react to cause the rise. Also the egg whites helped.
Question? Your cake looks taller than mine! Perhaps I didn’t put enough baking soda? I put the recommended amount off of your ingredients.

I wouldn’t recommend baking the pound cake in those pans, because the texture would be dense. But you can test it out.

Hi, your gonna use 2 1/2 cups of sugar in the batter and an extra 1/2 cup in the egg whites. So total it would be 3 cups of sugar.
