Adam Mako' s book Spearhead throws more light on this battle. An excellent insight into both sides in Cologne👍

It was a wonderful historical coverage video about colone city confronted between Pershing American tank crew's and German Panzer 4 crew's .video shared by an excellent ( War academy) channel. I think two German tank commanders fought furiously and talented rather than desperate circumstances of Germany at that time. While US tank crew's utterly dependent on Pershing powerful firepowers and advanced military circumstances of Allies

Even eisenhower admitted that if hitler didn't order his troops to stand fast in West part of the rhine that resulted in 240000 troops being captured by allies and if he didn't waste his troops in battle of the bulge, operation nordwind, bodenplatte and ... Germans could defend the rhine for much more longer time.

The most decisive factor for this matter is also Operation Spring Awakening started 6 March. Imagine these troops put instead of western front... It was Hitler operation, not Generals, because generals wanted these troops to defend no attack. So, Hitler transfered troops to Hungary and Americans launched attack to nomands land....

There is a fact error in this video. It was only the shop keeper driving the car who was killed. The female shop assitent was badly wounded and transported to a field hospital after the tank crew realised they had opened fire on civilians. The shop assistent survived.

    If only
the allies had Pershing tank's a year earlier. They would have made a huge difference in tank battles. The allies really didn't have a heavy tank. Stalin tank was a heavy tank but I don't consider the Soviet Union a real alliance. They did attack Poland also with the Germans.

You cannot look at this correctly without looking at the cost and time to produce either. War is very much about economics.

Actually , the Pershing never missed . The panther was hit three times . The first shot hit the engion compartment , Which caused the crew to start to evacuate , the Pershing crew fired a 2nd shot , killing one of the crew outright , then a 3rd , which set off some of the ammmunition . The pershing was a new design , but that crew was very well trained in it , why they were able to fire repeat rounds so quickly . The 90mm on the pershing would over penetrate all the time , going through both sides of a T34 in Korea , making the crew believe they missed . It was a good gun , and could have easily defeated a tiger 1 .

Meh... It is ony "legendary", because the murican Tank won... 🙄
A lot more interesting fights happened elsewhere, especially on the Eastern Front, where the majority of Fighting on a huge scale happened - a fact americans are barely aware of.
