For years I’ve seen Jay Leno driving around west hills area on the 101 and my neighborhood in hidden hills.
From steam powered and that turbine car he built to motorcycles etc etc he drives them all. You can’t miss his head driving down the 101.
Anytime he’d drive by the clubhouse he’d stop by talk for a while and check out the bikes. Really down to earth man that doesn’t act like a lot of the rich & famous here in so cal. He also has helped with auctions and charity run’s, just a good dude.
In my opinion (not that it matters to you) he’s doing it right by driving his car’s and motorcycle’s instead of letting them sit untouched.

the way Jay Leno speaks in these videos when he's just talking to the audience, and not with a guest reminds me of the way a a grandfather would talk to his grand kids. It's clear he wants to impart not just the experience, but the enthusiasm and enjoyment he's felt over the years. It's nice to watch someone talk about something that both you and they enjoy.

I bought my first car from my dad in 1997. It was a 89 Ford Festiva LX. 58 hp and 73 ft/lbs of torque. I went off to college in southern California with this and it was pure driving bliss. Once done with college back in Charlotte NC I was stopped by a police officer on a back road. He stopped me because I was going too fast for conditions, but what he said was, It's a Festiva, not a Ferrari. You were sideways coming around that corner." Got 55 in a 45 for that...The Festiva stock was the mini of my generation.

I've owned 6 SHOs and loved and missed every one. Especially my 1990 that the power steering was out the majority of the time I owned it, and caused me to wrap it around a tree in the winter on a country road up here in Wisconsin going 75mph. Very safe cars as well. Any other car I probably would have never walked away from that accident.

I worked on the F-117 program while I served in the Air Force and I think Jay is doing a burnout right down the street from where my Jets were built, that's awesome. I've never understood why they destroyed all those buildings and history in the process in that area. It kind of makes me sick to think about it, think of all the jobs that were just thrown away there by not keeping that plant going. At one time they brought raw materials in on rail on one end and kicked aircraft out in rapid succession on the other. If memory serves me right the SR-71 was also built there as well as some other great aircraft. I know that site has been involved in aviation for almost 100 years and not far away is the Portal of the Folded Wings Shrine, so much history that seems to escape the locals there. When I was around there I dated a girl named Hannah that had absolutely no idea that all this historic stuff was right under her nose all her life. It seems like some sort of local history class is needed in schools these days.

I thought it was so cool that both of those cool cars were owned by guys in my barracks. I never got tired of seeing them.

Now that I think about it, I probably looked like a total rube because she was actually quite attractive, and I totally ignored her for her car every time I saw her. 😆😆 She had a Honda Del Sol that I STILL regret not buying to this day.
