It depends on how you are using InstantTV for your channel. I'd reach out to InstantTV and ask based on your type of channel with them. However, Roku publically stated that all Direct Publisher channels would be removed from the platform back in January. So, if your channel is still publically accessible, I think you're OK.
Why do I need to create a business account on wordpress to do this? Is there any other method to do the feed URL without any coding? Or is this the only way? If this is the only way, then why do I have to pay $25 dollars per month for doing a business account on wordpress?
Try hostgator.com . Get the cheap hosting account, throw up a website for your channel then put your streaming wp account on a sub domain. That way, you can have a site for promotion and in case ROKU viewers want to check out your channel details.

Can one create a live roku channel where viewers can see the content like a normal news channel like CNN. Let’s say I want to have programs after one another like a play out, do you think I can do that on roku.
Yes, 100% possible. Hundreds of channels do it. If the content is live (let's say news) you can tie the live video feed into your channel. Conversely, you can also just set a list of pre-recorded videos to play in a loop, and whatever is playing when the user loads your channel is what they get.
@@abtoziam2648 It will take several applications. If we assume this is a live event, you'll need to stream it ("live upload") to a CDN - Content Delivery Network. Hello Mike, I have been procrastinating for yrs on building my Roku channel. Maybe it's a good thing I waited because the Direct Channel wasn't an option. My question is, I make how to videos with screen capture and so on. Basically .mp4 videos. Are these type of videos good enough quality for a Roku channel?
Yes! First you need to do a screen record (with audio!) that doesn't suck. Screenflow by Telestream is great. OBS is free and *can* work well, but you really gotta do some tests to ensure you're not capturing the screen in an extreme lossy way. Once captured with a good codec, any NLE should be able to edit it (in fact, Screenflow has built in basic editor). MP4 is a wrapper - not a codec. So, if you are using MP4 - which is usually an h.264 under the hood) - ensure your bitrate is high enough for your raster size. If you plan on a single MP4, then you need to make some hard decisions. An MP4 with high bitrate may be difficult for folks to play with a slower device or weak internet connection. A data rate too low, and the quality suffers. This is why I go with HLS, as I can encode each video at different quality levels, and the player determines what the viewer can handle. Good luck - and thanks for watching.
Live stream and playing videos one after another are 2 different things. If it's a live feed, you need the live URL *to the media* of the stream. You can then put that into your Direct Publisher channel. This means using an *.mp4 link, or an HLS link...*not* a webpage, but the actual media stream. Hello! I'm not sure I understand your questions. AFAIK UA-cam does not allow UA-cam to be played via a personal UA-cam channel - only via the UA-cam Roku channel. Plus, UA-cam doesn't publicly expose the direct mp4 link of the video to use in the path name for a Roku video. I recommend using another video host (Vimeo, for example), or other cloud storage like S3 from AWS. Good Luck!
I'm not sure that would be applicable for this video. This guide is to help you deploy a channel, not to source content for it. However, the first thing you should do is get rights to show the content, then put it on a CDN that exposes and streams the video in one of the acceptable formats. From there, it's as easy as adding metadata to your WordPress +the plugin I demoed in this video. Thanks for watching!

I think I found the issue? To add the Roku channel I ... You must have at least one device linked to your account before you can add a channel. So my question is? Can I use someone elses Roku device at a different location to do this? Or do I have to get a Roku device?
What do I ask my friend? Some Roku code? If so what do I give to her and/or where do I add my information within the temp roku acct?
ok. Got that done. The feed url is still hanging up. I will install jetpack. I created two posts on my videos but do I have to create a post on a page?
Jetpack did not do the error that I get from Roku: Unable to download from feedUrl. I put up two shows on Vimeo and put their links within WP Smart TV - Video section. (within my dashboard I created my video and published them but they are not shown anywhere in my webpage as a post page nor widget selection)? In my Roku account, above NVTV logo, it states unpublished. Any options?
IS THERE A 2020 UPDATE OF THIS INFORMATION ---
It still works in 2020. Did it last week for a client.
Can i use facebook vids? Or am i going to have to get that vimeo subscription? Are there any free video hosting sites?
Sorry for the delay!
You'd have to try it. I never have. I *seriously* doubt it would work, as UA-cam wants you to watch content on *their* platform. Using them just to host media and stream ONLY the video appears to not be in their best interest. I'd expect tons of errors.
Good luck!
Is filezilla a good method for uploading content and is it functional? Also, is viemeo pro not as good as your top three options?
Filezilla is great! Vimeo pro will work just fine. I didn't want to be locked into a Pro account with Vimeo, so I looked elsewhere.

how much is maximum data rate on LiveU solo. Nobody wants to share this info
do you have to pay for wordpress?
SelfNote:❤🐘💙[Peace yaa'll;
Tell me does
1) modification to my UA-cam uploads also go against UA-cam's terms etcetera if I post ONLY the modified VIDEO to MY Roku channel;
2) Can I simply just remove/delete totally the UA-cam videos I may have from UA-cam then put then on to my channel on ROKU]
Good Luck!
Great video, but how do I get a wordpress acct, so that I can update my videos?
Michael Kammes thank you, I’ll try it now!
Can I have different Categories on my Channel?
Do you have any videos discussing how you can make money on Roku through advertisement?
IM A NEW SUBSCRIBER YO!
On my WordPress Dashboard i don't see My Videos
Michael Kammes it is there now and now it says it is not loading the thumbnail of my video test
Michael Kammes I am using the WP Smart TV and it says optional longDescription is empty
Im still struggling with this!
When I install the Smart TV Plugin I got a "taxonomy in isset or empty" error on wordpress
Thank you for your prompt response.
How do i find movies to stream?
I'm not sure that would be applicable for this video. This guide is to help you deploy a channel, not to source content for it. However, the first thing you should do is get rights to show the content, then put it on a CDN that exposes and streams the video in one of the acceptable formats. From there, it's as easy as adding metadata to your WordPress +the plugin I demoed in this video.

I want to add tvmexico.live how to add it
Hello! We'll assume you've followed all of the steps in the video to build a channel. You'll also need to check with TVMexico to make sure they allow you to stream their service.
Next, you'll need the live streaming URL of TVMexico. Then, put that URL into the WP Smart TV plug-in in Wordpress. This will then update the JSON file so a user can access it on your channel.
Good luck, and thanks for watching.
