The Constellations are S+ Tier for solo bunkers they can easily tank and destroy aggressive turrets and if you don't want to risk getting you can bring a ground vehicle
You know I wouldn't mind seeing a Connie with a med bed. Maybe drop the P52 and a small portion of the storage, and place a tier 1 med bed in the back.
Haven’t seen anyone mention it so I will, the c8r is a drastically underrated ship for bunkers. It’s small size and agility allow you to avoid and land under the firing areas of turrets. It’s built in med beds can cure any teir 3 injury as well as remedy hunger and thirst. It’s fuel capacity/efficiency is absolute god teir, I’ve done literal 8 hour sessions with only needing one refuel. For $65 the c8r is an absolute must have and a permanent addition to my fleet. It has become a must have on my carrack and 890. It’s nimble speed and great atmospheric flight profile makes entering and exiting atmosphere an absolute breeze. I run my absolutely stock as it comes pretty damn perfect out of the box. It’s short claim time and great stock QT makes it my go to shuttle when I’m traveling to a station that has a higher claim time ship stored at it. When IAE came along I showed it the love it deserved by melting my 6 month for a 120 month version. For anyone whom enjoys medical gameplay this is a must have. I’ve got my galaxy already and it’s hospital module, once it’s released it and the c8r will be my daily drivers as the c8r fits perfectly in it. Making it a perfect ambulance and hospital combo. Hope this helps someone make their decision when looking for a bunker ship or even an alternative to a jack of all trades starter ship.
One common loadout for bunkers I've seen is a C2 or M2 with a ground vehicle of choice from tonk to Spartan APC plus a C8R parked in the rear fpr topping up health and handling lesser injuries. Also nice having the communal storage for guns and gear against just personal storage.
i use my 400i for bunker missions, can carry a small truck or hoverbike and both when X1 comes out. Plus if i land at a friendly bunker and accidentally kill a guard the shields are usually enough to hold the ship until i can get back to the surface and take off! Always appreciate your content thankyou!
The tarapin great bunker ship. Vtol works extremley well. Quick on off durable. The valk is my all around ship planet jumping Origin 400i. 100 series fast on and of planet side fast get away easy to fly.
I don't play SC atm, but I used to heavily recommend the Constellation Taurus back when it was 150$. I'd still expect it to perform reasonably well in this role. Overall I think we have to wait and see how ground combat turns out. CIG has promised a lot and delivered almost nothing so far. One big concern would be Titan suits. If they're comparable to a MAX from Planetside, then making use of them would be a requirement for other ships/vehicles for Bunkers IMO. Another point would be, that we have no dedicated transport vehicle. If we'd get something like a Ballista but with a 32SCU container on it's back, then ships able to transport it would likely become a lot more viable for (large) bunker missions.
My personal favourite for bunkers most days is my 400i. I can land right at the door of most bunkers (unless they've got silos), so looting is easy. It has a S3 shield and dual Rhinos for the pilot so any bounties spawned overhead aren't a problem. And if the bunker is hostile, I've got my STV in the cargo hold so it's an easy drive it. Plus, the 400i with the Meridian paint, with an STV and the Blue steel, and a Nox Kue up front just looks fine.
I recently discovered the Vanguard Hoplite for Bunkers. If you equip the ship with full ballistic canon loadout it only takes a couple of second per turret and they are down and with the 6 jumpseats in the back you can easily carry some friends if you need to or a 1SCU box.
I like my cutter. Low Profile, Solo, heavy weapons rack, can fit a stv. I can land far away and just sneaky snek to a target or bounty. Or just travel and look around for fun.
Here's hoping they revisit the STV before 3.20 goes live. They fiddled with all the driving models for all vehicles... and the STV drives like absolute crap.
With all the bug or glitch related ship destruction happening i usually prefer ships with short claim times. So: For friendly bunkers i would add the Avenger and Mustang to the list. If i need to drive i tend to go for the Nomad if i dont want to bring my Red. They are easy to hide and can deploy my STV
I would like to add, the Redeemer. It is a solid gunship, and with light crew, you can get in and out of any fight, and have the option to drop 4 extra people on top of the 4 main crew. Only downside, is lack of ground vehicle space. But the size 5 turrets take care of most threats.
Terrapin is great for solo. Titan is fine and has good storage. The Black is good, and can haul a small vehicle. The 300 series is good as you can lower the storage for loading.
I wish there was a Freelancer GUN version that has up to four remote-controlled turrets that can all be interfaced by the crew via the cockpit, making a scary weapons platform.
Playing as a solo, when I'm doing friendly bunkers I bring a Cutlass Red with a 1SCU box. If I'm doing hostile bunkers I bring a Valkyrie with an Ursa and a 1SCU box. I used a 100i for over a year as my starter. I finally got sick of clipping through the ground and falling through using the stairs.
Favorite bunker ship for legal security bunkers is a C8R Pisces (mine is full Stealth A), let’s me park right on the ramp, to tractor bodies from lift into the ship. Illegal bunkers, I’ve used Corsair, A2 and 400i, which is fast in atmosphere n has an S3 shield. A2 let’s me drive a Spartan in for looting, but you have the gun/shield/bombs so can just take out the turrets. A friend uses his 890 Jump, and just ignores bunker turrets..
Shout out to the Defender, possibly the best handling small ship in atmo, tons of range, and a size 2 shield. It is small, carries a squad, a good pilot can take out the turrets, and usually it's easy to find just a blind spot to park in. No vehicle, no turrets.
It's great that a Star Citizen YT-er is positing using a ship to tank and destroy hostile bunker's AA turrets. I've watched so many players land their ships far from the bunker, out of range of its turrets, and either run or drive a vehicle to and from the bunker. This drives me crazy! The Redeemer is my go-to ship for my cred combo of Group ERTs and Dangerous Bunkers. Equipped with dual FR-86 shields, it can easily tank AA fire long enough for the ship's quad S3 gimballed laser repeaters to destroy the four turrets. The Redeemer can also carry a S1 cargo crate to make looting the bunker more convenient. And if you screw up and kill a NPC guard, the Redeemer is tough enough to endure fire from the AA turrets long enough for you to take the bunker elevator back up, get into the ship, and take off. That said, there are many ships that can accomplish this. I've done it in an Avenger by using nearby hills as cover, popping out, blasting an AA turret, ducking behind cover again while my shields regen-ed, and repeating. It's also possible to use a Cutlass. Of course, this is with the usual Desync. If you're on a low pop server with minimal desync, AA turrets are incredibly deadly, so only a Redeemer can pull it off. But in that instance, the NPC enemies inside the bunker will also be incredibly deadly and you could die, so it would be smart to bring a Carrack or 890J so you can respawn inside the ship and get back to the bunker faster. Just remember to stock your Carrack with gear because the NPCs will be too deadly fast to allow you to recover your corpse's weapons and gear.
Both ways are fine, but people shouldn't be limited to just hiding and running in. The FR shields have been my favorite for a long time, and the Redeemer is a really tough nut. I scrapped it from the list based on lack of vehicle and "cargo space" but when thinking of looting, you're very right to call it out. Good addition!
Have not played much this year so don't know if something changed. Basically for solo all you need is a C8 as the game is now. You typically work one planet since the missions are tied to their security service (Crusader is my preferred), so fuel isn't an issue. There isn't really a point to ranking up all the planets as it's a grind that doesn't give you anything. There isn't an economic advantage really to doing the bunkers where the turrets are up, just fly in to the ones with security and get it done. You don't need a med bed if you are solo because typically getting hit to the extent you will have some serious injury means you will be downed and either have to lay there for 40 minutes until someone gets around to rescuing you or just respawn and come back. For team bunkers a med bed is good. If you are a looter space may be important, but I guess for me once I have a half dozen F9s I am good. If you are working with a friend then you want something with a med bed, so the C8R or the Cutty Red. You can also put a golf cart in the red if you want to do the hostile bunkers. If you want to cheese it to rank up, just do the 15K missions in a C8, do the bunker and quit to menu. You will wake up at your last spawn location where you claim your C8 and do it again. You lose any loot not on your body, but progress through leveling faster.
Honestly we need harder missions to have a reason for bigger ships with multicrew. The fact that every profession or activity at the moment at the hardest level is still more efficiently completed with a small solo ship, makes multicrew redundant. Solos can do ERT faster and better and with more profit. Solos can run the highest level bunkers. Solos can salvage the largest of wrecks with the highest profit margins.
Here lately it’s been stable enough in my experience to pretty much live out of my Corsair with a rover in the back. Really can’t go wrong with the Corsair, solo or with a small crew it’s a great ship.
I can't believe the Corsair in the constellation didn't make this list somehow. Both can carry a ground vehicle both have enough DPS and tank to pop the turrets you can just land right at the front.
Idea for a video; what ships do we need that they haven't thought of yet? A small, single pilot Pioneer? A trainee version of the Kraken? Just a thought.
Titan with a buggy is easy cheap fix for bunkers. Thats all you need. You can also drag a box around in there if you choose too. No medbed, but hey, cant use a bed if you die anyways. Tahts what med pens and guns are for, to keep you alive so you dont die.
Really need the Valkyrie to get a Gold standard run and redesign, ditch the wing turrets and swap the spots inside for a couple decent size 3 shield bays like the redeemer or even one like the conny.
Connies are best really. Carry an Ursa with a box in the back, drive to the bunker take the box with you and load it up then unload in the Connie when you're back.

I use a 85x for bunkermissions. Its very fast. I use a p6 sniper with 3x optics. So i have space for 2 loot weapons. I dont loot the rest. Take too long. In that time i made the next bunker mission. For the pirate bunkers i walk a bit, but i take that mission if there is no other one.
Tried quite a few, no favourites, most bunkers you can get to within 1000m below the firing arc and unless your planning on looting every single piece or armour and weapon that’s close enough for me. If I want to destroy turrets I’ll use a rail gun but they often help shield my ship from other hostile players so I leave them in place
Don't laugh, but from a money making stand point the Vulture is the best for bunkers. You have to pick the right missions and then you Strat off by hull-scraping the remnants of the ships that are most likely going to be there then you go do the mission. You have protection because of the turrets and it make hull scraping a little more interesting plus you make more Creds...
I personally perfer the defender. While its not a medical ship or carrier like the others, and it doesn't have a med bed. Its got decient firepower for its size. It hits hard enough to takr out the turrets, and is manuverable enough to avoid their fire as you fly in if needed. When landed it is a bit bigger than a pices, but not by enough to worry about. Additionally, its the only ship which i am aware of that can install the fastest size 1 quantum drive, and still make it all the way across stanton. Ive rescued so many firends using this ship its not even funny. And even though it doesnt have an official cargo grid, ive stored multiple 1/4 scu boxes inside it without issue. And while it doesnt fit nicely even a full 1scu box. Fits inside, with room to get arround. (At one time i had 1 full 1scu box and 2 smaller 1/4 scu boxes and still was able to do wverything i needed.) On top of all that it makes a decent dropship in a pinch.
I tend to use a Cutter for friendly bunkers and I put a mule inside it if I need to drive to a hostile bunker. If I am feeling bloody minded I will put a vehicle in my Corsair and either drive in or use the formidable firepower to take out the turrets. It is very vulnerable to airborne threats in atmosphere though so I might use my MSR to bring a vehicle as the MSR can outrun most airborne threats.
Why are you using dated concept images of the Carrack? It does not look like that. It leaves the impression of a lower quality that the channel deserves.
Mostly because I have super limited time to make videos at the moment, and the information is still good, even if the visuals are lacking to some degree.
@@STLYoungblood sorry, I missed a word in my last sentence. It was to say: "...of a lower quality that the channel *doesn't* deserve." Sure, the information is good and having limited time is understandable but now that leaves more questions.. ALL THREE of the looped Carrack images were concept images so how/where do you find your visuals? Do you have a small Carrack folder of outdated images or did you waste your limited time googling "Carrack images" instead of simply visiting the RSI ship page directly for current Carrack visuals? It's just hard to believe that someone who is so knowledgeable about Star Citizen would be ignorant to looping 3 outdated images of the Carrack during editing. Either you were ignorant to it or you didn't care. My apologies, I know that came off as aggressive. Your channel is actually one of the few SC channels I enjoy watching but a mistake like that in the context of "having limited time", without owning up to the tiny mistake, doesn't sit right with me. It feels like you've been phoning it in. Especially for someone being one of the top 3 content creators and having a Patreon. Anyway, there's no ill will and I look forward to your next quality videos.

There was work being done on the X1 this year huh...
135c for all the reasons listed + cool airbus style door animation always brings me joy
The 600i explorer will be a very good option in the near future for bunker because it will have a medical bed and is a very resistant ship.
The tarapin great bunker ship. Vtol works extremley well. Quick on off durable. The valk is my all around ship planet jumping Origin 400i. 100 series fast on and of planet side fast get away easy to fly.

890 jump. It also has a respawn med bed, capital shields, and you can bring along a Nova tonk. Pretty solid!
Bro... You're talking about bringing a sub-capital class luxury starliner cruise ship to go do bunker missions
looking forward to the C1 with STV combo for bunkers, though getting loot on the stv might be very limited.

C1 was on my list but being in concept didn't get covered. I agree it has a lot of potential here.

I'm full of cheese I guess :) When I run them I always do my C2 with a Nova and a C8R in the bay.. On a side note the Nova can take down a HH
And to gain the low-tier MedBed ability in any of the Hercules', just park a C8R inside.

85x is a good call out. It's basically in the same category as a 100 series but a good addition
P6 with the 3x is my favorite for bunkers. I carry a P4 though as well for that "ohh shit" moment when NPCs materialize behind you during heavy loads.

Kinda hard to beat a Redeemer. No need for a vehicle when you can fly right up and lay waste to everything, and park in the bosses parking spot.

I enjoy doing them in the 600i.
Absolutely 890. It has the same features as the Carrack but can also transport the tank, like the A2.
I see your A2 and raise you a hammerhead. (Actually I like both ships almost equally for bunkers)
Never really used the HH for bunkers, but I certainly get the appeal.
Scorpious
I like to solo with a carrack with two ground vehicles incase I get terminator wall/aim botting NPC's
The 600i will change that when the rework on it adds a med bay
Why are you using dated concept images of the Carrack? It does not look like that. It leaves the impression of a lower quality that the channel deserves.
Mostly because I have super limited time to make videos at the moment, and the information is still good, even if the visuals are lacking to some degree.
@@STLYoungblood sorry, I missed a word in my last sentence. It was to say: "...of a lower quality that the channel *doesn't* deserve."
Sure, the information is good and having limited time is understandable but now that leaves more questions..
Cutlass Steel is good for Bunker missions. Lots of room and seats for friends, lots of guns. Low-Side no med nor vehicles.
Definitely good, but I hate the pricing on it, so it gets a thumbs down from me every time
👍😋😍❤️👌💯
....picking ships because there is nothing else to do but buy more ships for the sake of buying ships. Ship Sale Citizen 11 years and counting (Try to correct me and ill will shut down anything you said being a 2012 backer and followed the first 8 years as an EXPERT)
