I can just imagine the beaver returning to his lodge & thinking "Dang, the underwater entrances to my lodge are above water now. I bet that pesky Human's been busting up my dam again".
THIS city girl moved to KY/TN 16 acres along the Cumberland river raising black angus many many years past. Little town would have a “Dam Picnic Weekend” to clear what beavers did and I mean ALOT of dams. I was a photographer so got some incredible pictures cus some dams were a piece of art. Had the best food and campfire 🔥 chats and a lot of learning about the country way. A few years back lost all my treasured pics and so much more to a raging forest fire BUT this video gave me all those memories back. Led to your channel for a reason and Lord knows I’m having the best time as am wishing I could have stayed in the country. You literally work your butt off day in and day out.... Amazing how much energy you have, Sir. May God continue to Bless you and yours. Merry Christmas!!!
Beaver are awesome! We used to go camping and would take a three mile hike to do see the beavers every summer. Watched the family grow. It was amazing.
I love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver. As June would say you were kinda hard on the Beaver but that's okay. Next, Job will probably come back. Life sure is fun. God bless you Jimmy !
I grew up watching you on television and saw you at Fin & Feather on Toledo Bend back in the mid 70's. Glad to see you still fishin and living the dream!!!
Definitely still living life wide open and having fun!! Thanks for joining our channel. We will have some fun and try to help everyone catch a few more fish!! God Bless! jimmy
I was standing lakeside one chilly afternoon just admiring the view when a beaver came out from the shoreline, just a few feet directly in front of me. He didn’t see me and started making his way to the middle of the lake. Then he finally saw me, made a quick u-turn and, grunting loudly, swam as fast as he right back could toward me. He was coming for me and all I could figure was that I must’ve been standing directly over his lodge and he had his family in there. Needless to say, I got outta there pronto.
Roland, I fight the same problem. One thing I have done is taken an old 2inch rope that was given to me from a lineman friend of mine they used to put up power poles. I ran a bunch of 9 inch gutter screws through it all different ways with a long tail leading to the bank. Periodically as the beavers try to build around it. I go pull it out with the tail. It pulls the majority of the work out of busting it up constantly. God bless!
Well done, Jimmy, all is back to normal. Personally, I'd move those big rocks off the apron in front of the spillway opening to over along the bank edges, because it's so much easier for the beavers to just fill the small gaps between them, rather than having to dam up the whole end of the spillway channel. The tougher you can make it for them to stop things up, the better, they're too smart & persistent to give them any kind of advantage.
Wow I just learned a lot. Holy Moly Momma, there was a lot of work put in by the beavers to build that. You worked your butt off destroying that and not one swear word. Good job. Camera work was wonderful too!
Hey Jimmy! Glad you made it through that adventure in one piece. My gut tells me to lay large pipes under the beaver dam with 90 degree ends facing down and some kind of valves so you can bypass the dam when the water gets too high. I would also like to use one of Roland's drones to see how low the water is getting at the piers while you are working on this. Just some thoughts, I never tried any of this. I assume Chris did the video. It was great! Have you ever seen the beavers? Great work Jimmy. Keep it up. God bless you and yours.
We do see those rascals quite a bit, Craig. We don’t really have a problem with high water since we rebuilt the dam and put the new spillway in. It carries 6 or 7 times more water than the old one!! Just gotta get rid of those expert dam builders!! Lol. God Bless! jimmy

I was catfishing on a roadbed at night with no lantern or light and fishing where a tinhorn goes under the road. I had already caught a bunch and I had a bump on my line and set the hook. I had a heck of a fight on my hands. I thought I had a big flathead and after a long battle it went up on the road. It was pitch dark and I thought what in the world? How did that catfish swim up on the road? I reeled up to it and it was a beaver I had hooked in his front leg. He started biting at my hook and luckily it pulled out. They were swimming thru that tinhorn. I knew they had a dam on the other side of the road
Crazy story, James, I’ve heard of that, but never caught one myself. Usually if they bite bait, I guess they would bite the line in two!! I sure wouldn’t wantTo try to wrestle one! Lol. Wonder how they taste!! Ha. Thanks! God Bless! jimmy

Beaver are an amazing animal that do what they were created to do and they do it very well. I had a friend that had a large garden with a lot of corn that was ready to be harvested. Need to get you some tannerite there boss, ROFL... That's why I was amazed at the amount of rain you seemed to get last week and mentioned we were basically dry in Guthrie. I know we have great variation across the state, but that seemed excessive. Then again, a couple of years ago we left the motel in Wilburton and not a cloud in the sky. Got out to the airport and in 15 minutes it was pouring, ended up getting 6-7 inches in 5 hours. I don't think it rained anywhere else in the state that day lol. Lucy's looking good again and saw Milburn's shadow there. All is good...
That would sure be a lot more fun!! Andy. Lol. We haven’t had a drop of rain since Nov 30. None so far in December. Normally rains pretty good here around Christmas. We’ll see! God Bless! jimmy
Thanks, EJ, and Welcome. We will put a smile on your heart every now and then! Plus we will have lots of fun and you will become a better fisherman to boot. May God Bless! jimmy
Rake, shovel, where's the Dynamite? Beautiful piece of Land Jimmy. All the Best. Enjoy all your videos, especially the ones your tormenting Roland . lol.
They are busy little beavers, Evalina, and can do a lot of work and destruction in a short time. Gonna have to clean that out again tomorrow after church (for the fourth time)!! Grrr! They need a new zip code address!! Lol. God Bless! jimmy
Wow, that was a lot of strenuous, dangerous work! 🥴😣 So glad that you didn't fall or get washed away... such a fast, powerful flow of water! Love how your dogs are always right by your side, and always ready to go for a ride with you! 💗🐕🥰 They sure enjoyed taking a swim. Hopefully, the beavers will leave that spillway alone now! 👍😊👏
Always found a 4 prong cultivator with curved prongs to be my most useful tool when cleaning ditches, culverts, river bank. Wood handles allow you to use it when burning those pecan limbs.
That looked like really hard work. I think my methodology for that particular task would differ somewhat from yours, although basically identical in terms of foundation, my technique for keeping that spillway clean would also involve a 40grain Nosler Ballistic tip, a Remington 22-250 and about 4000 feet per second. Services for the creatures would be brief, but heartfelt, followed by a small feast of some kind, perhaps involving pizza, refreshments and some dancing.
Yepp you are right, you can't understand how a beaver builds there dam until you take it apart by hand. I tore one out by hand once and I got into the middle of it and came across what I thought was a piece of garden hose. I started on getting it out and it turned into a whole garden hose weaved in and through and all through the dam. I couldn't get it out until I had all most the entire dam out.
Ain’t that the truth, they are great about weaving in mud and grass and sticks and anything they can drag to hold that dam together! Plus some big stuff they can’t even pick up! They float it into place!! Thanks. God Bless!! jimmy
You'll never run out of content when you're fighting beavers😂😂

Oddly satisfactory, good job mister
We’ll see! God Bless! jimmy
Thanks for sharing jimmy keep safe my friend keep use posted
Have a great one , Joseph. Godspeed! jimmy

That beaver at the very end of the video is like, "No worries, I'll be back tomorrow! It's what I do." ;-)

I have been in the U.P. OF MICHIGAN. IT IS AMAZING WHAT A BEAVER CAN DO. GOD BLESS YOU SIR.
They are busy little beavers, Evalina, and can do a lot of work and destruction in a short time. Gonna have to clean that out again tomorrow after church (for the fourth time)!!
Grrr! They need a new zip code address!! Lol. God Bless! jimmy
“You or me and it ain’t gonna be me” 😂😂😂😂
Great video jimmy that looks like a lot of work them beavers are good workers lol👍
Very refreshing Mr Houston
Lucy is such a sweetheart!!!
They probably won’t, Beth! Grrr! May have to declare war! The dogs loved doing that!! Lol. God Bless! jimmy
@@TwinEagleRanch Lord bless you and your family also! 🎄😊
You always have something to do. Good stuff bud.
Isn't that the truth. He doesn't have time to be bored.
I can’t believe the things that you can do at your age Jimmy, great job.
Always found a 4 prong cultivator with curved prongs to be my most useful tool when cleaning ditches, culverts, river bank. Wood handles allow you to use it when burning those pecan limbs.
Sounds good to me!! Thanks. Godspeed!! jimmy
That’s some beautiful land you have. I love it!
Thanks Kash, we love it!! May God Bless! jimmy
This video was entertaining. You’re a funny man sir.
Thanks Luis, be sure and subscribe, we have fun here!! I appreciate you! God Bless! jimmy
wow that's amazing beavers can actually do that. Merry Christmas and God Bless to you and you're family Jimmy.
And wishing y’all have a great Christmas, Pike, and a Blessed 2020. God Bless! jimmy
Great idea, J Tee, wonder how they taste!! Think I will need to declare war!! Grrr. Godspeed! jimmy
Thanks. God Bless!! jimmy
