I’ve made many cowls using a simple pattern like this in several different weights of yarn. I love easy patterns like this where the yarn is the star ⭐️ and basically does the work for me! Thanks!
GrannyDee, if I want to use #4 weight yarn, how many should I cast on please? I have a lot of this type of yarn and I want to at least make this pattern to gift to my bible study group. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I’ve watched this twice now. Your voice is so soothing and perfect for teaching. I have 2 beginner knitting projects done. I think I’m gonna tackle this.
I love the idea of using sock yarn. Seems that this will be so perfect for a no bulky but warm look. Thank you for sharing your time and very soothing presentation of the instructions. ❤
This is as great way to use a skein of Gedifra sock yarn that I have . I listened to your video and am on my way ! Thank you so much. You are an excellent teacher. Thank you ,Nathalie

Hi LP J, I'm so glad you discovered me, and thank you for your kind words! Guess what? I also learned how to crochet first and knitting was slow and uncomfortable for me until I discovered continental knitting. 😀 It's like crocheting with knitting needles! You can learn how to do it here: ua-cam.com/video/852OwkobTPc/v-deo.html
I’ve been trying out all sorts of cowl patterns recently, however I couldn’t find anything I really loved. I can stop looking now because this is the one! Such clear instructions in the video, and the cowl is working up beautifully in some gorgeous hand-dyed yarn from stash 🧶 Thank you so much for this fantastic tutorial ♥️

@Gus Jaxtyn Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

Hi Jas 262, I'm so glad you like the Sock Yarn Cowl! I also started out as a crocheter! Have you tried continental knitting? It's like crocheting but with knitting needles. It wasn't until I started using this method that my knitting really took off. 😀Here's a tutorial on how to do it: ua-cam.com/video/852OwkobTPc/v-deo.html
I just found you! I have my circular needle ordered, my pattern printed off, yarn out of the stash and just watched your wonderful, well made video! Thank you, thank you!
@@nobleknits, needles came in the mail yesterday. Found yarn and cast on, putting stitch markers every 20 stitches. Sometimes its hard to count properly ;) . Did 6 rows of rib last night, 2 rows this morning and now knitting in the round. I started knitting by "throwing" doing the rib and am now doing continental, slowly, to learn the method better. Dear Nancy, I’m inspired to try your beautiful neck warmer, not very skilled at knitting but so enthusiastic :) I have no fingering yarn and would love to try it in this pale aqua cotton corn blend I’ve had for years.
