- This gameplay tutorial for Mechwarrior Online shows you how to utilize your Mech to it's best extent. I'll give you a rundown of the build and what it is made for and show you the actual combat role in two games on the battlefield.
Mechwarrior Online is a competitive first person shooter where you build and pilot massive Mechs and prove yourself on the battlefield. The game is based on the Battletech franchise, which originally was a science fiction tabletop game in the 80s. Big part of the game is configuring your loadout and find the best match of missile, ballistic and energy weapons for your playstyle. The weapon variety ranges from devastating autocannons over particle projectors to deadly arrays of laser beams. On the battlefield your team of 12 Mechwarriors fight the enemies on rather small arena-type maps. Teamwork is crucial here because a single Mech does not survive long if it steps in front a full firing line. Communication and teamwork is key on your journey to glory and victory.

I am using Haven Kendrick's Soundpack! Download it here: / haven_kendrick . To install, simply locate your Mechwarrior Online installation folder, open "Game" and you will see lots of .pak files. Drop the sound mod file into that folder with the other .pak files, restart the client, and you are good to go!

Just got the "Ace of Spades" achievement today with my shotgun Direwolf. That was fun!
You can get a crab (medium mech) with a similar alpha strike with pulse lasers (one large, the rest medium), which are pinpoint accurate. The crab will be faster and probably live longer, even with an XL engine.
Less cute power though, even as memes as the Crab is, it's less cute ;)
I also like this vaiant of Catapult. Tho i put ER PPCs on the pods and two snub nose PPCs on the torso and many double heatsinks, i also put alot of points into cooling and heat gen. Its quite fun to play, i wish i were more skilled tho hahaha. Only play it casually and recently started playing it again after like.... 8 years, when it came out lmao.

I'll try an XL engine on a heavy. It just usually doesn't fit my playstyle lol. I usually brawl up close and in the face.
I was doing this in Battletech, it was so good all-rounder but bit running hot

Personally, I hope they don't revamp Hibernal so that people who preferred the original Canyon can still have a place to enjoy.

I really wish the red text (that shows distance, names, damage %) was not red. I cannot see the text when there is a dark background, which is most of the time, even on cold/icy maps. I can NEVER tell how far away one of your targets are.
It’s too bad you can’t set the color for the targeting reticle. That light yellow on IS mechs easily can get lost n what’s happening on screen, at least to my eyes.
It's too bad that the PPC's are slower projectiles than the LBX pellets. If it worked out the opposite way, you could drill holes and fill them with crit-seeking pellets.
Before even watching the video, I looked at the build. And I was like, huh, LBX and snubs, ok. I'd put the Snubs in the arms, just to have the ability to elevate the guns. Then I saw the arm armor, and was like, oh. Then I noticed all the armor shaved from the legs and head, and I was like, oh. Then I noticed the engine was a 280XL, and not the 300XL I prefer to run in Catapults, and I was like, well... shit.
Can't help but think this is a better build for something just a tad bigger, like a Warhammer. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of mechs that can carry a weapons load like this with any real speed. Most of the mechs 80 tons and under that have the hardpoints either don't have the tonnage, or have a hardpoint arrangement that precludes using a LFE or XL.

Love your videos man and check for them every morning. But these "let's try this build" videos get a bit monotonous. Can you spice it up with smth creative? Maybe games where you're trying to accomplish a certain goal. Cheers.

I hate this type of content, because it always makes me want to get back into the game but I won't unless they combine the solo and group matchmaking together.
I want to play with friends and I don't want to spend 20 minutes waiting for a match.
I'm pretty sure they combined those a while back. Wait times aren't too bad now.
