I appreciate how they left the unedited timeouts in the last game because we were clearly witnessing something special.
Johns got pickled … never thought I would see the day! Wow.🤩 😮 🤯
Deascu and Tardio did exactly what they needed on that third game. They sped it up and didn't play the controlled dink game that the Johns play so well. The speed ups, the hard drives and quick hands seem to be the way to get the Johns off their game.
This isn't quite true. Over the long term that strategy doesn't prevail. It was tried to it's fullest with wright/Newman and they pretty much gave up. What's happening is Tardio is getting hot and beating Ben while also playing at a high level of consistency. These are wildcard type factors and while yes they are effective in the short term, the Johns are happy to play the long term game. Tardio/Deascu have to keep winning gold in order to prove otherwise
Wow. The third set was insane.
Wow they pickled the best!
Awesome, win!! Skills on Display!!
So unexpected!!! Amazing!!! We need a analysis of this game. What are they doing that catches the johns off guard
They need to change the color of the kitchen. Makes it hard to see the ball in the video. Needs more contrast with the ball.
Is the Johns’ first pickle?
The Johns bros have been so dominant for so long. Amazing talent but people like to see a strategy and talent that executes it to beat the best. Gabe Tardio has quick and short volley punches and flicks, faster than BJ in several.
@ 6:46 or so… “Wow, rock you like a hurricane with the scorpion by Colin Johns.”-Dave Flemming.
Clearly a fan of the late, great Stu Scott. “He’s BUTTER! Why? Because he’s on a roll.” “If momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.”
I salute you, sir!
"im sure the did their homework. Im sure theyre much more prepared for this team"

What’s up with the weird camera angles?
At least the video is watchable. It’s been at least a month of unwatchable video production.
From the colour of Ben Johns paddle it looks like hes playing with the Gen 3 Perseus. I wonder if that affected his play.
CJ playing with fear the entire game 🐭
Rob Cassidy is a HUGE upgrade to color commentary and he adds relevant observations about tactics and strategy. Huge, huge, huge upgrade. Make him default, please. He’s your Tony Romo.
BJ can no longer use the excuse “we lost to them because we often are not warmed up enough in the round of 16” 🤣
Gabe Tardio is my favorite pickleball player! And Andre is a close second 😂
Wow….PICKLED…?
Game 2: 9:12
Game 3: 29:22
Why does this look sped up?
I know damn well this dude didn't see Collin John's, the most average athlete in all of professional sports, run 12 feet to get to a PICKLEBALL DROPSHOT and bring up "NFL 40 times" 😂
Daescu sent CJ so many high lofty dinks and CJ did...nothing with them. He plays wayyyy too passively. He's more of a liability than an asset with how the games evolving.
right, he could've sped up so many balls
Yeah but those could’ve been bait balls. The thing about Andre is he’s so tall that he can afford to play like a foot off the kitchen line and on top of that, most of those attackable dinks you can see that he takes another step or two back so he’s playing off like 3 feet from the kitchen just ready to counter the next ball.
@@adamheath4599 thats true
@@adamheath4599 True, but if you never speed up, then the opponent never has to worry or feel pressured. You have to mix it up at least a little bit.
@adamheath4599 ain't no way you just said a "bait ball". He's leaving his dinks at head level..... on purpose?? 😂😂 come on man lmao
Fluke! Lol John’s were just off the 3rd game… too bad they couldn’t win in the Big Game😂
The grey kitchen color makes this unwatchable. It’s impossible to see the ball.
Johns got bullied the last game you love to see it. Gabe was white hot
The Johns brothers were tired - they probably didn’t get much sleep last night that’s why they played in their pajamas
Hey everybody, 10 years ago, I was a fast sprinter.
Awful video and audio quality
Wish I saw this live but I refuse to watch the pickleballTV crap.
@37:30 daescu actually steps in the kitchen after volleying the ball. PPA needs to get their rules figured out if they want to be taken seriously. The Johns weren't pickled, third game has an asterisk next to it.
That’s complete BS. That was like a full second after the volley, and he clearly had control of his balance, and stepped in to dink the ball, if it toppled over the net.
He had both feet planted after his first two backhand volleys. And it clearly wasn’t momentum from those previous shots that put him in the kitchen. Rather, after those two backhand volley rolls he did, you can see his feet both firmly plant behind kitchen, and then he intentionally steps in the kitchen anticipating Collin John’s hit to go in just over the net, but it didn’t.
You have to realize you can step in the kitchen at any time in the game…you just can’t volley the ball out of the air once in there, nor have momentum carry you into the kitchen from a volley outside the kitchen. Neither of those scenarios happened. Slow the video down to 0.25x if you need to see what I’m talking about
Looking closely in slow motion I don't see a fault (i.e. violation of rule 9.B.1). Daescu doesn't step into the kitchen on either his swing, the follow-through, or his momentum from his volley action. His momentum had stopped and he steps into the kitchen after CJ's return of his volley goes into the net.
@VividTape zero fault. Zero question of a fault. He established out, and there’s no momentum taking him in. He’s absolutely free to step in again.
