The only characters that we interact with in HL that are also involved in the HP books/movies would be Sir Nearly Headless Nick(if you are a Gryffindor), Headmaster Black(who is a portrait in the Black house and in the Headmaster's office in the HP timeline), and Peeves. However, the game does sorta introduce canon in the form of another Gaunt who doesn't end up with kids(or is struck from the family name) and a loose implication that Dumbledore proceeds to go to school with Black and Weasley at the helm. The average wizarding world member life expectancy is about 138 years, but Hogwarts is also infamous for going through teachers at all levels frequently. Armando Dippet was literally ancient, but he still only took up the post of Headmaster for a relatively short time, for example.
What's funny is that when you chose wizard, those knights at the staircase are gonna see you as a boy instead of a girl, which means you are not allowed access to the girls' dormitories.

@@breezyfgames oh it was a quiet nice experience. Even if the second half of the year was a vastly different experience. I wished there were more to do at the school in the end, but I spent increasingly more time exploring the coastal regions of the schottish highlands instead.
