Thanks for sharing. I could be wrong, but the lower strings sound tense, the extent that it almost sounds like it’s dampening the sound

Thank you for your comments, Andrew. I made the video in one take with a Samsung S22 phone, and no external mic, so it is not a high quality edited video. Also, made in my studio, which has sound dampening in it. Perhaps that all contributes to what you hear through a UA-cam video. Under the ear, they are very robust. I feel like I am driving a Ferrari. In the concert Hall, the feedback that I have received from other musicians has only been positive. Noteably the projection and evenness of tone is stellar. I have not heard anyone else play them, and we didn't compare back to back. Now that they are well broken in, that would be an excellent idea to try. For now, i am enjoying the overtones and openness of warm powerful sound on the lower strings. Maybe I can follow up at the 1 year mark and include some back to back comparisons with some other strings.

I think the tone is even and very excellent.

have you explored having fewer fine tuners to reduce the weight of the tail piece?

    • @bravurahouse8990

that is a "les bois d'harmonie" tailpiece with carbon fiber tuners. this is probably the best sounding tailpiece you can buy. it is quite light and really extraordinary. They are hand made and i have experimented of both great violins and student violins with significant improvement in sound from this tailpiece. Also, modern strings generally have higher tension and benefit from this type of tailpiece. The traditional setup with only an E tuner is beneficial for gut strings of the past. When i first switch, the improvement to my violin was huge, plus, i hardly ever have to tune more then micro amounts, meaning my strings last longer. I will never go back to the old fashioned setup.

Thanks for your video. If you tried the Larsen cannone soloist focused set before, how do they compare with the gold? Are these brighter/darker?

My go to preferred string has been the Cannone Solo since they first came out, so I know them well. The Gold set is a bit darker/warmer than the solo but slightly more vibrant. I do want to put a set of Solo on this fall to compare them back to back, so I will report back on that one.

@@Ciaccona255 I ship anywhere in Canada, so it would be cheaper for you to buy in Europe. I studied violin in Holland, so I know dealers in Holland, but here is the website for you to contact them directly. www.boisdharmonie.net/en/ I am sure there will be a dealer in Zagreb. You should have it installed by a luthier anyway, so call some violin makers. I always install them with either a kevlar or a titanium tailwire, depending on the personality of the violin. I turned up my nose at titanium until i heard it on a violin. I expected shrill cold sound, but it brought out more brilliance and sparkle. So, on a bright violin, i would use kevlar. A luthier can tie a double overhand knot and adjust the length to get the proper afterstring length. Either way, they are beautiful and will improve the tone and response of any violin.

Where is it written that these strings are supposed to last 4 years?

sorry, i mispoke that in the video the 2nd time around. They say they last 3-5 times longer than other strings. We will see. That is a tall claim.
