I learned how to tie the dropper loop knot back in the 70's on a sportfishing boat saltwater fishing when I was a kid. It is still one of my most used knots for fresh or saltwater. Great channel you have by the way.

Thanks for the heads up, But i have a boat and on the lake what kind of water should i be looking for, deep or shallow, cold or warmer? I fish Braunig and Calaveras lake here in San Antonio, and they are both power plant lakes so some of the water is warm and some is cold, and on both sides i can get as shallow as 2.5 feet, or as deep as 30 feet.

How to I tie the hook with an additonal length for the sinker? Can rig be use for night crawler/frozen minnow?

I would use a 3-way swivel. Leader to 3-way and line from 3-way to hook same weight. Line to weight about 1/2 so if your weight gets hung up you don't lose all your rig or a fish.
