@@thegoldenaegis More than likely, that seems to be what the game is implying. Especially since you can find the Divine Beast helms in this game and wearing one strengthens that particular sage and gives them their ancestor's helm.
If you use the wing suit to dive from the sky to the depths you can get a moment of pause as the game loads a bit there. It doesn't seem to expect you to be going that quickly down.
I got it to pause because it had to load me diving/ glide falling into the Water Temples weird gravity (jumped from one of those spiral constructions and glided to it)
If you climb down partway into a chasm, and then climb back up, you can get like a 15-30 second pause because the game NEVER expects you to actually go a little down into a chasm and then back up.
I think it was a nice touch that the developers put extra buildings in the out of bounds areas, to show that the falling islands impacted more than just the main area
1:35 The reason as to why Zelda’s hands look like this may have to with the fact that she’s using an IK rig for her hands. The IK constraints (not visible in frame) are located near the pedestal where she receives the Master Sword, hence why her hands look like that. I think the devs usually do not keyframe her hand position while she’s hidden from the camera because it wouldn’t make sense to have her positioned while she’s out of the camera. Also, the fact that the Rewind effect plays out in real time instead of it being pre-rendered. That is very awesome. Super awesome video.
One of the first things I wanted to check out when I got the chance to, was to see if the Observatory from the Calamity Ganon fight of BOTW was still there. Diving into the depths is such a cool experience that I didn’t even consider that it’s just an elaborate loading screen.
The whole thing of the environment of the world “pushing and pulling” against itself explains a few things, as I remember like around the Hyrule Castle Chasm directly within the Depths I’d sometimes actively see the caverns actively squash and stretch as I got closer which may be because of how deep that particular Chasm goes
I'd really love to see an out of bounds view of the final boss area. Also the ruins at the very beginning of the game, bc its possible to revisit them later but it's a different loading zone I think
Seeing how things are seemlessly culled in and out for those transitions just makes me all the more impressed at how this game is even possible on a Switch.
If by chance you make a follow up to this video I would love to see some of the caves from the outside, like when you fly around in spectator mode in Minecraft. And speaking of caves, the mural cave you mentioned from the menu is an actual location you can go to ingame, and so I wonder if the opening segment with link and Zelda is an isolated environment or actually located in that cavern under the castle. Love this series, tearing back the curtain of games and seeing how they work behind the scenes!
So a fun thing I did one time was I sky dived in the glider suit and fell straight downfrom the highest sky island (the one above lookout landing) all the way down into the underground bunker and I moved *so fast* that the game wasn't able to load the assets fast enough and I got to see just how many objects are not loaded in when you're up in the sky. Things like the goddess statue and all the npcs were loaded in, but the wall decor and entire chunks of the sets were nonexistent. I managed to get a clip of it too. It was awesome :)
The Ancestors do indeed have unique models. I don't remember exactly who it was, but someone on Tumblr found and uploaded the models of each Ancestor without their masks.
If you do another follow up for Totk, I would love to see more of the areas they show in the memories, if they aren’t pre-rendered. Like the sky islands as they where whole. I’ve always wondered just how much has fallen off of them and what the artists imagined they use to look like.
I can tell that a part 2, 3, 4 heck as much of this game that you can cover would be peak content if you ask me. Even if it's just a zoomout of any of the gleeok's big moves, there's just so much to explore be it for discoveries or simple curiosity.
would love to see what the inside of the Light Dragon's model looks like, as well as the updated models for the other 3 dragon spirits. They seem a lot larger now, and you can actually walk on them. What does it look like when, for instance, Dinraal descends through a chasm into the Depths? Also, what does it look like inside the big ball of light that envelops [SPOILER] during the Dragon's Tear cutscene that reveals the light dragon's origin? (might be best to put that last one behind a spoiler warning towards the end of the video)
Defiantly looking forward to Light dragon's origin cutscene. Probably the dragon is either kind of squished into the ball of light, or is under the platform in a straight line as the angle we see it at hides the cliff the platform is next to.

Yesterday I literally searched for a Boundary Break of this game. This was surprisingly quick! (Semi spoiler) I hope in the next one for totk It will also show more of Beneath Hyrule Castle and the room that holds mummy Ganondorf
@@R1IY2N or a version of the timeline where Zelda never traveled to the past, therefore Rauru and the other sages fail to seal away Ganondorf, and so you play as that era's version of Link and explore a prehistoric version of Hyrule where Ganondorf has become king and all of the major towns are run by his loyal Gerudos instead of the Hylians who have now been banished to the desert.

These boundary break videos give me an insight to what its actually like developing a game at nintendo. Its so fun. Was hyped for the TOTK one, thank you!
I wonder if the reason that lakes and rivers on the surface are borders in the Depths, is because of the way they pull water up from the ground to make said lakes and rivers
You can actually reach that area in game by going down the hyrule castle chasm, and doing a bit of an enemy gauntlet. *spoilers* its mural versions of zelda's memories.
I think you can see the constructs’ spinning part, if only briefly. I think you can see it slow to a halt when they are defeated, since the construct stretches when it’s taken out.
Hey just so y’all know with the title screen, that is actually a place somewhere on the map, he said “doors and other details you’ll never get to see” but I’m pretty sure you can find it in or under the castle 7:47
Funny thing is at 6:40, when I was playing through that sequence, I was thinking about you doing a boundary break of tears and breaking down that whirlpool lol Now a couple weeks later, here we are! Thanks!!!
Zelda's zombie hands in that opening cutscene is because they are using an animation method called Inverse Kinematics. Makes sense because the scene has her hands leading the animation while the rest of the arms follow - hence IK. Im guessing the animator just positioned the hand controllers there for their own convenience as the scene was starting to play.
The projection method used at 7:19 is most likely 'Interior Mapping"/'Interior Parallax Mapping' that was first made by Joost van Dongen (afaik). This method has become popular over the years to emulate depth in 2D planes.
Finally decided to buy a copy of this game thanks to you! This game looks so cooool, and it was neat seeing how all the tricks under the hood worked, but seeing it all reminded me, I need to play this game!
Ohoho, getting to see the water sage's face is fun stuff, like a lot of other commenters, I'd would love to see if you could get the other three in the future as well! Also seconding the question about the observatory someone posed. As for my suggestion... it might take some hunting around, but my immediate thought upon seeing this in my sub box was, "I wonder if there are any caves or underground areas not accessible to the player?" With how many caves and wells and whatnot there are in the overworld, I can't help but be curious if there were any that were planned during development and were partially or fully modeled/textured, which were ultimately scrapped but left in because with no way to access them in normal gameplay, there wouldn't be too much need to spend time getting rid of them so the player didn't see the unfinished product. Little cave pockets in the ground with no access points, to put it another way!
i think they made a reference to the fact that water was pulled up from under ground by the depths having walls that reach up to the surface wherever water sources are (just a guess)
It was very interesting to get a look at some of the details of this game you simply don't see, and makes me wonder what else it has going behind the curtains.
Awesome video as always! The first thing I thought of when I approached a shrine in this game was “where is the projection source.” The video showed the projection itself, but the source has to be somewhere. My initial though was beyond map boundaries, but that wouldn’t be optimal since everything outside of render distance is low poly. If you ever revisit this game, I would to see if it could be found!
1:38 I dunno if someone else already mentioned this, but as some nerd-tidbit on a 2 month old video: It heavily looks like the weird arm position is due to Inverse Kinematics. Basically meaning, that there are two bones - or to simplify it, just imagine two points - that the end of her arms/wrist are always pointing at, while the other connected bones/limbs always get "dragged behind". If we closely inspect her arms, or wrists for that matter, we can perfectly see how they always point towards that same spot, just above that stone "table", and once they reach that point and kinda snap in place, the rest of her arms move accordingly and it slowly looks like a more natural pose. Rarely seen such a perfect example to visualize IK Rigging in a game, lol
I'm looking forward to more out of bounds stuff from this game! Maybe in a few weeks when more people have had a chance to see the spoilery stuff for themselves?
Saw elsewhere that this was out so I went to scour my recommendations and list of subscription uploads and everything but despite having just looked up if one of these videos had been released the other day, UA-cam refused to present the video to me. I eventually had to give up and search for it myself.
I think a youtuber (Maybe alpharad I can't remember) accidentally interacted with the water layer while diving into the depths. He hit a wall and started swimming in the tunnel for second before falling again.
I'd love to see a complete zoom-out of Hyrule from the height limit, similar to the Breath of the Wild video. Since they added the sky, and water renders properly further out now, it seems like they sculpted the rest of the landmasses outside of Hyrule more thoroughly, so it'd be interesting to see what the rest of the continent looks like now that we can see the rest of the coastline. In my own playthrough, I noticed some new islands southwest of the Gerudo Desert that weren't there in the BotW video, as an example.
Omg he did it. Haven’t watched it yet. Kudos to Shesez for getting this out. To date, I think the BOTW boundary break video pushed the map to its limits. Can you please do a sequence break on this one?
I hope for a part 2 down the road. Really want to know like with the shrine how they look inside, or just the entrance. Im sure there not much, but since watching these shows, i think about it. I am glad to see the accened effect, cause i was interested in that too

Saw elsewhere that this was out so I went to scour my recommendations and list of subscription uploads and everything but despite having just looked up if one of these videos had been released the other day, UA-cam refused to present the video to me. I eventually had to give up and search for it myself.
"Water temple"
...
I used an air bike to just get to the top surrounded by water and beat it in a minute, I totally forgot about this part.
The very close MASSIVE spoiler at 7:48-7:50 had me sweating for people. 🤣🤣
"Hey real quick.. thank you so much"
I think a youtuber (Maybe alpharad I can't remember) accidentally interacted with the water layer while diving into the depths. He hit a wall and started swimming in the tunnel for second before falling again.
I can't wait to see a continuation when all the spoiler stuff settles down.
Link literally became Black Adam for the intro! What a legend!
This feels like the first time I've ever seen a UA-camr sponsor a genuinely useful-sounding product
Omg he did it. Haven’t watched it yet. Kudos to Shesez for getting this out. To date, I think the BOTW boundary break video pushed the map to its limits. Can you please do a sequence break on this one?
the amount of detail effort works that put into this game is insane…
I hope for a part 2 down the road. Really want to know like with the shrine how they look inside, or just the entrance. Im sure there not much, but since watching these shows, i think about it.
I am glad to see the accened effect, cause i was interested in that too
"Secret water world"
Wind waker is waiting behind the bookcase
Pls do A LOT more Tears of the Kingdom lol there's so much content potential with this one :)
