When Jimmy died, it was the first AND ONLY TIME I EVER cried over a musicians death. I was 27 years old when he died, I'm 35 now. It was the only time I was really distraught about somebody I never even met. Pinkly Smooth was in my digital collection at the time and I've always been a Zappa fan, since I was in my early teens, thanks to my guitar teacher. I've been a fan of A7X since I saw "Bat Country" early in the morning summer of 2005. I said, YES!!! This is it! A band that can rip it up musically and still have Hunter S. Thompson references in their video!!! That was the point of no return for me.
The Rev is so much beautiful drum kit i've ever seen in my life. But so pity, we had lost big talented in the world after he's dead. Rest in peace Knife Master 🍃

Thats when i knew why he was THE REV. Telling me a little bit what he was all about preaching to me his philosophy. I can' t tell you how many times I wrote on Johnny' s birthday cake when his mom Lesly came into Lucci's I had drinks. With his grandpa Bob and Johnny's Mom almost every Sunday night at Li's restaurant. I kid you not , I cried, or shed some kind of tear every day for almost a year. Jimmy was cool, and musically gifted. If i ever meet up with you guys, I have some partial lyrics Jimmy wrote. Partial, 'cause i can't find the other half. A mutual friend gave me these lyrics gave them to me and said he wrote them in the janitors closet at Beernutz on garfield&beach. Love you jimmy thanx 4 your huge contribution to the music world . you may have been a singer, but you and i know "IT'S ALL ABOUT THE DRUMMER"!!!! Peace out&RIP.

I think for some songs at least he used a pork pie 14 inch acrylic clear snare. He also had I think a giant DW brass snare like 14x7? And also some 14 inch DW lava red snare. I'm not sure which were used but I remember reading that's what he used around the time he started using this snake skin DW kit.

the toms are mounted to the rack not to the bass drum
3rd bass drum was in a different tuning in case he needed it

My cousin was that guy for me. He was crazy good at playing drums too. And he too died from an overdose.... I feel that pain...
