I have a question. I had always heard you can’t bake clay once it was painted because the acrylic would react and it would be a disaster for your pieces, as well as produce harmful fumes, but you obviously did. Is there a trick to it because I really liked the technique you used because it seemed like it made it easier/less errors/messing for certain areas.
I wish you would have gotten a reply, because not only is it an issue regarding the paint, but some of those parts are being baked multiple times (well beyond recommendation) and over-baked polymer clay becomes very brittle and breaks easily.

I love your hobbit house. All the little details are so perfect when it all comes together. I love the idea of a frosty morning look. I imagine it might make a hobbit quite grumpy, though. :) Merry Christmas to you, Maive, and may 2020 be all you've hoped it would be.

What do you use to seal the polymer clay with?
are you baking between each step?
Do you cook the clay and jar and then jar with tin foil again with clay together?

Thank you :) Yes, I bake it as many times as needed in between layers. :)

Do you store things in those jars? Or just use them for looks?
It depends on how I decide to build the house. Some I can screw the top off, so they can be used to store things or as lanterns with battery operated tealights. With some I use the jar upside down so that the opening is on the bottom and one can use it as a lantern too. In the case of this house, as the opening is on the front, one can use it as a lantern as well or as a decoration :)

A strong glue like super glue or gorilla glue. Brand names may differ from country to country so just a strong glue that you know 😁

What type of color did you use ?
You can see them in the video. If you mean brands, I used Sculpey Ultra Light (for the skeleton) and Premo by Sculpey for the rest 😊 hope this helps 😊
