Dude we’ve been playing this game for over a year the update is a difficult for any of us to master. Lol. We’ve already done it by dying 100 times to each boss and learning everything about them in the past year.
The updates are not a problem. I just wanted those outfits. The bosses are hardly a problem. 3-4 tries max. 2 to understand the new movesets. 1-2 more because you're overconfident
When you think about it, holding L1 is actually hesitating because you are not confident in your ability while deflecting by tapping L1 rewards you for doing so.

@@veloce5491 Lmao no, if you put attention he doesn' t create lighting, he jumps to catch a falling lighting to attack you, basically he is using the lighting reversal and that's not an heretical skill, the reason why he doesn't do the lighting reversal twice is because by the time you hit him he is on the ground, unlike inner genichiro who stays a few seconds in the air after creating the lighting ready to use the sakura dance
They made the most changes to his first phase. He’s got a quite a few chase down moves that aren’t in the video, and sometimes he’ll even fake you out by sheathing his sword, only to start a normal combo instead of an Ashina Cross
I think it would’ve been cool if he could reflect lightning or imbue his blade with lightning. Make it so his attacks inflict a slow buildup of shock that once fully built up, you would have to be in the air and do a lightning reflection on his next attack
Tbh I think I'm more than satisfied with the new moves given. In his first phase he can do a 360 slash with the mortal blade which I think is followed by a shockwave considering the huge burst heard at the end. In his second phase he can do a three hit combo with the second and third combo being mid air with a mikiri attack to follow it up. I think I missed more but I think this new moveset more than enough suffices imo.
This video helped me understand how to deal with the new moves so much better. Like for example when Isshin does the sweep with his katana then the uppercut with the glaive; I always jumped the sweep and tried to deflect the uppercut midair which worked but I would get caught with the big thrust attack afterwards or the slice. Watching how Ongbal dealt with made that move much easier to evade.
You can actually mid-air-deflect the second attack from the new 3 attack combo he does in second and third phase, it looks really cool you should try it
Seriously we need a dlc for this game . I am a huge fan of ancient japanese architecture and there are very few games which are based on a Japanese environment . We need more game like Sekiro.
Yeah, it would be nice to get campaign/story related DLC, but I never thought we'd get anything more and then they released the update (DLC), which gives the game even more replay ability. Ahhhh that mikiri counter into finishing deathblow is so sweet. Also I didn't know you can just jump away from his special sweep attack to avoid the second hit, I kept mid air deflecting that second hit but he sometimes managed to hit me with the vertical swipe.
The inner bosses expanded on what those bosses had to begin with. Owl gets more shinibi moves and tools, (especially that mist raven effect) Genichiro gets more mobility and zone control, and Isshin gets more relentless attacks with difficult patterns. Isshin always would show you a hint (such as sheathing his sword) then wait for your response and try to counter it. His new spear combo with the midair stuff still kicks my ass, and it seems like he checks how you responded before he continues the combo. When you jump over the sweep towards him, he does a vertical slash instead of a thrust. I expected inner isshin to extend his responses, such as having some sort of counterplay after you use a mikiri counter, or to have some answers to the usual things you can do to avoid his moves. They gave him new offensive moves, but not much in the way of counterattacks or new defensive moves.

you can actually hard counter isshin's combo at 1:03 if you stand close to him, jump in the air, jump on his head while in the air, and the opening umbrella and doing the followup. this is fairly inconsistent but i think making sure that hes looking perfectly straight at you while the red kanji is appearing can make it more consistent. i think whether or not the umbrella followup hits or gets countered also depends on of he goes for the thrust at the end of the combo or the wind attack.
in the first phase if I keep attacking him he sometimes coutnerattacks without deflecting first then does a sweep. How do you avoid that? is the regular attack then thrust there to force him deflect instead of doing that move?
